A GREAT FIND IN KANSAS CITY. i DID NOT EXPECT VERY GOOD FRENCH IN THE MID WEST.
WE ENJOYED THE MEAL. THE WAITRESS WAS WONDERFUL, EXPLAINED EVERY DISH AND MADE EXCELLENT SUGGESTIONS. i WOULD BE A REGULAR IF I LIVED IN KANSAS CITY.

Coquille St. Jaques was superb, and the portobello mushroom salad with balsamic vinaigrette was also memorable. The service was attentive but not intrusive. For the first hour the noise level was fine but after that a young woman was seated next to a couple with whom she felt the necessity to converse and unfortunately had a loud penetraiting voice. It was difficult to ignore her even though she was two tables away.

Steak was over cooked. Waitress said it wasn't. Sent back but came back raw. My niece ordered med. rare. We gave up. Worst part was waitress disputed the customer' s opinion. Too bad. My niece said she wouldn't come back. Oh well...

Oh my Word! So much fun - Went there for my sister's birthday, trying to see if we can get anything like we had in France. Not exactly, but the portions are huge and easily shared, the food is really good, and the service was wonderful. Our waitress was divine and took care of our 5 children's needs before ours so we could be adults and enjoy our time. She explained the food in delectable, dripping descriptions. My husband said the Corsican soup was the best he's ever had. My brother said the steak was melt in your mouth (I don't know which steak). We stayed there for several hours, and the chef brought the kids chocolate mousse and other deserts to try. We will be back for sure!

What a wonderful gem of a restaurant! Amazing French bistro here in Kansas City, we came down from Columbia mo and wanted to try a new restaurant. Le fou frog did not disappoint. Great selection of wine, wonderful people from the bar to waitresses. Now the food was absolutely amazing, we could have eaten more because we wanted to try so much, but we limited ourselves to Moules Marinières (steamed mussels) wonderful starter. Then we had Coquilles St. Jacques ( bay scallops, white wine, leeks, mushrooms and Gruyere cheese) amazing also, escargot and then onto the sautéed chilean sea bass with a sauce of saffron, beef chorizo and tomato beurre blanc served with creamy risotto. One of the top 5 fish dishes I've ever had!! A great family owned French bistro, great food, great people and we will go back as soon as we are back in Kansas City. Thank you for a wonderful meal!

Our food was really good. Or server was get friendly and knowledgeable, however it looked like there were only 2 servers for the whole restaurant so a couple things took a while to get refills and stuff like that.

I have found the Frog to be a reliable spot for special occasions. Excellent menu (try the lobster) but lots of choices, well prepared. Staff have always been friendly, responsive, and knowledgable. The building looks like it should be torn down, but the interior is very bistro and the experience is great.

Le Fou Frog is one of our favorite restaurants; we have dined there many times. Usually, I give the restaurant all 5s, but this was an exception. While our appetizers were outstanding, my wife and I both had the trout, and it was over-seasoned. My trout in particular was so salty I almost sent it back. Perhaps I should have.

Always outstanding. Short ribs and lamb were excellent. Chef always has numerous offerings on the "chalkboard."
Michelle in the bar/patio area will take great care of you.
Sometimes the best day to go is WED/THURS...food is spot on, service is attentive and personal. Weekends are fun if you want the full French cuisine experience.

Saturday nights are busy with a small kitchen it takes quite a while to get your order. For appetizer, salad, entrée and dessert it took over 3 1/2 hours. Most of it was good, the whole Dover sole was delicious and the crown rack of lamb was hard to carve and just okay. Our server Kathleen was great!

Fight in the Kitchen
This used to be one of my favorite restaurants. On this last visit, where I was holding a celebration dinner for members of my executive team, we were startled to hear a loud fight develop in the kitchen at the restaurant at 6PM.
It started with shouting, and quickly escalated to loud cursing, including the “F” word and then you could hear things being thrown. we were not sure if this was turning into a workplace violence situation and considered running...
Our waiter informed us “this was just the owner” implying this happens regularily and the waiter did not seem surprised in any way.
No apology was ever provided and it was completely unacceptable for a high end French Restaurant. I hate to image what really happens with the food given the unprofessional environment that clearly exists in the kitchen!
Crossing this one off my list forever!!

Making a reservation was super easy. The hostess sat us down right away. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. The lobster tails were fantastic, but my date didn't really care for the scallops. Our waiter also suggested a wine that paired perfectly with our meal. The restaurant was cozy and romantic. Perfect for a date night.

Walking into Le Fou Frog you are immediately transported to your favorite family owned restaurant in France. I felt the love of serving authentic French cuisine flowing from the kitchen. Make no mistake this is not a snooty bistro .. It is a cozy well run bar and eatery with an extensive menu . While I enjoyed every bite. The Appel tartan was the best I have ever had. I will go many times and as soon as possible again.
