I had dined at this restaurant several times over the years while on business in the area; however, it has been several years. I was really looking forward to coming back as I had recalled the great ribs and complementary items on the menu. Unfortunately, I found the ribs, while good, nothing spectacular. Since it was Friday for lunch, I almost wonder if we got ribs left over from Thursday night. The flavor was only average. In addition, the baked potato was not hot. Basically, I felt the food was average but very high priced. I would have thought for the price that at least a side salad would be included. I have had better flavored ribs while not as meaty at Chili's and much better side items. Other restaurants like Twelve Bones in Asheville, North Carolina have a much better flavored rib at similar or lower prices. I will not recommend this restaurant to any friends unless I decide to return and find that this experience was just an anomaly.

Our server, Kimberly, was great and made what the place lacked in food quality a decent dining experience.
Food quality could be better; I tried the original ribs and it was OK; the other items (crab cakes, chicken wings) were actually poor quality. My colleague enjoyed his St Louis style ribs, though!
Great views, and we got a show because of thunder and lightning!

The service at the Boathouse is miserable. Bartender, hostess, waitress and bus boys were awful. The bartender ignored us while we were standing at the bar and even took away the menu we were looking at. The hostess was mad that we asked for a booth instead of a table. After we sat at the table, many booths opened. We asked to move to a booth, which they were not pleased about. Then they changed our waitress. She must have been on her way out when they told her she had another table because she was not pleased to see us. We very rarely saw her until she brought the check and it was time for the tip to be applied. The bus boys couldn't wait for us to finish. They asked multiple times if we were "done with that?" This restaurant could be amazing. It has wonderful views of the Ohio River, but that doesn't make up of the horrible service. I would not recommend this establishment to a friend or enemy. It is very expensive for the quality of food and service provided.

Great date site and we were seated immediately. The open table reservation process was great as well. The server was somewhat new but did a great job. I've also been there for my daughters wedding rehearsal dinner, fantastic place. Service was great, outdoor view of the river was very nice. I grew up across the river and was able to see how it has changed. It would be nice if there were some readible signage on some of the memorabilia that could be read from a few tables away!

We arrived to the restaurant 40 minutes early and we were seated as soon as we checked in. We were so surprised, we didn't expect to be seated so soon.
We were seated with a great river view without asking. The only problem was that the 2 person tables that we were seated at were very close together and even the waitress had a hard time moving between our table and the window table. Noone tried to move the table even though comments were made about the tightness.
All in all it was a good experience.

We arrived and really weren't pleased with our first seat..we were here for a special occasion. The manager took note and moved us once a table became available.Unfortunately the new sever seemed almost bothered by this but we assured her we would take care of her.The food was great..the atmosphere was perfect...we had a nice time.Wish the second server would have been as friendly as everyone else..we would have tipped even more than our usual 25%had we not felt almost unwanted.Overall though we will definitely be back and we spoke highly to all of our friends about our evening!!

I absolutely love the Montgomery Inn Boathouse - great atmosphere and food. Unfortunately, I was gravely disappointed this last time.
I have a severe reaction towards gluten and they claim that they have gluten-free Saratoga Chips (my absolute fave!). But when I ordered them, they had fried something with flour in their gluten-free fryer and never cleaned it out. I came 2,200 miles for these chips and never got to have them.

Took my brother and sister-in-law from Denver. We had a great meal. I made a reservation and we were seated immediately. The waiter was friendly. My only negative is the busboy kept trying to clear the table when we were not all done.

I had an order of their famous ribs and it was obvious why they are famous. They were the best I have ever had! My baked potato, iced tea, and their bread topped off a terrific dinner. There were boats passing by on the river and the sun was setting in beautiful fashion. Altogether, it was a great experience. I have already recommended the restaurant to a friend and his wife.

Beautiful views, very classy interior. Food not all it is hyped up to be. Based on the price I paid I was disappointed in the food. I was expecting top quality and it was mediocre. Service was slow as well which the waitress made us aware of but also spent time blaming the kitchen and telling us it happens frequently. I felt that was really unprofessional. Overall it was nice for a date due to scenic views, seating spaced out and interior ambiance.

I put a note in my reservation asking for a private area due to this being an anniversary dinner. We were seated right in the middle of the lower dining area where it was loud and crowded. Upon looking around, it was obvious that the private areas were open. But my note was ignored so it was frustrating. My steak was terrible as well. It was completely charred. This has been the second time in a row we have attended and had a terrible experience. We visited on our honeymoon and it was amazing! I don't know what happened since then, but it is very disappointing.

Getting a reservation is pretty much pointless. After being told that a table would be ready in 15-20 minutes, we waited for almost 50 minutes before we were seated. Not to mention the fact that we were buzzed to get a table, only to be told that it was a mistake. We were then directed to our section where we stood around for 5-10 minutes while the staff ignored us. When we went to the only open table to seat ourselves, we were told to go wait by the entrance until someone came to help us.

celebrated our daughter's 13th birthday. Food was very good as always, and atmosphere is pretty good. Tables a bit too close to each other, felt like we were sitting right on top of another group, but other than that everything was great!

My son, mother-in-law, sister and brother-in-law were joining me on the first wedding anniversary since my husband of 25 years passed away. My husband always loved the Boathouse which was why I selected this restaurant to dine with those who are close to me and could understand my grief.

The food and service was good but was very disappointed in the dining. We asked for outside since the dining are was very load. I was anticipating a seat outside with a beautiful/romantic view and didn't get that. We were sent outside tucked away on the side of the building with a terrible view. The chair and table we old, plastic and dirty looking. There were spiderwebs on the railing in which our table was up against. Not even a third of the seats on the second level balcony were being used. Zero romantic setting. It was very disappointing due to it being my wife's first visit to the city and restaurant. for the price and potential views I was highly disappointed.

I've known the Gregory's (Owners) from the start when at the beginning in Montgomery the coat room was behind the bar. Maybe before Dean was born?? We've been going ever since. Trying now to get them to come to Naples, FL. Now a more year-round destination which would serve them well.

My son is a freshman at UC. On our first time back to Cincinnati to visit and celebrate his grandfather's 82 birthday it was suggested by a long time Cincinnati resident to try this place. One of there favorites is what they said. My chicken tasted like it had a whole jar of paprika on it. Grandpa's burger was beyond done. Both sides were very charred. The brisket and ribs were OK, not great. The service was very good.
