About L'incontro Italian Restaurant
L’incontro is an Italian word that means, “The Meeting Place.”
Located in Lake Wales, the heart of central Florida, is L’incontro Restaurant, “A Place Where People Gather to Enjoy Classic Italian Food.”
Our family’s interest in Italian cuisine began in the 1960s when my uncle immigrated to the United States. He worked hard to bring other family members to the States to live the American dream. Now, our family includes about 160 people, mostly living in New York and Florida. Four of my uncles are now Italian cuisine chefs or own their own restaurants. Through the years they have cooked for many famous people. Oprah Winfrey, the President of France, and other well-known celebrities have enjoyed their old world-style dishes that showcase the variety and distinct characteristics of Italy’s regional cuisines.

L'incontro Italian Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
The three of us had a wonderful meal. Each of us ordered something different and we were all very happy with our meals. If I had to say something negative, it would be that the service was a little slow; but the restaurant was very full. I suspect that the staff did not expect that many people and naturally it took time to prepare everyones food. It was a wonderful experience.
My Aunt was in town and friends of my mother had recommended this restaurant. I thought we'd give it a try. The service was very attentive and the food was excellent. Mom ordered the cheese ravioli and she said the filling was very creamy and well filled. My petite aunt devoured her chicken parmesan. I ordered one of the specials...a seafood risotto and it was amazing. No scrimping on the seafood. I had plenty left over for lunch the next day. Prices were very reasonable. We will definitely be back.
It was our 30th wedding anniversary. We did not want to dine in Sebring with all the chain restaurants for such a milestone anniversary celebration. We were pleased with our choice of a family owned Italian restaurant to say the least. The food was a culinary delight. The service from Will, our server, was outstanding as he was knowledgeable in the numerous selections on their diversified menu and was quite prompt with our order. It was our pleasure for him to serve us our meals as he was extremely polite and quite sociable! We would definitely make the 45 minute drive from Sebring, Florida to dine at L'incontro's Italian Restaurant in the future.
We enjoyed Easter dinner here. We dine frequently at L'Incontro and have never been disappointed in the food or the service. The owner can often be seen visiting with customers to make sure everything is to their satisfaction. I highly recommend eating here if you haven't already!
My husband and I recently visited L'incontro's on April 15 to celebrate my 53rd birthday. The food is always Devine. I had the stuffed porkchop and so did my husband, which happens to be a favorite of ours. The service has always been good and makes for a wonderful dining experience. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys great food, wine and spirits.
This was our second visit: the first time with two other friends and the second time on 'a blind date' with my wife. The ambience, service and the food was excellent and well managed with a good front of house team. We were lucky to arrive on an evening when there was a good evening of Freddie's music which added a fine touch to our night out. I suspect the general ambience was as close to Italian as we are going to see in South Florida - no fast food here. Enjoy!
Service was odd. Our waiter took the order and brought the bill, but otherwise we were served by a variety of other servers. Result was choppy haphazard service. Food was fine, well presented but not particularly outstanding. Would go back, but it is not a five star eatery
We enjoy this restaurant for special occasions if we don't feel like driving to Orlando. It was my husband's birthday and they brought him a mini cannolli as a dessert surprise. Staff is very friendly and food is good. Wine list is so-so. Would not want to sit on back porch due to terrible odor coming from large trash bin not far away in parking lot. Would highly recommend.
Made reservations in advance with a few special requests. They went several steps further than we requested, ensuring a fine experience. The service was excellent, checking on us many times during the meal. The only word for the meal would be EXCELLENT! Highly recommend and we will most certainly will return both for the lunch special and for fine dining in the evening. Only one very minor negative: the on-line wine list was out of date and they were out of Merlo but did have excellent replacement..
To start out, when I made the reservation I asked if you do anything for birthdays. No response through e-mail then I got a phone call, she left a message stating that they did do something with birthdays, and wanted to discuss it with me, a phone number was left, but all I got was a standard recording with no option to contact the person who attempted to call me. I was'nt able to talk to anyone, so I left a message and still no response. It was a birthday celebration for my daughter. My daughter and her husband came from St. Cloud Fl, brother came from Orlando and my husband and myself from Haines City Fl. This was the second time my husband and I ate at your restaurant.
My husband, upon arriving mentioned, in Italian so my daughter wouldn't know what was being said, not knowing that no one spoke Italian, asked about birthday suprises, but no response.
I was kind of hoping that something would happen anyway due to the fact I had left a phone message to that effect.
I can't understand the lack of communication about such a simple request .
We won't be back, but I will recommend you because of your very pleasant staff, good food, and a nice atmosphere.
We had reservations and arrived slightly early, but were seated around our reservation time. Then it took several minutes for an acknowledgement at the table. Granted it was Saturday night and very busy. The restaurant is small and very, very loud. We ordered an appetizer and it was delivered to our table a little slow but within an acceptable time. It then took a while before our server came back for our entree order. We waited near 45 minutes for our dishes to be served. Which in my opinion is too long especially for a grilled chicken and sautéed sea bass dish. The food was not bad but not great. My fish was actually cold in the middle. We probably won't be back.
