Maggiano's - Austin Ratings and Reviews
This place does not immediately comply with FDA laws regarding the content of its food. Eventually the hostess provided related information, but our waitress was definitely condescending, unhelpful, and dismissive. She made me uncomfortable. Additionally, this restaurant canceled our reservations about 7 hours after we left. The food was better this time (we’ve been here twice). However, the fact that we spent over $60 on lunch for only two people from a shady restaurant that can’t even operate Open Table means we won’t be going again.
Excellent experience! Started with too notch reservation service through open table. Walked right in, greeted by manager who sat us. Party of 3 for special birthday. Waitress was Jasmine. She was awesome explaining the specials! Very knowledgeable! Drinks & appetizers were great! Dinner was awesome. Wonderful flavor. We did a traditional pasta & received the chefs free take home of lasagna. It was huge & amazing! Had lemon cookies free of charge for a birthday dessert! Excellent experience. We will be back! Thanks open table & Maggianos!!
I hate to rate a restaurant based on out individual server, but...She doesn't like her job and it shows. She tried to get us to get out after dinner coffee to go... Who does that on a party of 6 who ate family style? My youngest daughter who's BD we were celebrating and I both found hair on our plates. Then when we did finally get our coffee, my oldest daughters cup had lipstick on it...
We forgot how awesome Magianos was, we used to go a lot, but have been trying different Italian restaurants. The place was absolutely packed, but thanks to open table we got in quickly. Our food was really excellent, our server was sweet, though very busy, and I had forgotten about the take home pasta. It was like finding an old friend.
Overall it was a nice place to have a New Years gathering. Our service was not great, lack of training perhaps or maybe experience, our bill was incorrect twice, it took an extra half an hour to get the bill corrected, our table wasn’t cleared, our server was inattentive.
We found the usual great "special occasion" dining experience at Maggiano's on Christmas Eve. Cordial waitstaff and delicious food. The room was nearly full but the noise level was very acceptable. We have enjoyed every dining experience we have had here. Ladies' restroom immaculate.
Early Christmas celebration with family. We were accommodated right away and although at the back end by the walkway (I would have hoped we could have had interior seating since I had made reservations ) it was satisfactory. Food has become a bit "chainy" but still good.
We had an excellent time at the luncheon. I would have preferred they sat us a little bit more away from the other patrons since we were a big group, it would have made it easier to maneuver, but it was okay. The food was delicious and having the menu pre-selected makes it really convenient for everyone. We loved it!
We love Maggiano's but the service on this particular night was painfully slow. The manager came to our table to apologize and graciously offered to comp our entire meal, including a desert. Even when ordering the desert, we waited FOREVER for it to come. In the end, the desert was not free as promised, but we still paid the waiter a tip. Hopefully, this experience was an exception. We plan to return again in the future and hope for better, faster service next time.
We had a lovely family meal for a birthday get together. We didn't tell anyone that it was a special occasion because we just wanted to enjoy the wonderful food and setting and each other. The food was wonderful (and plentiful!), the Oregon Pinot Noir was delightful, and the chocolate desert was crazy good. Thanks for another fantastic meal.
Took a friend for his birthday. The reservation was ready when the first party arrived and although they were not busy nor full they refused initially to seat us until the person parking the car arrived. I understand on busy nights with a wait not wanting to surrender a table to a single patron to hold for stragglers but on a quiet night that is completely unnecessary. Our driver arrived after a couple of minutes and we were seated but then waited several minutes before a server appeared to take drink and appetizer orders. From here on out though the evening definitely improved after its not too promising beginning. Service was then quick and attentive but not interfering. The food is quite good although some dishes seem a bit pricey but the pasta dishes are a great value, and very well prepared. We had chicken Francese, Milanese, Fettuccine Alfredo, and Rigatoni. All were well made and the pasta perfectly al dente.
The Bellinis are well mixed and our appetizer (bruschetta, which the waiter even pronounced correctly!) was *delicious.*
The lemon cookies, complementary for a birthday celebration, were quite tasty- light and almost cake like with a distinct lemony tartness that was a perfect end to the meal.
