Pazzo! Italian Cafe Ratings and Reviews
This restaurant is owned by the same people that own Chop House (next door) and Yabba (further down 5th Ave). There are several interesting similarities:
1. The Maitre d’s at both Yabba and Pazzo have an attitude. Last night at Pazzo we showed up at 5:40 for a 6pm reservation and, despite the restaurant being empty were told we could not be seated until our reservation time. We were directed (dismissed would be more like it) to the bar. We have experienced the exact same policy (and treatment) at Yabba.
2. My wife was told she could not have her salmon rare. Restaurant policy. Really? It came medium and for her over cooked.
3. The menu offers a “bottomless” glass of wine for $9.95. After our entrees came no one came, ever, to check on us or even once offer to refill my glass. At the end of the meal, when the waitress came back (finally) to see if we wanted dessert, I️ asked her to take the wine off our bill. To the restaurant’s credit they did.
The food is quite good and the ambiance nice but like Yabba the service and snooty attitude will likely keep us from returning
The service was slow and our server seemed overwhelmed. The meatballs were very small and they didn’t have the wine we ordered. Some of the food was not hot when brought to the table and they overcharged us on our bill for a bottle of wine we never had. The service and food has declined.
This was nowhere as good as usual - and the overpriced menu items are beginning to wear thin. Thank God we had a discount card but even so - $39 for grouper picatta over spaghetti? Come on.
They did have a cheap menu promotion going on but we went there to get our favorite dishes, not the early bird. The food was not prepared well, which is really disappointing.
Had such a great time last Halloween that we returned again this year but unfortunately everyone else has discovered this hidden gem so it was very busy but it did add to the ' buzz of the place ' .
Our Early Bird of 2 entrees for $ 22 was excellent value and we had plenty of food . The 'bottomless' glass of wine tempted us to almost stay the night in the restaurant but we dragged ourselves away to walk down Fifth and see all the costumes .
I have been coming to Pazzo since it opened. It has always been a favorite of mine, but the last two times I have been less than impressed. I ordered grouper picatta. it was tough and the pasta on the side was nothing special. The sauce was thin and runny. I left hungry.
The appetizer of butternut squash was very small to share.
I hope the food and service will improve. I would like to come back.
Our dinner was really nice, waiter, Jamie gave us a complete lowdown on the menu and the extras and was really genuine. Our salmon was delicious as well as fresh bread and drinks. Will definitely be back again and ak for Jamie as he was really outgoing and nice.
Both my husband and I were thoroughly impressed with our choices, and thought the veal piccata, and my clams and linguine were some of the best we had ever eaten. Our server was nice enough to let us move outside for dessert and brought us a nightcap on the house. And the tiramisu was fantastic!
My husband and I went to Pazzo on a Sunday evening. We both got one of the summer special entrees and both were delicious - the chicken parm and the penne vodka. Our waiter was very friendly and welcoming. We will definitly go back. It was a great value for great food.
Pazzo is one of our favorite restaurants. We booked an intimate birthday dinner. Unbeknown to us Pazzo was running a half price dinner special on the entire menu.
Needless to say that half the town was dining there - not the usual clientele. It was crowded, extremely warm to the point of uncomfortable - so much so that we skipped birthday dessert! Our server, Jamie, did the best he could to be attentive. The service there is usually impeccabe. We waited for our plates to be cleared between courses and also waited for our check to the point of becoming restless.
In the future I recommend that management cut back on the amount of reservations when offering specials to approximately 2/3 - 3/4 of their capacity. The staff ran ragged while simultaneously trying to keep their composure.
The food was excellent as always - served hot and artistically garnished.
Had we known of the half price event we would have booked at another restaurant. Yet we continue to love and will continue to patronize Pazzo.
We sat outside, so the atmosphere that evening was ideal...private, cozy, and perfect for watching folks walk by without being right on the sidewalk.
The food, fantastic! Tasty and perfect portions. Our server was friendly and helpful.
Thanks Skip and Pazzo for a wonderful Hurricaine Survivors night out.
My friend and I went on a Thursday night to enjoy their excellent pasta. 5th ave Naples gets very busy during season so it was quite enjoyable to miss all the crowds and be able to enjoy a leisurely meal with friends. The service is exceptional off season. Everyone is relaxed and friendly, not that they are not friendly but this time of year you have time to just enjoy and talk.
The homemade ravioli & tortelloni was not good. The noodle dough was too thick, heavy...hard to chew.
Service was poor. Waiter was not attentive nor efficient.
We were celebrating two birthdays. I notified them in advance. They ignored the occasion.
It took forever! We had a 6:00 reservation for five adults and two children....we were there by 5:50 and were seated, gave orders...food never arrived until 7:00!!!!
I sent my cosmo back two times and finally gave up and ordered a bottle of wine because the offerings per glass were very cheap wines....
The meals were good but we won't return if service in the summer with only three tables at 6:00 took an hour! Ridiculous!
