The name "Milwaukee" comes from an Algonquian word Millioke, meaning "Good", "Beautiful" and "Pleasant Land" as the Milwaukee area was originally inhabited by the Fox, Mascouten, Potawatomi, and Ho-Chunk (Winnebago) native American tribes. Millioke Meat Cheese and Beer is dedicated to the heritage within in its name. Millioke's Midwestern Cuisine is about foods true to the heartland featuring Wisconsin Dairy Products; cured smoked and grilled meats, and a variety of local favorite Craft Beers.

Our first visit was for Mother's Day Brunch. I was nervous as we had never even heard of the restaurant. It was FANTASTIC. The staff was very friendly. Our server Oliver was top-notch. Great tasting food. Excellent service and value. We will be back for sure!
Mom's Day Out
We went in for Mother's Day breakfast and our server Marvin was fantastic. He made our breakfast even better with his great personality. All of us had the Eggs Benedict. The hollandaise sauce was so silky and very tasty. We would definitely go back here for the breakfast. A little pricey but with the service we had it was definitely worth it.
Shauna Makes Millioke Even Better
My friend and I got together for dinner for the first time in years, and decided on Millioke. The food and ambiance were good, but the service really made the experience all the more special. Shauna is so friendly and attentive, and she has such a vivacious personality, that my friend and I were still remarking about her the day after our dinner.

Not a huge selection on the menu, but something for everyone. Tons of drink choices. Fancy decor for a casual place. I liked it.

Not sure if this is typical of a Sunday brunch, but we were one of two tables for brunch. The food is fantastic and the service is very friendly. Not the largest menu, but everything on it is fantastic.
I liked the private dining rooms although the chairs were not comfortable for dining. They would have been OK for relaxing and watching TV. Being able to close the glass doors for privacy is nice and somewhat romantic. Menu is somewhat limited. Wine selection was adequate
Prior trips here were later and I did not notice how noisy it is and unfortunately we were out as a group of 4, all family, and it was too noisy. Would try to get one of the side rooms in the future.
The NY Strip is incredible, and their cocktail list is great. Definitely recommend this spot.

We went in for lunch, but I could see dinner here being very fun! I enjoyed their spin on a pub favorite (cheese curds and beer gravy) as well as the baked goat cheese. We were in the mood to just split some appetizers this day. The sea salt caramel snores tart was amazing!
Excellent all around
The food choices were interesting and very well prepared. Everything tasted great. Beer menu had a lot of good choices as well.
Great menu and service
Food was delicious with plenty of options on the menu. Our waitress was wonderful! So friendly and had suggestions for all three courses plus the expansive beer list! Great place for those into craft beer and delicious food!

Went for dinner on a Friday night before a play at the Rep theater. The restaurant was pretty quiet, but had on large party, so my wife and I were shown to one of the side private alcoves/rooms. The arrangement was very comfortable and allowed us to talk easily. The food was good, somewhat standard fare, but probably to be expected from a hotel-affiliated restaurant. Our server understood our need to be out in time and accommodated our hurriedness without a problem. We enjoyed our experience here and would recommend it to others looking for a pleasant evening out.
It was a very nice night and our server was very good. I am just always disappointed when I have to send my steak back because it is not done the way I asked it to be. It was corrected. I had been for lunch and loved the atmosphere. It was a little louder at night which makes it harder for conversation. I do like the restaurant though.
Place was dead on a Friday night, should have taken the hint. I made the mistake of letting the waiter push the special, fish fry. It seemed as if it had been sitting around. I am sure there are better options in the area.
The interior looks amazing. I think the decor was almost worth the trip by itself. The servers were all very polite and helpful. We were there for lunch so I ordered the cheese-steak sandwich. The sandwich was not edible due to the fact that there was more fat (I hope that's what it was) than steak on it. Unfortunately I had to send the plate back to the kitchen. The soup that I ordered instead was good. Our waiter handled everything very well and did everything possible to fix the situation.
Staff & food excellent, a bit noisy for a meeting
Connected to the Marriott Hotel / the restaurant name is the original name of Milwaukee given to it from Native Americans. Spent time talking with the waiter about this. Nice bit of history. Much of the food comes from Wisconsin or in and surrounding Milwaukee. Excellent food, rich and unique blends. We had a booth. While the table was right sized for the booth, it was massive. It made sharing appetizers a bit tough and since we were having a late night meeting/dinner, it was important to be able to hear our party. That too was a bit tough. It was like eating on a butcher block the size of a pool table. Even with the over sized table, the food and service was very good.
Nice spot for a group lunch
We were seated promptly and our server Marvin was a delight. Everyone commented on how good their meal was. I will be going back.
Awesome restaurant. Great food!
I recommend asking for descriptions on the beer. The light beer had notes of clove...which I hate. I wouldn't never ordered it. The food was amazing!
Great Restaurant. Great Beer.
Love the Lakefront Brewery exclusive tap beers, cool to know my favorite Milwaukee Brewery does that for them. Wish I would've known about the NYE limited menu from the website, but it was good nonetheless. It was $110 before drinks which was a little overpriced but the meal was outstanding. I ultimately recommend the restaurant and I'm sure I will return for my 3 favorite things...Meat. Beer. Cheese.
OK, but will not return.
Reservations were for 6:15. Upon arrival, the hostess told us that they just had a large group come in, and that it might be awhile before we could get any food, so we should just "hang out at the bar and have some drinks." I explained we had tickets for the symphony, so we were on a time schedule. She stated "well we will try to get you out in time". I said "trying" was not going to work, and asked if we should go elsewhere. I wasn't trying to be rude, but we made reservations for a reason! She then said they would do their best. (?) We were taken to a table crammed in the middle of several other full and loud tables. I asked for a quieter table, which she did accommodate. Our waiter was great and we were out in plenty of time, so I appreciate that. The menu is small. I ordered the pork shank which they were out of (at 6:30?), so instead had the pasta, which was good, not great, but good. My husband had the steak which he said was good also. When the bill came, we had been charged for the pasta and the pork shank, which the waiter fixed promptly. So, all in all, it was an OK meal, but I would not return.
Great for pre-show dinner
Millioke is within pleasant walking distance from local show venues such the Riverside and Pabst Theaters. It's a great spot for a romantic pre-show dinner or an after show nightcap. Nice selection of locally sourced beers.
Drinks, food, and ambiance perfect! Went before a concert at the riverside, and could walk there after. Great spot, close to various theaters downtown. Decor was very modern and lit perfectly.
The service and ambience was good, but the food was just alright. The pork shank had little flavor and the salmon was a little overdone and dry. Also the presentation of appetizers and entrees was just not there, especially for the prices.
Good food but a bit pricey.
We were sat in one of their glassed in seating areas. The chairs were comfy and this area would be good for a small group as they can close the doors for a more private dining experience. The food was good (we had beef tenderloin and salmon, although the tenderloin was the better of the two) but it was a bit pricey for what you get. The menu is small and may not suit everybody but all the options appear gourmet. We ordered the beer cheese fondue with pretzel and it was excellent and the portion was excellent. We also ordered the Beer Mac and Cheese to share as it was raved about in other reviews. This is not your mothers mac and cheese. It is actually spaetzle with cheese. The flavor is VERY strong but it is really yummy! I don't think I could have eaten it by myself as the flavor does become a bit overwhelming after getting about half way through. It may be good to just share this one. Overall, very good restaurant!
Excellent turkey burger and fries. We try and go to Millioke every time we are in Milwaukee. Very convenient and a great selection of entrees.
Good, not great.
Really cool atmosphere. Trendy and classy. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Food was good but definitely on the expensive side for what you got (portion-wise and quality). And FYI, if you're looking at the poutine, expect it to be basically deep fried cheese curds with a gravy dipping sauce. Very tasty but it's a pretty loose interpretation of the dish. Again, portion was rather skimpy for the price. They did have some very interesting custom drinks that were well done. Supposedly they let their bartenders create their own drinks, then put them on the menu in a rotation. I would go back for sure but more than likely, just for the atmosphere and drinks.
Before going to the Riverside Theater, my wife and I decided to try dinner here. We were not disappointed. As we were a little rushed, we decided to order quickly and both decided on the "Build Your Own Burger" selection. I had the beef and my wife the turkey, both were excellent with my wife ordering the garlic parmesan fries and I ordered a small ceasar salad. We also tried the house specialty drinks which were very good. All are very good. Atmosphere was very nice, warm, and comfortable, along with the service which was great. Friends met up with us before leaving and selected from their great local large beer selection...a must try. We would go back, and highly recommend Millioke for a quick bit to eat or a very casual/formal dinner selection. Enjoy!!
Has Changed A LOT
We have been to Millioke several times in the past. It was always a a relaxed environment with an elegant sort of vibe to it. Not any more... and won't go back. The clientele has changed into people lounging around in T-shirts and sweat shirts. Guys sitting at their table with their knit hats on. Kids literally running around and one, who was way to old for this, was repeatedly climbing in and out of the booth from UNDER the table. Or I should say, his parents repeatedly allowed him to do this. Service was really slow considering at it's peak there were only nine tables filled. Our waiter introduced himself by telling us all the items, (including one entire section of the menu) they were out of. Mind you, this was 6:30 on a Friday night, a time when most restaurants would be fully stocked and ready to go for the weekend. After we ordered our appetizer, the waiter came back and told us they were out of that also. The food we had was very good, but a great dinning experience is about more than just the food. While it's always been associated with the Marriott, you would never have known that before. Now it truly feels like a hotel cafe. Last night it wouldn't have surprised me if someone had walked in wearing their swim suit with a towel draped over their shoulder.
Nice place to take clients, your boss, colleagues. They even have a couple of separate rooms that are enclosed with glass doors if you want a more private space; maximum capacity is 5 people.
Nice for hotel guests
Chose Millioke for proximity to The Riverside Theater. The dining room is huge with VERY large booths and some tables. Nice décor. No hostess to seat us and wait staff somewhat slow. The food was good, but the service not so good for a not so busy Sunday night. I don't think I'll revisit this restaurant.

Good service, ambiance. Happy hour prices until 6pm. Food was only ok, flatbread & cheese curds. Preferred their salads.
Great food and beer
Enjoyed our dining experience. Food was outstanding.
Good for a bite before an event
We have been here several times before attending an event@ the Riverside. If this was our 1st visit I am not sure that we would return. Not only was there a wedding in the hotel but also a birthday part that occupied half of the restaurant/bar. It was extremely busy and the service was slow. The menu is great for visitors to our city but boring if you are a local. We have always liked the specials but there were none that evening. The food was very good just nothing new. Also fyi to scotch drinkers, Great selection but also the most expensive I have come across in the city. We will most likely return due to the location but hope they change the menu soon !
Avoid the pasta and all will be well
Except for the pasta dish that lacked flavor and the shrimp was burned, the rest of the dishes ordered were very good. The manager did remove the cost of the pasta for one of our diners, but seemed to ignore the fact that a second guest also did not eat his pasta meal. The pulled pork flat bread was fantastic as was the salmon. Great server and nice atmosphere. Will give it another try.
Excellent breakfast, excellent service
This was the first time that I went to Millioke for breakfast, which was a part of a business meeting. Everyone had a great breakfast, and there were no issues that arose while there. I think because it is part of a Marriott hotel, we were able to complete our entire meeting there with no issues as well. I think the staff did an excellent job of service and providing very little interruptions while we were there. I think my party agreed that we would return again if we have a breakfast, business meeting.

I dined at Millioke for lunch a client and found it a good place for a business lunch. The atmosphere was casual without being too rustic; seating/table arrangements were comfortable (as opposed to be a "tight squeeze" to move around the restaurant). The staff was very friendly and attentive. When our food was brought out, I thought the presentation on the plates was VERY nice. I had the BBQ pork flatbread - just the right amount of food for me, but I would have enjoyed it better with a lttle less cheese. I would definitely go there again - whether for business or pleasure.
Great food, small portions
Food was very good but slow in coming out. Also, portions were small. We had 2 orders of roasted chicken and it didn't fill up out men.
