Negril Village Ratings and Reviews

I went to Saturday Brunch for the very first time this past weekend. First of all it was hard to get a reservation at this time and I can see why. Tons of people are trying to get in and get something to eat. Not only is the food good, but the atmosphere and ambiance is as well. It's a really good place to go and hang out with friends on the weekend.

Negril Village is a pretty and clean restaurant. I love the setup and the ambiance! The restaurant is great for any occasion, including a romantic date, birthday dinner, brunch...ect. This is even a nice place to host an event. The bar is nice, the drinks are good, and the wait staff is friendly. On another note, I would definitely ensure that you have a taste for TRUE Carribean cuisine before going. That's one thing I wish the wait staff would've explained to my party, during the introduction, before we ordered. Maybe just giving a brief "introduction" on Carribean cuisine and what to expect from the food, ESPECIALLY for first timers.
The only other area of opportunity that I noticed during my visit was the lack of compassion and customer service from the manager on duty. Myself, as well as another person in my party, had an issue with our dishes and the manager on duty's approach to our issues were not friendly or accommodating. This was especially disheartening because it put a damper on our moods. Not to mention, it was my birthday dinner. As a manager in the customer service field, I know first hand how the situation should have been handled, in contrast to how the situation was handled.
Aside from that small issue, this is a great place to go for brunch or dinner. Hopefully, the managerial staff will work on their compassion and customer service skills, so that ALL customers will remained please. Overall, I rated my experience with 4 stars.

I was verydisappointed on how my daughter's bridal shower squad and family was treated , on Saturday Oct 8, 2016we had 3 reservations only to be told we couldnt be accomodated in that manner, we had to do brunch, we wanted to order from the menu. And then , we couldnt get separate tickets. My daughter and financee was told , they would have to get money from each individuals. This is just a brief. Statement. Then upon checkout ,was told credit card machine was down , had to pay cash. Who carries 1100$ . ATM down also. So server took them outside, saying they would need some collaratal to let them go. So between family members they out in the front of the trying to come up with the cash.. very unethical. Having family members that work in banking, this should of not happened, thats what technicsl support is for to get system back on line. Very unprofessional establishment. Needs audited.

Food was excellent; however service was not. Due in part to a large party of about 9, that were seated right next to us. The ladies were loud with the conversations, therefore taking away from what the ambiance should have been.

Food is great. Table service was great, entertainment was AWESOME, but the maitre d sucked. rude, Rude, RUDE! Had a reservation at 2:00, but didn't get a table until 2:45! What's the point of making a reservation when it still takes 45 minutes to get seated. Couple that with a rude person controlling the seating, and it almost ruins what would have been an AWESOME dinning experience.

I only had two "complaints" - parking (oh my gosh! getting out of there was a nightmare!) and it was waaay too loud inside, especially with the live band. There was no way to have a meaningful conversation with my friend.
However, the service was great, the food was good and the people watching was ... unbelievable.

I had the Sunday brunch. Enjoyed the DJ, but wish there was a designated space for dancing, besides right there standing next to your table where u could invade he space of ur neighbor.
The food as amazing, and very tasty. Drinks were nice and strong. Ambiance very nice.
But most of all, enjoyed the service from Gary. The tip is already included in the brunch, so he isn't have to be as nice as he was nor did he have to deliver over he top servic.... but he did that. He was so amazingly sweet, very attentive, overly thoughtful, and smiled the entire time. Even when he as away from our table, he would give us a smile from across he room to catch our attention to see if we needed anything so as not to be overly intrusive. He is truly a gem. :-)

The atmosphere was amazing! Greatfood, music, drinks and service. The only reason they get 4 stars is the hostesses. They weren't friendly or helpful at all. The credit card machine wasn't working and it was a huge inconvenience for a party of 12 people.

I had gone to Negril Village for Brunch a few months back for what turned out to be a not-so pleasant experience. The place was packed indoors and out and we had a long wait. After waiting outside for over two hours our party of 12 was seated. We entered the restaurant greeted by a small band playing music so loud that we were unable to hear each other as we walked. Escorted through the dinning area I was so happy when we were taken to a back stairwell to be seated upstairs. Once seated we were within 20 feet of a DJ Station playing Hip-HOP at a volume higher then most night clubs. We could not even talk to each other, screaming or not. We were told we could only order from the buffet upstairs and from the looks was no where near the value of the cost. After 10 minutes are entire group just left. The loud noise ruining what could have been a relaxing brunch.
Now I will say the ambiance is very nice, It is an old renovated fire house which is really quite beautiful. So much so I decided to try it again this week with a date for my Birthday. This time on a Tuesday and with reservations the restaurant was busy but far from full. We were seated immediately but sat at the table un greeted for about seven minutes. Finally a waiter come over and asked if we had been helped (Don't you know!). We ordered drinks and after ten minutes we ordered dinner. About twenty minutes after ordering we inquired about our drinks, about 10 minutes after that our drinks came followed closely (30 seconds) by dinner. I had ordered the Jerk Chicken. The flavor was terrific how ever the chick pieces where cut in such a manner that when slow cooked all of the bones fractured leaving small pieces of bone throughout. I spent the dinner picking bone out of my mouth. This place would appear to have so much promise and with the amount of business form the two times I was in there it will probable survive until the next big thing. No fine dinning here a hip spot with no substance for the young.

The hosting staff was very accommodating after we missed our reservation due to the entire party not being present. We went upstairs instead and did the brunch which was great; food, dj, and the drinks outside of the bottomless mimosas. They gave everyone in my party who had them a headache for the rest of the day and night.

this is definitely a hotspot. I appreciate being able to book my reservation thru open table. the parking was a bit rough due to downtown activities but once inside ...the food, drinks and ambiance were great. this was my first time sitting outside and I loved it.

The service was a bit slow. I received the wrong entree but I ate it anyway because we were waiting for quiet some time. The waitress rarely came by to check otherwise I would have returned my dish for the correct one.

The host was really not that pleasant. The restaurant was quiet and they acted as if it was busy with seating us. Our server was awesome! Nakisha gave us good recommendations and stayed on top of our table. The appetizers were good and fresh. Out entrees were lukewarm. I'm sure the oxtails were previously made but we always keep ours simmering . I guess they don't. I love the drinks and will come back for drinks and appetizers.

Im originally from the Bahamas and flew in from St. Louis and was looking for authentic Caribbean food. This place satisfied!! I was nervous because I have had Americanized Caribbean food but this was the real deal. The curry mutton and oxtail a were fresh and very tender. The cabbage was sautéed to perfection. Plantain was sweet!! And an ice cold Kalik straight from the Bahamas. Reminded me of home!!

Food was really tasty but slightly overpriced. Drinks were great (Rum Punch). Service was good even though they didn't honor a special that was advertised on their website... No effort made to even compromise on that special. The place was basically empty (for busy downtown on a Thrusday evening after 7). Has potential and will give it a try at least once again.
