Our visit to Norman's was due to mandatory evacuation from our home from Hurricane Matthew. Although the hotel was a refuge for many, service did not suffer in the slightest. Food was delicious, and our server, David, was extremely friendly and attentive. We always try to eat at Norman's when in the area...never disappoints!

Our server Lionel was awesome!!!!! Food spectacular as always. This time we were evacuated from the coast for Hurricane Matthew and it never crossed my mind to go anywhere else. Great hotel (JW Marriott), Starbucks, awesome restaurants (shared with Ritz) and Prisoner (wine) by the glass -what more could you ask for????

Food was excellent. Would have liked to have been offered the cheese course (which they forgot). Also made a mistake on the special occasion menu given to our friends which we were celebrating their 26tj anniversary.

Our first time. Yes, it lives up to its reputation! The shrimp ceviche has great balance of flavor and lots of shrimp. Their sea bass on top of a nice, creamy risotto was wonderful. The Steak Tataki was a bit small (but it is Tapas) and had a salty, briny flavor. Their foie gras on their french toast was masterfully cooked and the "toast" gave it a nice balance, almost bordering on too sweet. Do yourself a favor and only order a half portion (unless you're sharing). Service was splendid as well.

Very disappointing experience for my party and a number of others that waited an unreasonable amount of time after reservation time for a table. I showed up 20 minutes early only to be seated 45 minutes after reservation time. Apparently the outdoor terrace was not set for patrons although many had been offered a table on the terrace upon arrival. Once enough people began storming out, the manager set the Terrace...which took another 25 minutes. Food was mediocre. At best, so not sure why so many high reviews. Front of house very poorly managed. The only bad experience during my entire 5 day stay at the Ritz. Won't go back to Norman's. They need to train their front end and get more experienced hosts/hostesses and train managers to intervene prior to being left with appeasing angry diners. Also, they don't enforce the dress code so was seated next to people who arrived in cutoff shorts, flip flops and wet hair from the pool. This is simply not respectful to the guest expecting a more civilized experience.

My experiences at Norman's consistently exceed the already high expectations that I have when it comes to fine dining. The ambiance and authenticity are complemented by an attention to detail that is reminiscent only to that of The Ritz-Carlton, which is exactly where Chef Van Aken's culinary masterpiece is located. A written testiment of the service and food quality is but an attempt to accurately describe what can only be experienced. I can only compare my dinner at Norman's to a well composed symphony, each finely tuned note fitting perfectly together in order to form an even more beautiful melody. If you would like to have a good meal, I can recommend hundreds of restaurants in the surrounding area. But if you would like to have a truly exceptional dining experience, I recommend Norman's at The Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes.

This is our 2nd visit to Norman's and both times have been exceptional from service to food quality and taste. Both times we celebrated our wedding anniversary and the staff went above and beyond to make it a wonderful experience for us. We are big fans of Chef Norman Van Aken and we absolutely love this restaurant!

The food was delicious. My husband and I ordered off the menu, not the tasting menu. I had the conch chowder and red snapper. My husband had the foie gras and sea bass. We ended with a selection of cheeses. From beginning to end, all excellent! The service was wonderful. We had great conversations with the GM (and "wine guy") and the cheese server. He was planning a trip to KC - where we're from - so we recommended a favorite BBQ place to him. Norman's is well worth a visit!

We come to Norman's once a year and have been doing so since 2008.It never disappoints.
This year I (as ever) took the Tasting Menu and Wine Pairing. My wife chose from the A La Carte Menu. My wife enjoyed the Empanadas, then Scallops and Filet Mignon. From the Tasting Menu, the Kobia, Poussin and Bison were great. The Octopus was a bit bland; cheese portions small and dessert was OK, but not stunning. Wine pairings were good but Reds more characterful than Whites.
David is a great server, so ask for him.
We'll be back again next year.
