About Legal Harborside - Floor 1 Restaurant and Market
Legal Sea Foods was born in 1950 as a fish market in Inman Square, Cambridge that expanded in 1968 into a no-frills restaurant where guests sat on picnic tables. The first floor hull of Legal Harborside celebrates this heritage and features a casual restaurant and market.
Here you'll enjoy an all-day menu of seafood favorites with a twist as well as shareable plates, pastas and pizzas made to order in an open kitchen. Choose to eat at one of the picnic tables for an authentic throwback experience or grab a seat at the oyster bar and watch our shuckers at work (up to 14 varieties of oysters are offered daily). A large elliptical bar offers both wine and local beers on tap. Patio seating, along Boston's HarborWalk, affords a clear view of the Boston Fish Pier, the oldest working fish pier in the country, and the city skyline.

Legal Seafood is the master of fresh sea ...
Legal Seafood is the master of fresh seafood. Situated on the Boston Harbor Seaport, the view is beautiful with the fishing boat and sailboat out on the water. The seafood is made any way you like it and is bar far the best game in town, fresh and reasonably priced...there's a reason they've been around for so long. I return each time I visit Boston and I'm never disappointed. My server was very attentive and friendly, she was outstanding!

We were in town for a football game, and to catch up with old friends. I knew I wanted something special for the occasion. I knew I needed to book early, as Legal Harborside is a hot spot. They lived up to our expectations, and more, from the Check in to the Check, we were well taken care of, oh did I mention the food was GREAT. We will definitely return.

Overall it was a great experience, sat on the outside area, although it was a bit cold, but had a great view of the moon - amazing view to dine outside. The waitress took a bit to come to our table and made a mistake in the order, but she quickly corrected it. The wrong order was left at table, it seems the policy is that once a dish touches the table it can't go back to the kitchen, so we tried it, and had also the correct order. We did not get charge for the dish we didn't order. The waitress was very friendly and checked often to make sure if everything was alright.
The food was great, I had the medium lobster and my partner had pasta with seafood and honestly both of them tasted great.

Highly recommend bacon wrapped scallops for an app. View is equally as nice day or night, right on the waterfront. Our server Pat was certainly the highlight, very entertaining and attentive, but looked a bit ridiculous with the hot dog stand apron as part of the uniform.
10 out of 10, certainly would return.

We had a wonderful time. My only complaint is don't call something Cajun when it is clearly not Cajun. Maybe your Scallops which were delicious could be called Spicy instead of Cajun style. Our Server was outstanding, simply because she had to put up with me, LOL. Good job Missouri. You were friendly and informed on the menu items, and your help with the Lobster for one of our party went above and beyond. Next time in Boston, Legal Harborside will be a go to restaurant.

A great get together with friends and family to celebrate. Outstanding attention by the staff and management. Everyone enjoyed every part of the meal and some excellent wine for the celebration. Legal Harborside is consistently excellent. We'll be back soon. Thank you,

My date and I ordered a few things, the oysters were amazing as expected. For my meal I ordered a salmon burger which was lacking, the yogurt dill sauce was very thin, the burger itself didn't have very much flavor other than the salmon itself, I wish they brought out the flavors of the seafood more. They could have easily improved their sauce and added a couple of pieces of lettuce and onion on top. Their portions are good although they could improve the quality of certain aspects of their dishes. Our service was great, the restaurant is in an amazing location and you can see the water while dining. The price of everything is reasonable, the oysters were the only thing above $30 that we ordered. Overall I'm fairly satisfied although I believe the restaurant could make some slight changes to their dishes to improve them drastically.

The food at Legal Harborside is always excellent - very fresh and perfectly prepared. The restaurant was very full - we had reservations and were seated on time - and once we were seated, our waitress let us take our time. We did not feel rushed at all. And the service was great. This is often our go-to place for special occasions.

Legal Harborside is a great place to take out of town guests. While the food is very good, the pricing continues to be "tourist" pricing across all Legals restaurants. Sandwiches at local shows (e.g. Maine Lobster roll) are significantly more expensive here, for no other reason than the Legal's name.

The restaurant is great and the food is amazing however their valet service needs to be changed. We are almost regulars there but every time after an amazing dinner we have to deal with the rude and extremely slow valet staff.

Of course Legal Seafood's reputation precedes itself. But the new Legal Harborside is truly the gem in their crown. This visit was a business lunch so I didn't get to experience their full dinner menu, but what was there was great. This has only fueled my desire to go back for dinner and the elegant second floor dining room (lunch is on the first floor). And of course, I will have to get to the open-roofed third floor once the warmer season comes around again.

First time at Legal Harborside (on the fist floor). Standard Legal Seafoods fare--but was excellent. Only complaint was the service. It seems that all of the waitstaff was either brand new or did not know what they were doing. Service was slow, appetizer came out with the entrees, another appetizer was forgotten, and we ordered coffee after our meal which also never came out. One of the entrees was rung in incorrectly as well. Food was good, as expected, but I was unimpressed with the service.

Supper with friends was delicious, with an ocean view. Fresh seafood and local ingredients, service was outstanding, interesting and creative ways to prepare seafood, fish, and salads. Even though children were present at tables near us, the noise level (while bustling) still allowed for conversation, though it might not work as well for the hearing impaired. I loved the entire meal.

If you are in the mood for a fun get-together, the first floor is just fine. We had to settle for the first floor, since the second floor was booked that night for a private party. We would have preferred a more upscale, quiet locale for our party, since we wanted to talk without having to yell across the table.
Our waiter was wonderful. Randy was personable, and regaled us with the drink and menu specials with a smile. Quite a nice change from the normal wait staff at other restaurants. He answered all our questions and made certain to check back with us after we got our apps and dinners to make sure all was well.
Food was typical, original Legal fare, for which the first floor menu is known, so nothing exciting, but everything we ordered was what we expected.
Can't wait to go back for the second floor menu!

Frequent diners and this time SO disapointed!! Seemed like they had their B team on for a Saturday night crowd???? Service was lousy. Food was good. Waited forever for our wine and we never got our dozen oysters....watched the Manager remove them from our bill however NEVER approached the table....just not the usual EXCELLLENCE we are used to when dining at any Legal seafood....place was a bit of a disarray...get better help.....love going there.....

I left an epic review on Yelp! Not a lot to say that hasn't been said there. This was the PERFECT place for my birthday. Stunningly delicious food, great view, etc. (Didn't know how many stars to choose for value: it's hella pricey, but worth the splurge! I am not familiar with the usual cost of fancy seafood, so take those three stars with a grain of salt.)

I have eaten here a few times previously but I feel that the clam chowder on this day was dilute and not thick and creamy as it usually is and that it had too many potato's! The warm crab roll hardly had any butter on it. This was the only time that I was disappointed walking out of Legal sea foods!

Two of us were early for our reservation for 5, so we went to the bar. The first floor bar was full, so we went up to the second floor bar. Very negative experience...almost walked out as it took a good 5 minutes to be acknowledged...then a full 10 minutes before our drinks were delivered. The bar was not full, and we were at a high-top so had a server...and it was just a glass of wine and a beer. Fortunately, the rest of our group arrived and we went back downstairs. Our table wasn't ready at reservation time, but that was ok as there was now room at the 1st floor bar and we were served quickly by a very friendly bartender. Our table ended up being a bit small for a group of five, with one chair added at the end not leaving much room between that and the person sitting behind...and servers struggling to get by. However, our server Randy was very personable, turning what may have been a bad experience into a great one. The food was very good too...our out of town guest really enjoying the swordfish special.

I was disappointed with the service - very mechanical.
The noise level made it difficult to have a conversation between the 3 of us.
The atmosphere was between formal and informal- make a decision and go with it.

We stayed over for one night at a hotel across the street. We both had the swordfish with polenta and the dish was outstanding. The swordfish was very fresh and cooked perfectly. The polenta was better then any Italian resturaunt . Excellent value and dining experience.
