Osteria Mattone Ratings and Reviews

Love everything about this restaurant! The food was amazing...everything from the bread to salad to pasta. The service was topnotch. The ambiance was so nice, with beautiful styling and a great patio plus firepit. We're already looking forward to our next visit!
Fantastic night celebrating two birthday ...
Fantastic night celebrating two birthdays in our party of 4. Mark, our waiter, was entertaining and had a great personality that truly made our evening. He knew the menu and the wine list well. The food was delicious...just about all their pasta is homemade. So, of course, we all had pasta! The owners, Ryan and Dan, were in the restaurant which adds such a nice touch to the evening. Ryan was very engaging and went out of his way to make sure we had a great night. Well, done Osteria Mattone!!

I went to this restaurant with out of town guests and wanted the pick a special place with great food as oppose to a well known chain. The service was good and the place was lovely with easy parking which is a big deal in historic Roswell but the food was mediocre and expensive for what it was.

I had a salad and the sea bass entree. The salad was mixed greens with some added veggies and supposedly dressed with lemon/oil. I say supposoedly becuase it was basically non existent which turned the salad into rabbit food. Should have sent it back. I understand the risks of overdressing a salad but this was the other extreme.
The sea bass was filleted so thinly that not only was poor value but dry because whatever fish was on the fillet must have cooked immediately once it hit the grill.
The sauteed spinach was excellent.

Roswell festival night - so live music surrounded the patio. The patio is the place to be - fabulous outdoor seating, fire pit at center, lovely green fence. From host Brittany: perfect welcome, amazing attention to detail, warm, friendly, patient: you can't get better, let alone in Roswell. She set the tone for a perfect experience: Emily at the bar, who was charming, friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable; Christiean as server, friendly, professional, informed. We had mozzarella & calamari appetizers, shortrib pasta, duck cannelloni, a fab Cab wine, Sam Smith's beer, and a dessert beverage that was outstanding (the Direct). It was far enough from the chaos of the downtown festival but right next to a superb singer at a nearby restaurant, who kept us humming along with her performance as we chatted and enjoyed a late dinner. Literally one of the best dining experiences I've ever had in this area. Can't say enough about how perfect it was. You must try it - and make an evening out of the Roswell experience.

This restaurant gets 4 stars. The food was good, the staff was attentive, and the atmosphere was nice. I can't give it 5 stars for one reason, there is little to no parking for the restaurant, I had to park a few streets away, and walk to the restaurant. Besides that great date night idea.

Exceptional! Had a few of my friends join me for lunch. The food was incredible and of great value. Joseph, our server, was charming and very knowledgeable. I noticed how the staff flowed together. If you haven't been able to experience this hidden gem you must go. Will be back.

Lovely outdoor patio in Roswell, just up the street from the main square so more peaceful and ample parking!! Always love seeing artichoke hearts on the menu, and the salmon was deliciously fresh and cooked to perfection upon requesting it medium rare. Nice wine list. We dined this time for Sunday lunch so will look forward to coming back for dinner next time.

We had 3 appetizers and desert/coffee no entrees. Excellent octopus, tender, just a little char, excellent. Fried eggplant was average and was a small dish for $12.00 that was too simply prepared and not enough mozzarella. Grilled artichokes were good, not great. Salted caramel bread pudding portion was small and did not have enough bread pudding texture via cubed bread and the salted caramel taste could have been more robust.
It was OK but not great

Atmosphere is nice. Outside looked pretty as well. We sat inside. We ordered the baratta mozzarella which was disappointing. It was a large "glob" of barratta that was way to much. It smothered the tomato chunks. It had no flavor. Not enough balsamic Arugula salad with lemon vinaigrette had way to much lemon. I had the seafood pasta which was great. Nice use of nutmeg in the sauce. The brisket ravioli was good as well. The dessert we chose was an apple pastry. The pastry part was very tough and chewy. Service was very good.

This restaurant is a great restaurant because of their incredibly delicious food and the atmosphere. We ordered the spaghetti alla carbonara and the signature dish that had ox in it. Both were incredibly delicious. The waitress told us that all of the pastas were made in house and you could definitely tell. The atmosphere was incredible. Its inside seating is small due to it being in an old house, but it doesn't feel cramped at all. It's very personal and homey. I would highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion, especially dates.

Excellent wine tasting and then dinner! Daniel did a great job picking out really good wine for us to try. We stayed on the patio for dinner and Mark was our waiter. He did a fabulous job! We were celebrating my birthday so I was treated to a dessert of choice which I selected the bread pudding which was to die for. Thank you for a great afternoon/evening!

I love the look & feel of the restaurant. Our server was very nice & thorough. We LOVED the bread, it was so fresh! I ordered the dinner salad & I must admit it was quite dry, I should have asked for more dressing. Our dinner was wonderful & we ordered the olive appetizer & dipped our bread in the oil & if we weren't so full we may have asked for more bread. I liked we weren't rushed out the door & could have a good time. It is a bit loud, so if you want a quiet "romantic" dinner I'm not sure it would work, but if you want a fun evening, I highly recommend it. One suggestion I have - in the ladies room an additional soap dispenser could be added, I had to excuse myself & reach across someone to get soap from the dispenser.

I always have a great time here, especially with a good group of friends. This was my first time since their new head chef started and his food was fantastic! We loved sharing appetizers and pastas along with great wine. Thanks as always, OM!

The attention to detail and quality of services and food is one of the best around the Roswell area. Along with a very good wine list, the options of appetizers and entrees make it very easy for me to come back for many more times. Lastly, Anna was very helpful, knowledgeable and gave us the space we needed throughout the evening. Next time will try eating outside as the venue has a wonderful setting!
