Whenever I have guests in town, I like to take them to Paulette's for dinner. The service is always top notch and the food is fantastic. The Filet Paulette is outstanding, but have never had anything that wasn't delicious. Good wine selection also.

Beautiful restaurant with excellent food. Everybody enjoyed their meal and there were no leftovers. Menu is a little bit limited but everything we tried was excellent. So I guess the takeaway is "do the things you do very well, even if there's not a ton of them." Parking was a little awkward, as this is a restaurant in a large residential neighborhood. It may have designated parking, but it was raining hard that night and I could not find it. The restaurant had the feel of an old Southern mansion with many little rooms (which was nice) though it seems to be relatively new. Conversations were easy with just a few tables per room. Got to hear conversations at nearby tables, too. Fortunately, nothing awkward. Drinks were great.

Loved the piano playing while me and the miss was enjoying our dinner and the waiter suggestions on wine and dessert was on point. It was truly a romantic place and setting.

My wife and I dined there on a Saturday night. We ordered the pork chop to split and it was more than enough for the two of us. It was tender, juicy and had a wonderful flavor. Our server Mike did an outstanding job. Can't wait to go back.

We were very disappointed on this visit ...
We were very disappointed on this visit to Paulette's. We went on Monday night because of their $19.95 specials on Mondays. In the past, it has been fine. This time, not so much. My husband had the beef tenderloin over mashed potatoes and I had the chicken. He said his was fine, but nothing special. My chicken was too tough to cut. I could not chew it through. OUr waiter did not come back toi check on us until my husband was nearly finished with his meal. All I could eat of mine was the veggies and potatoes. When our waiter finally came close, I still had to hail him to come to the table. He took my plate away even though I was obviously still eating the veggies. IN fact, he yanked it out from under my fork. He said he would have them make me another plate. I wished he had asked rather than telling me. If I could have finished the veggies, I would have been ok and just asked for an adjustment on our bill. As it was, I had to wait for them to cook another plate of overcooked and tough chicken for me. It was not as bad, so I ate what I could. The server said that they rarely have anything go back and that he was sorry, and that the chef said it was overcooked. Indeed it was. I do not know if they used frozen breast filets for the dish, but tough chicken only happens with overcooking or cooking too fast. It almost tasted like it was nuked. We will go back because we like Paulettes. But, I'll never order chicken there again.

The whole experience was exceptional. The service was wonderful and over the top! The food was great. Our party included 3 young grandchildren.
I had brunch at Paulette's last Sunday along with two friends, and we had a wonderful time! The food was delicious (I had the salad with goat cheese and strawberries and the chicken kebob with mushroom sauce). Both were wonderful

Our visit to Paulette's was to celebrate a special lady in my life, my mother. This was her first time dining here. The popovers with strawberry butter were a delightful before-dinner surprise to her. After our visit, she told me, "Thanks for the wonderful memory!" Our evening couldn't have been more pleasant. We will return...and often!

Wonderful experience. Wish only that we might have been able to order a simple fruit or vegetable for a 1 year old. Prix fixe Mother's day menu for a small child does not work.
We ate here for the first time last weekend. The food was excellent. I had the filet which was very good. My wife had pasta which was also very good. And of course we had 'K-pie' for dessert which was amazing. Our server was a somewhat odd older gentleman who never introduced himself and seemed a little out of sorts. He was very nice though. We would go back again.
My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and thought we would try out the restaurant. The atmosphere was exquisite and our service was impeccable. We both had the pork chop, which was amazing. Our server was attentive, but not overbearing and allowed us to enjoy our time together, while quietly taking care of serving our needs. Overall, a wonderful experience and our first time at the restaurant. Well done!!
Great & special
The only drawback we found with this restaurant was the wine list. It is too small for the caliber of food, service & price. We were very happy with the mixed drinks we chose instead but the wine would have complimented the visit better.

For the first time, my husband and I were disappointed in Paulette's. The food was okay but not great. The server was preoccupied with other tables. We were seated at the front by the front door. It was very loud and not special.
Incredible meal, incredible view
Nothing beats watching the sun go down into the Mississippi while having a wonderful dinner.

Very disappointed. Not what it used to be. Service ( I believe his name was Ryan) was not very good. Food was okay but not great. We will not be coming back. Miss the old Paulette's at Overton Square.
This place was the spot to have my date. I loved every minute of it. She did too
View and location great, food OK
I have been a Paulette's customer over 30 years so I have followed the menu from Overton Square to River Inn and after several meals in the "new" location I realize the menu lacks it's former uniqueness. The popovers and strawberry butter and desserts are great as usual but they should not be the only highlight of an expectedly fine meal. The soup selection is wanting the alternative that used to be Hungerian Gulyas and Cheddar Cheese. The entrees lack the variety which included chicken kabobs and more seafood choices. I just wanted you to know that any night of the week may be a special occasion so try and offer those items that used to make Paulette's extra special on every menu.

The service was surly and the food fair at best which is a hugh disappointment. We've been going to Paulette's for over 25 years, however this is my last time.
Paulette's is perfection!
My date and I went to Paulette's for our dinner on prom night and it was absolutely amazing!! He got filet mignon and I got chicken sicilian, and we got the k-pie for dessert! Fabulous!!!!
Expensive breakfast for what is served
We were in Memphis for a wknd festival from Nashville. I plan our breakfasts and dinners because we love food as much as the events. I had read many reviews on Paulette's and was eagerly awaiting our breakfast reservation. $18 that included your choose of a few plates, juices, coffee muffins and croissants. Our food arrived cold although it was not crowded. Bacon, potatoes and eggs. The potatoes were out of the freezer they seemed borring. There was no flair, nothing yummy about any of it except the refills of croissants. About the food we were very dissapointed. Now the good part.... The atmosphere and location was lovely. I loved being there. It was bright, pretty, upscale and quite pleasurable. I pay for atmosphere so I mostly drank coffee and ate croissants, bacon and jam. I would for sure return. P.s. Grt service too.
I love the wedge salad with salmon. Great healthy meal!
Nice find, not for the younger later crowd, rushed
Heard and read great reviews. Unfortunately the great menu ambiance and wine list was coupled with a rushed atmosphere. Thursday night last seating at 8:45, then told kitchen closes at 9:00 so we need to get our orders in. Food and service was pleasant but not up to the hype. Memphis old world hospitality not really apparent at Paullettes.

Restaurant is in a great location right on the water. We came at 5:30 and there wasn't many people so we were very promptly waited on. Even as more people came to dine, the noise level remained low. Our waiter was very professional and courteous. He offered to close the curtains in anticipation of the sun before it was even an issue. Food was great. The wine list was impressive. Food is spendier than an average restaurant but worth the money for the quality and ambiance.
Everything is delicious!!
Everything is delicious!!
Ask for Donna for your server for dinner and Chris for Breakfast. All amazing and perfect.
My husband and I tried out Paulette's for dinner and breakfast as first time guests at River Inn. The convenience, quality of food and overall atmosphere was excellent. we both had fish as entrees, my arugula salad was delicious as well. Bread was heavenly! So many choices. can't wait to return.
Great start to an Awesome Night
We went to Memphis from Savannah to take in the Billy Joel concert. Before the concert we went to Paulette's for dinner. We are used to fantastic restaurants being from Savannah, but Paulette's exceeded our expectations. The location was perfect and the atmosphere set the tone. We enjoyed a great meal and would definitely recommend. We looking forward to finding a reason to go back.

We have loved Paulette's for 30 years. Haven't made it to Memphis much recently. Still as good as ever. New location is so much more convenient.
We come here annually and bever leave unhappy!
Every year, my wife and I celebrate our anniversary at the same restaurant; Paulette's. We shared our first meal as a married couple here and will hopefully be able to share every anniversary from here out enjoying what has to be the best popovers, stuffed mushrooms, Filet Paulette, and hot chocolate crepe anywhere to be found. The restaurant is romantically lit and just off the Mississippi River, it is impossible to miss the beautiful sunset gleaming through the front Windows. I would recommend Paulette's to anyone planning to make a special night more than just memorable!

Amazing Girls' Night Out Restaurant
We chose Paulette's for our girls' night out and were very pleased. Popovers with strawberry butter are obviously a favorite. The Sea Bass was phenomenal. Also, even if you aren't a huge coffee fan, you MUST try the "K-Pie" dessert. It is so incredibly delicious but beware, it is HUGE and can easily feed 3-4 people. Paulette's is on my top 10 favorite restaurants in Memphis!

Dinner Ruined by Wait Staff
Ambiance :great - best feature. Food Good- though not great and skimpy in serving size related to price, especially the starters..which were a practical rip-off. Total turn - off and why I would not recommend to friends and why I will not return : the creepy, rude waiter. After we'd finished our entrees, He brought the dessert menus to us( in black faux leather binders) and said"here are the separate checks"...it was a moment of awkwardness for me and my date, then the waiter laughed and said... no this is the desert menu.. ?? Weird? And he hovered watching me eat, felt I had to keep picking up my fork to eat so he wouldnt 'come to whisk plate away...stood a few feet away in shadows along with another lady( ?)watching continuously.. not in a good way to anticipate needs but felt Iwas being rushed so he could clear plates and get us out of there,, though restaurant was less than half filled - lots of empty tables. Overall a disappointment and an embarrassment to me as I had tried to plan a nice dinner for out of town guest .
Paulettes at the River Inn
Paulettes at the river Inn is a neighborhood gem! Beautiful live piano music in the lounge. Traditional atmosphere, age appropriate, not for the "hip" crowd but for those who think bread service are "popovers" is something really special. Service was really exceptional when I had to cancel my order and re-order when told that the sea bass was all sold out.
