Such a disappointment. Average food, poor service, low value, would not recommend when so many choices.
Made 615p reservation, OpenTable advises free self park or $7 valet. This is not true! There is no valet for other than overnight guest, and free parking is a joke. When we left stopped at Host Stand and were given two vouchers but advised only good for an hour and a half (2 of us drove). Didn't imagine the 0-4 hour rate was an additional $23 each after believing our $300+ dinner was accompanied by free parking. So up your tab by 15% due to exceedingly slow and inattentive service that will result in a 3+ hour dinner. Checked in first, second party came later and the check in told her they didn't know where we were sitting but she could look around. Really? They had just seated us with reservations.
Server showed up with three of us, we ordered a bottle of wine, a glass of wine, and brushetta. The brushetta came later, was decent, but lots of topping would have been great if he had shown up with break he promised in a timely manner. We didn't get bread until we were well into the entrees.
Other parties arrived and we ordered more wine. Server (Wayne) consistently disappeared for long periods. Getting additional drinks, etc., was challenging at best. Maybe he was overworked or something? No explanation or apology when we had to remind him of things he forgot.
Entrees included 2 Spaghetti, 2 Tortellini, and a salmon, They were okay, however, nothing outstanding. Maybe equal to a Bravo or Mac Grill level. Certainly not what one would expect from such an acclaimed restaurant. Ordered desserts, they were okay.
All in all a disappointment. $317 tab, tipped 20% but not sure why. Because I feel like servers should be, and paid the extra $56 (the other party couldn't get what amounted to a $10 voucher for parking to work) for parking.
Have stayed at the JW for a night before. It is a nice property. Don't recommend anything other than the bar for a drink.
My clam pasta was a bit bland and little amount of clams. My guests thought the gnocchi was tasty. We ordered pizza for appetizer but it came out the same time as our dinner. I'd go back to try other foods and then make a decision later if I'd recommend to others. The ambience is hip and trendy.
Very nice restaurant, but our biggest issues were: Our appetizer was over cooked, so pretty chewy. We had to wait almost an hour to get our food. Once our food arrived, it was good but not something I would rave about. Maybe we just caught them on a bad night.
Tight sitting quarters. Our little table of 2 was about 2 feet away from the next table, which made it quite awkward when the waiter was tending to them, and his rear was practically in our face (not his fault). Noisy, and scurried atmosphere. As for the food, the tomato sauce had a bitter taste, with a strange aftertaste. Perhaps that is authentic Italian, but we did not enjoy it. Good wine, and very good, friendly service. Too bad the food couldn't match the service.
Apparently no quiet tables exist at this modern Italian spot. We wanted a place to gather after a family memorial service, 3 generations, 2 vegetarians, 4 foodies, 6 people just wanting to eat together and process the day. I'm sorry I picked this place, because it wasn't the right spot, but who knew-none of us live in Indiana.
I requested a quiet table on the Open Table reservation. I repeated this request when the restaurant called me the same day to confirm the reservation, which was at 6:30, I thought early enough not to be in the midst of peak dining time. We were seated at a round table in the absolute middle of the restaurant, which was already buzzing with conversations. The hostess was clueless when I pointed out that this was not by any means a quiet table. They finally reseated us at a banquette, which was tolerable, but the fact that this request was completely disregarded was upsetting, to say the least.
The food was fine, not terrific, not terrible. The best entree turned out the be the eggplant, which I ordered, and was NOT your father's eggplant parm, but rather thinly sliced eggplant encasing ricotta and greens. It was well prepared and flavorful, very nice. The others at the table said their entrees (pasta and clams, and another with tortelloni) were rather bland, not memorable.
This is not a place for conversation or romance. It's more about making a splash, which just isn't all that impressive any more.
The food was very good however the waiter and staff continued to try to take our plates. If we set our fork down for one moment someone would try to grab your plate to clear. We obviously had plenty of food on our plates and were not finished. After 7 or 8 times it became extremely annoying. Otherwise I enjoy food.
Cannot recommend this restaurant. Décor good, but food a big disappointment. A limited menu, and lasagna was too salty, the spaghetti was bland, service was mediocre. Don't know what kind of place J.W. Marriot was trying to create, but starting over would be a good idea.
The decor is sleek, modern, and clean. We were seated promptly when we checked in at our reserved time. The service was friendly and efficient. A calamari/shrimp appetizer featured freshly prepared calamari that was tender and delicious. The salmon main course was seared perfectly. I look forward to returning when I am in Indy again.
I had a HORRIBLE experience. Booked a 5:15 pm reservation. Checked in with hostess at 5:08 pm. Was told I arrived too early and that I'd need to wait to be seated until my reservation time. Was seated a few minutes later in a restaurant with three other patrons. WTF? Food was mediocre. Italians would be rather mortified. Server was pleasant but nervous. Didn't offer a second glass of wine, likely because the hostess kept checking my table to see when I was done. Couldn't stand having her hovering so often,
The garage parking at the JW Marriott for this dinner, using my self parking was RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was at dinner 2 hours, 15 minutes and my parking ticket was $33. What is wrong with you???? This will keep me from returning to this restaurant ever at this location. I was a female diner who did not want to be out on the Indianapolis streets alone going to another garage.
When it first opened, Osteria Pronto was a fabulous restaurant. Outstanding food. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case. I had not been there for several years, and hoped it had regained its original excellence. The food is mediocre to poor. I won't go back.
Reservations at 6:30, as we had a concert at 7:30. Seated at 6:35, ordered within 10 minutes. 7:10 - asked a manager what the delay was since we hadn't seen our server since ordering. Relayed information about our reservation and asked if we should be able to get in and out in 1 hour. He said yes, but they were really busy that night. Dinner appeared. Manager came to ask if food was okay, but never apologized for delay. Will not eat here in the future. I would hope that management would be prepared for reservations and not take walk-ins if they cannot offer an efficient level of service.
