We went there because the parking lot was full when we passed by the previous evening. My wife had the grouper and I had the duck. Both were excellent although the duck is a full half bird and I had to get a takeaway box. The waiter was very friendly and attentive.

We make reservations at Marina Café each time we come to Destin from the Atlanta area. From 5-6:00 in the afternoon they offer buy one get one free entrées and most of the wine is half price . The grouper and redfish entrées are fantastic, the service is great, and the harbor view and sunset is hard to beat. Make it a point to sit outside for a quiet dinner and you won't be disappointed. We have dined at many Destin restaurants and this one provides the best all around experience (great food, service, value, and view)!

I booked here for my son and his girlfriend for homecoming. It is their senior year and I wanted to make sure it was special. My husband and I had been for our anniversary so I knew it was amazing. They had a great time and enjoyed the food. He said the waitress was wonderful and very helpful to them. It would have been easy for some to just look at them as "a couple of kids out of their league" but the staff didn't do that at all...made them feel perfectly welcome. I will keep this wonderful place at the top of my list for special occasions!

The food was good but even with a reservation we had to wait. The hostess (who instructed us to go to the bar while we waited) seemed to lose track of us and we were not seated until 30 minutes after our reservation time. Food was good, sushi was just ok but our waiter was wonderful and took great care of us.

Maybe they were just having an off night? They couldn't find our waiter. They eventually did but he was definitely scarce thruout our meal. My food was not hot when it was brought to my table. Thankfully my husband ordered a drink with dinner so I could have his water as our waiter left mine empty. Restrooms were filthy. We opted not to stay for dessert and went to another restaurant!
View is beautiful, but we would not go back .

I normally do not write reviews but wanted to include something about this visit. I've been here many times before and it had always been great but I'm afraid this last trip was very lackluster. The service was very slow (though friendly) and the food was both under seasoned and over seasoned at the same time (Ribye steak and shrimp & grits). The atmosphere was great as always however we were sat at a 2-top on the deck which was unbalanced and wobbled horribly. Our salad and appetizer course came out together which I wouldn't normally mind but it took about 45-60 minutes before this happened. the only other issue was I had to walk to the service station and fill up my own water twice. It appeared that our server had a very large section. Maybe someone called out? I can't imagine that how large the sections are normally. Despite all of the above I still recommend it here. All other visits have been wonderful and the view and friendly attitudes win me over.

I come here for a month every year in October . This restaurant has been a favorite for years. Last year I got a time piece of redfish and no vegetables. This year I got a few slices of carrots, thin and a few slices of cucumber. Really? The redfish was not tasty as usual and the coconut pie was not the kind I remember. It was so delicious before and this year it was not. Was it frozen? It was not the same. I usually go every week. I won't go back

Marina Cafe has excellent service and wonderful food! Our group had the calamari (some of the best I've had), ceasar salads, filet and duck. The duck was amazing! The portions were so large that we did not have room for dessert but the options looked good.

The service really let Marina down. We had a reservation and arrived 30 minutes early to get a drink at the bar. Unfortunately no one greeted us, and despite sitting at the bar for some time we did not manage to get a drink. In fact it was another 30 minutes after we sat down that we received our drinks.
The starters were disappointing, but on a plus our mains of house special fish & duck were lovely, as was the coconut dessert.
All in all, I wouldn't recommend the restaurant as the service was so poor for a meal that came to over $140, and the food was not good enough to compensate.

The food was very good as was the service. The kitchen however, was very slow and clearly not equipped to handle a full house. The restaurant was crowded and there was a party in the private room. We waited for over an hour for our main course. Our server was very apologetic and brought us a special "intermezzo" dish as an apology for the slow kitchen. I'm not sure I could recommend this restaurant without a "heads up" for the slow kitchen.

This is a great spot on Destin Harbor. Very nice bar and dining decor. The menu is excellent with local seafood, steaks, and dishes. If you get there for happy hour in the bar and the 2 for 1 in the dining room, the prices are very reasonable. One of our favorite spots.

We selected this restaurant expressly for the marina and waterfront view. We were extremely pleased that we did. The food was very well prepared and plated; Seafood was exceptionally fresh; The wine list was full of our favorites and there were no crazy plate charges if you wanted to share. We enjoyed our server, Richard, who has no doubt served professionally at this restaurant for an extended period.

Food was ok, not not for the price. Waiter was pathetic, even argued with my wife about the length of time we sat down. No one ever brought refills on water, and we had to ask for more bread. I expect more for a high end restaurant.

My wife had the grouper and I had the Red Fish. My wife did not particularly like the topping in her Grouper because it had peppers in it, she is not a pepper fan, she should have read the menu better. My Red Fish was outstanding, cannot give enough adjectives to explain how good this was. A very good experience and will be back.

I have been coming to the destin area for over 30 years and have eaten at many restaurants. Finally made it here and was so disappointed. After being seated we were never approached by anyone with menus or offered water. After 20 minutes I asked for a waiter. Took 45 from being seating to get drinks. I'm never in a hurry to eat but after two hours of waiting on drinks and food was little much !

We were visiting the Destin area and Marina cafe was recommended by a local. It was a busy evening and our service was particularly slow but we weren't in a rush so didn't complain. My husband loved the swordfish but I wouldn't get the seafood pasta again. It was oilily and not a very much sea food in it. The appetizers of fried green tomatoes with shrimp was very tasty and the wedge salad and the homemade mozzarella was yummy. We didn't have room for dessert but finished our wine on the beautiful terrace overlooking the harbor. The pricing was resonable for this upscale restaurant.

Food was good, not great. Walking right into the base, the ambiance was lacking. Surprised there wasn't even one vegetarian selection on the menu (other than a pasta dish). My husband loves seafood and thought it was good at best. Ok, but wouldn't return.

No one greeted us upon entering the restaurant. The maitre d', when he did appear, seemed confused about his job of confirming our reservation and directing us to a table. His attire was inappropriately casual for the supposed caliber of this restaurant. The patter of his conversation was artificial. The music blaring loudly was rock 'n roll and out of place in this type of restaurant. The waiter arrived at the table late and was cursory in his description of the wine list. The maitre d' and other waiters argued in the background. We've dined here before, and the fiasco of this last visit was indeed our last visit to this formerly excellent restaurant.

I visited this restaurant several years ago and read the reviews before I dined. As always, the food was fantastic. The service, however, was well below standard. In fact, I would suggest you bring a tent and sleeping bags in case it lasts all night. Waiter had no "sense of urgency" and M'd said it was casual dining. After an hour and 10 minutes, we had had our salad.
