Michael's On East Ratings and Reviews
This was the fourth visit to Michaels and they always have great service. The drinks and wine list never fail to offer interesting and great tasting choices. You can buy wine on a wide cost spectrum and find great wines even at the lower end.
As for food, with one key exception, it was super as usual. The beet salad and lobster bisque were awesome starters. Sides of creamed spinach and mac & cheese were really tasty and superior to most. The only flaw was with the main item I was looking forward to most, the ribeye.
After a detailed discussion with the server about how the steak should be prepared it came out more well done than expected. While that wasn't too bad it had been charred on the outside to the point where burnt flakes came off (ordered medium). They had no issues with correcting the problem but I would prefer not to send something back when they could have seen how burnt it was before bringing it out.
If you want a spectacular dessert try the Brownie. It's like a double decker brownie ice cream cake. Definitely enough for two.
I chose michaels on east based on a recommendation from a coworker. The hostess was kind and humorous very welcoming. The atmosphere was just right. The food was incredible but the real treat was our server Raechelle. Her descriptions were not only spot on but creative and tantalizing. Thank you! Will return asap!
Michaels always provides a first class dining experience. From wonderful cocktails and extensive wine choices to decadent desserts and everything in between, a dinner at Michaels always impresses. Once again, you have provided us with a memorable night and meal.
Excellent food. Service was very good. Table was right by the bar which is only seperated from our dining room by a sheer curtain so music and noise from bar was all over us which made it hard to converse. Other than that it was a lovely birthday celebration!
It was our first time @ Michael's though we were treated to his food @ the Van Wezel Gala 1/17.
Food was spectacular as was Chrissie's thoughtful service. We are Pescatariarns and our tummies and tastebuds danced with joy!
Joined the club, intend to be regulars having just acquired our 2nd home in Osprey in 1/17.
Seafood was so fresh and beautifully presented. The Friday night lobster pot is a great value.
We have lived in Hawaii for 34 years and have one of the few Ahi auctions in the world.
Roy Yamaguchi's seared Ahi is a standard @ home and a go to meal for us. Michael's executive Chef nailed it perfectly!
Michaels on East is consistently excellent. The fish preparations are creative and satisfying, and the salads are wonderful. The Thai Salmon and sole with almonds were outstanding, and the lobster rolls tasted close to our New England home. Server Kathy made our birthday celebration special. Always worth the drive.
While the food and service both were excellent, I would have enjoyed my experience so much more with less ambient noise and without a fussy toddler at the next table. We were the first patrons seated for dinner that evening and we asked for a quiet table away from the bar noise, but were told "we're fully booked this evening." Then came the big family. I don't understand why restaurants place tables for two right next to tables for eight. When I want a Saturday evening dinner out with my husband I don't want to listen to whining toddlers and their hovering parents all evening. I would go to an amusement park if I wanted that.
Michael's is a beautiful venue. We enjoyed the atmosphere. The service was excellent - attentive but not overbearing. The wine list has a good range of wines and prices. We liked the ability to choose either a glass, quartino, or bottle. For a first course, we had the Tuna Carpaccio and the Beef Carpaccio, both were very tasty and beautifully presented. The star of the meal was the Pampano, prepared perfectly with a lovely sauce. The finishing touch was a wonderful Creme Brulee with fresh fruit, which was perfect for sharing. We'll be back next year when we return to Sarasota!
Our first visit to Michael's on East exceeded our expectations. The snapper presentation and absolutely delicious sauce was mouth-watering - and we cannot wait to return just for that dish! Our waiter, David, was Terrific. I loved the atmosphere - everything about it - the decor, the furnishings - it was beautiful! We cannot wait for our next dining experience at Michael's.
Michaels is an experience not be missed. It is beautifully decorated and makes you feel very relaxed. Without a doubt it is the very best tasting food I have we have ever had. The wine list is fantastic for big spenders and the average. Person. Since we found Michaels we do not let a week go by without a meal there.
Another wonderful dinner - tried the Lobster Bisque, Chicken w/ Red Cabbage and Spaetzle and the phenomenal Goat Cheese Cake with Cassis Coulis - could not have been more perfect. Just great food and service. Can't wait until you open a place in Lakewood Ranch.
Went with hubby and another couple. Three of us had very good to outstanding meals (crab cakes, red snapper, scallops and salads). One had to send back a shrimp appetizer and then received the calamari appetizer that was just so-so. Desserts were great. Drinks were fun. Wine overpriced.
The food was absolutely delicious as always, even dishes you don't think you would like are delicious. The quality of the ingredients is excellent. The service was very good. They make you feel welcome. The manager came by and then the owner came by to chat. The decor is beautiful, like an art deco cruise liner.
