Restaurant was very accommodating to a vegetarian. Had a number of options and the ones we selected was delicious.
Overall it was OK. We had to wait 15 to 20 minutes even though we had a reservation. The brunch was limited and more sea food (fish) than anything, not good when we are not a big sea food family. Almost $300 for my wife, my self , and 3 young daughters that barely had anything they liked was way too much. We do brunch on Sundays as a family frequently and by far this was not good. The waitress was the best part.
Overall our experience at Metropolitan KC was very good. Service and personnel at all levels couldn’t be nicer or more helpful and accommodating...5 stars for them!!! We are a volleyball team in town for a convention so there were a dozen teenage girls so kudos to Metropolitan KC!! Only minor issues we had were that the food orders took extraordinarily long to receive one day and there were a few orders that were incorrect. Otherwise, a great option for a pleasant experience!
We went for the Easter buffet. The staff was friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere pleasant. There was enough variety of food to satisfy everyone in our group. It would have been good had there been even a slight discount for seniors (there is for children). We would recommend metropolitanKC to friends.
Great waitress, delicious wine & food, reasonable prices.
Was good for dinner before concert. Walking distance to sprint center
Had dinner here for restaurant week before a show at Kaufman. Table was so small it barely held our plates but the food and service were great. If they put even a small effort into remodeling it would be much better experience.
Service was not very great. We got appetizers before our drinks (we had several rounds of drinks which all took over 10 minutes to get to the table minimum) and some of the pairings for the three course menu came out after the course was completed. The food was fine, nothing exceptional. On the whole I wouldn't recommend this restaurant due to the difficulty of parking, slow service and mediocre food.
We went here for restaurant week and had a great meal.
New Year’s Eve dinner, had a reservation for 2, restaurant was nearly empty, 4 or 5 tables. Ordered drinks, was 25 minutes before getting our drinks correct and 3 requests for a glass for a bottled beer. (Our server didn’t know Moscato was a wine). After 45 minutes, still did not have our meal, where as a group of 4 seated 15-20 minutes after us had theirs. I asked our waiter if he could see how much longer it would be- instead, he went and cleaned another table off & did something else at the server station, then went back to the kitchen. Upon returning from the kitchen, he returned to the server station doing something so I got up and walked over and asked him if he found out how much longer it would be for our meal and he replied they were working on it. I asked again, so how long will that be and he responded, I told you they were working on it. I asked to speak to a manager because I wanted to pay for our drinks and leave. A manager came out, apologized, and told us it would be another 10-15 minutes, we’ll over an hour. They allowed me to pay for my drinks and we left.
I am a raving fan of Marriott, this restaurant left a ton to be desired. I invited a group of co-workers to this restaurant based on another peers recommendation and it was beyond disappointing. Too much to write in a review, the service did not have any positive interaction throughout, every item ordered was brought to us incorrectly, from charred meat for medium rare steak, to lobster that was rubbery and couldn’t be chewed. This was after waiting almost an hour for food, on a weekday, when they were clearly not busy. Out of embarrassment I stepped to the lobby to speak to the manager privately and when she came to the table she proceeded to negotiate meal discounts, pointing to people stating “I can do 50% off your meal, comp yours and well you didn’t mention anything and your plate looks so...” Not $30 per plate service or quality and definitely not Marriott.
This was our second year in a row to come here for Thanksgiving and we'll be back next year. They have a fantastic buffet with a varied selection of food items without overdoing it. Everything was fantastic. I'd also like to note that I increased the number of people for my reservation twice and the restaurant worked hard to accommodate me and they did. I understand how difficult that was for them considering the Thanksgiving Day crowd.
Went to the Thanksgiving buffet this afternoon. Excellent, friendly staff who genuinely cared about their work and customer experience. I don’t eat meat or poultry, but had plenty of other options including salmon, veggie and grain dishes. Wonderfully prepared and as flavorful as home cooked!
The Thanksgiving buffet was simply incredible. The food items were well prepared and at the appropriate temperature. The ambiance was not raucous and noisy, but more stately. Service was superb. We will return.
We love coming here on Thanksgiving! Food is terrific, wait staff is outstanding, comfortable seating, not crowded
Great restaurant in the middle of things in DT Kansas City.
Our waiter was excellent! We had tickets to the Music Hall & he made sure food items were not delayed. Salmon and cauliflower mash with green beans and great wine. Too bad we didn’t have dessert too...maybe next time.😊
Great restaurant with good service and excellent food. When ordering wine, you have the option of 3, 6, or 9 ounces. Perfect place to eat before the show at the Music Hall across the street.
A little pricey but enjoyed the meal and ore theater made it a lovely evening
Service was good
This hotel restaurant stands above most as a location for a quiet breakfast meeting. The service was exceptional. The breakfast buffet offers many choices. Everything was fresh and served at the right temperature. The cost was moderate and a great value.
Our service was fantastic. Food was good and reasonably priced.
Last year's Easter Brunch was much better! What happened to the omelette station? The crab claws were tasteless and seemed kind of old. Shrimp and desserts were great.
My friends and I ate here before attending a play at the Music Hall across the street. We were seated right away, and the server brought us our menus immediately. We were pleased with all the food. The mushroom gratin appetizer was excellent. The Caesar salads were large and delicious, and the wine was excellent and reasonably priced. The Chicken Marsala, stuffed pork chop and steak dinners were all fabulous. We shared the chocolate cake for dessert, and it was perfect for 3 people. I highly recommend this restaurant.
We had an early dinner prior to the Music Halls performance. The the service and food was great.......we really appreciated the fact that we could chat without competition from other diners. We will be return customers. Thank you.
This restaurant has really upped their food quality--and it was good before. We are now considering this as a destination go-to, rather than just before the theatre. Kudos to the chef!
Great meal! Enjoyed the steak soup, chop salad and pork tenderloin.
For a nice dinner before the theatre, it was perfect. Food was good, convenience was great, and very nice service!
Great staff and always do a wonderful job with the menu/value.
Although we came for restaurant week, we all ordered off the menu. All choices came well prepared and attractively served. Our server was diligent and pleasant.
A perfect dining experience. Great service, food was amazing and I'll return in the near future.
Our work team went there for a going away luncheon. The staff was great - as always !
The BBQ Quesadillas were excellent ! I would also recommend the lunch buffet.
Dinner before Theater. Convenient to Folly or Music Hall. Generous servings of all meals. Well prepared, fresh ingredients. Clearly improved experience from couple years ago. Very pleasant surprise, and will be revisited.
Very under staffed. Took way too long to get the food out. Waiter was nice but you could tell he was frantic. Would not go there again ever....
If you are going to take reservations for a holiday meal, make sure to either have food available or let customers know prior to seating. Won't go there again nor would I recommend.
The Thanksgiving buffet was nice. Server was amazing. Food was pretty good. However, they ran out of prime rib before many of my guests even had a chance to even get one slice. Very disappointing. A buffet should plan on enough food for guests. Just because of this reason, we won't be back. No one likes to be told a buffet ran out of food before you even get some. Very poor planning.
We love eating Thanksgiving dinner here! Room to move, easy access for Mom, very friendly staff, great food!
The Thanksgiving buffet was wonderful. Our server, Michelle, made us feel very welcome and took care of all nine of us as individuals and as a group.
Had the ribs. They were good. Service was fairly good. Restaurant was clean
