Disappointed, Took business clients hoping to impress. Salads were served incorrectly and removed when none had been ordered. Entrees also served incorrectly. Refills on beverages had to be requested. Ambience was loud, crowded and grungy. Pricing would suggest that the customer is a priority to the wait staff and would receive highest quality service and attention. Missed it!

We found the restaurant on TripAdvisor as we were driving into town. It's a good thing that we made a reservation because it was full when we arrived except for our table.
Food was fresh. Flavors were excellent. Dishes were innovative and portions were a perfect size. Highly recommend and would definitely go back next time we are in town.

Drive over 120 miles and always eat here. The food was tasty and a Malbec at $5.50 a glass (big pour) was a bargain. We got reseated quickly because we initially sat near a rowdy and rude table of patrons. Oh well. I would have given the 5-stars but the scallops were gritty and tough. Speaking of grits -- McEwen's has wonderful grits and small biscuits! Definitely will return and I recommend visitors to Memphis give this small and friendly place a try!

Really enjoyed mcewens. We have eaten there before, about 10 years ago. Food quality is exceptional! My wife loved her grouper, and I had aosso bucolic of pork with outstanding southern sides, like greens, potatoes, and it was delicious!

The food and service were sensational. I couldn't stop raving about the food when I went to work the next day. Our service were so professional and friendly. Great to finally find a quality restaurant in Memphis!!!

This is just a great place, have been going here for years and still excellent. Best items for me on current menu are lamb steak and osso bucco. But I've had many types of fish here as well, never disappointed. Its a nice older building, service typically prompt and excellent as well.

We went there with a group of 9 during a vacation stay. We had made reservations under two names but when we got to the restaurant they placed us at a large table in the bar area so we could all sit together. The server was friendly, knowledgeable and patient. The food was excellent. I had the SeaBass for the main course which was cooked to perfection with a delicious sear. It was served with a Risotto and spinach that individually were plain and maybe even under seasoned, but when mixed was wonderful. Everyone in our group loved there meals, I don't think there was a complaint from anyone. Even the 11 year old picky eater liked her meal and the home made biscuits.

Delicious food and great service. Ambience was relaxing. Nice wine list and an easy walk from the trolleystop . only criticism was the table was so tiny,it was a challenge to handle your place settings. Overall, though, a great dining experience!

I forgot take a picture of my meal. I had the Braised Pork Buco & it was delicious. It was a large piece of meat& the spicey greens were very very tasty. I will definitely be going back. All of my friends loved their meal. Service was great & server very attentive

The food was good, there were 3 of us and we shared the cheese plate and had three entrees for $97. It was a business dinner. I will return. I ordered the sweet potato crusted catfish that was okay. It was not cooked done enough for me, but I like my fish well done. The overall rating was very good. Service was great!

Food was excellent. I was taking some out of town guests out for a business dinner. The guests were into wine and they enjoyed the bottle of Itallian wine that we got.

I've been to McEwens several times, and unfortunately I was disappointed a little this trip. The food was excellent, but I was not impressed with the service. We were seated quickly but then had to wait at least 5 minutes for a server to bring us water and another 10 minutes for him to come back and ask us if we wanted anything else to drink. We were also not given any small plates for the biscuits they brought out for the table. Overall, the food was still excellent, but the service made me wish we had chosen some other restaurant for our special occasion.

We selected McEwen's based on the Yelp reviews and that it listed McEwen's as one of the top 10 most romantic restaurants in Memphis. I will tell you that the romance part was mistaken. It was our 24th wedding anniversary and i made reservations and asked to be sat somewhere kind of private as i had also never been there before, but since it was rated so highly on romance I thought this was a normal request. Unfortunately, due to the small cramped seating area, we were stuck in a corner surround by large parties that were loud enough we couldn't hear the nice music playing. We did have a candle but it wasnt dim enough in restaurant to really notice. I will say the reason i still gave it a very good overall review is that my tenderloin was cooked perfectly and tasted great as did the banana creme pie. I was surprised there was no dinner salad and we received 2 small plain biscuits with no butter, maybe that is a trend I am not aware of. Our service was good as well, so that helped and we took advantage of the valet parking which was handy. Overall - the experience was good due to our entree and dessert, but as for a romantic evening out, I would suggest another place, or they need to reinvent the dining experience and sitting room here. Thanks!

They are trying hard to have a creative menu but dishes we had both fell short.
Food average. Putting sweet mango sauce on steak didn't work well and was overpowering. Fish special was average.
Waitress not knowledgeable and service average.
For the money go somewhere else.

I ordered the lamb. My meat was luke warm at best when it reached the table. On top of that, it was a sinewy piece of meat. The mashed potatoes were coyingly sweet with way too much vanilla that was over-powering. The only good thing on the plate were the asparagus. Our waitress was rude and acted irritated To be there. Dessert wasn't any better. There are so many other restaurants in the city. This place desperately needs to be renovated.
Do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else

Food was amazing! With the exception of the biscuits. They tasted store bought. I had the Osso Bucco and was on heaven. Best in Memphis hands down. My Mom's catfish came out cold which was disappointing. Service was splotchy as well. We watched guests get there food and leave before we got ours (we were only a party of four) and we had placed our orders before they were there.
