I came here with two colleagues and a prospective candidate for my office. While our reservation was for 7 PM, we arrived very early and were seated at 6:20. Water service, bread, and even the appetizer (calamari) came promptly, but from our meal order to its arrival on our table was 45 minutes. This seemed outrageously long to wait, considering the restaurant was not very busy at all. Desserts were enjoyed by all.

We have enjoyed Parazade in the past, but the food left a lot to be desired this visit. The Caesar Salad was mediocre at best. Chopped Romaine with a marginal Caesar dressing on the side as requested. I ordered the ribeye and it came with the mushroom/onion topping as promised. That’s it. I would have expected a vegetable to accompany it, but just the steak and a poor quality steak at that. Too much gristle for the size of the piece of meat. My spouse’s eggplant dish was satisfactory. We will wait awhile before returning.

Although several options for dinner in especially nice (not necessarily opulent) surroundings exist throughout Durham, Parizade is a good gathering place for people coming from different parts of the Triangle. In this case, we had requirements for separately vegetarian, mollusk free and gluten free meals. The chef was especially accommodating for our gluten free guest, preparing the meal she most wanted while removing the small amount of wheat in the sauce.

The service was outstanding. The food was fresh, creative and tasty, however, it could have been a little warmer. I ordered the grilled salmon - delicious, but not warm enough. The dessert plate (a variety of sample bites created by the chef) was absolutely stunning in presentation, fun to share with family and a nice surprise. Of course, we paid for it!

Food was fabulous at "Greek Night'. It was a buffet, but service was not very good. We waited a very long time to just get our drinks and even longer to get our bill. Last Sunday was their annual Greek festival. We prefer a courtyard table with the waterfall and trees and garden. It was an outstanding event, as it has been the last 4 years I have attended. The food was fresh, abundant and delicious! The service was incredible even with a full house of patrons. Entertainment included continuous Greek music, belly dancer, hoopla- hoop dancer, flame swallower, plus games for prizes. Everyone had a great time. Giorgios, the owner, is always on hand dancing with his patrons and mingling throughout the entire evening - he truly wants everyone to have a good time. Don't miss this event next year - you will love it!!

We were referred by a friend , so we went for my wife's birthday. We liked the place, but were not impressed at all with the food. Shrimp appetizer was not tasty. Something as basic as a Ceasar salad was not even enjoyable. I was not concerned with the price, though it was somewhat high, but the quality should have been higher even at a lower price. I haven't told the friend that referred me, so I'm hoping he doesn't ask.

We were in Durham for a concert on our anniversary. We chose Parizade after reviewing the menus from several area establishments. Parizade easily exceeded our expectations. We had the grouper with shellfish in a bouillabaisse broth - excellent! We complemented it with the sautéed squash - perfect. For desert we had the Tunisian Orange Cake - wonderful. We will definitely be back.

Parizade has been a favorite for years! The food is consistently excellent, the service attentive, and the atmosphere surprisingly intimate for a large restaurant. It bothers me that I have to ask for the price of the food as the waiter recites the specials of the day...surely there is a way to graciously include the cost. It's "upscale" but, most diner's don't have limitless money to spend.

Have not visited this facility for about 3 years. Generally about the same except for the personnel changes. Food considered very good and service acceptable . Atmosphere a bit noisy .
Value ?--overpriced . Our guests loved the swordfish and scallops. Still a solid ,enjoyable, classy place to go in Durham-- after all these years.
( The downside of this one visit was spilled ice water on chairs and floor , $33 special whole flounder overpriced, too much garlic , and new personnel did not know anything about " OpenTable".)

was there Friay August 5th for dinner. The waitress was exceptional. we were dining w/friends we hadn't seen in quite awhile. waitress NEVER interrupted the conversation to "ask" if everything was ok..but was obviously aware of our every move; frequently circulating by the table, extremely attentive to refill water, remove used plates, utensils etc., and would 'ask' our needs at just the appropriate times--without interrupting conversation. I can't tell you how impressed we were with her service. this was not our first time here..and we will definitely be back.

Some of the food was delicious, specially the rack of lamb and the gnocchi with lamb and peas appetizer. Other food, not so much. The salad had strawberries and sliced almonds, when some chopped walnuts or pecans would have made all the difference. The waiter also had a pepper mill that was not grinding properly and so he loaded my salad with whole peppercorns. The mashed potatoes that came with the lamb rack really didn't need the feta in it.
As for the wait staff, it was a Monday so maybe it was the B team, but they all seamed very somber, like they didn't want to be there. That said the y were polite and somewhat professional. I appreciated the fact that we were not rushed. The biggest challenge, is the price to wow factor; it is not that the food is bad but the BlueApron Catfish we cooked ourselves the next day was better.

I enjoy going to Parizade because the friendly ambiance, consistently good food, and good service. It is also one of the few places in NC that provide a table cover. I also like being able to see the kitchen where the food is being cooked.
