L'Auberge de Sedona Ratings and Reviews

We celebrated our 32nd anniversary here and it was a very romantic setting. The food however was mediocre at best. The portions are VERY small for the price. Salad with beets was blah with little dressing. The halibut was so overdone I should have sent it back but doubted they could get it right, so gave it to my husband, who was still hungry after his meal. Skipped dessert (probably a smart move) and stopped at Whole Foods instead on the way back to the hotel. We felt very disappointed in this restaurant and will not return. It's rather a shame because the setting is very pretty.

Had Sunday morning brunch at L'auberge in Sedona. Dining next to Oak Creek was magnificent. Ambiance could not have been better! However, the food left a lot to be desired, from the presentation, to the selection and the inability to keep it replenished and fresh....very disappointing. Cost of the brunch was $69, which included mimosas and bloody mary's . Certainly overpriced considering the poor offering.

Aside from having to wait 25 minutes for an already later night reservation our experience was great. The service was great and all but one of our combined dishes was amazing- the other one was heavy on the sea salt. Would recommend but definitely pricey

The food was terrible: the flavors did not go well togheter, the duck was cooked uncured like porc , what a mistake...the creamy onion soup could have been called "heavy cream with a potato" , it was not a soup at all.. the only dish that my husband liked was the risotto with veal.

The location made the entire experience. It was a pretty pricey dining experience, but that was to be expected based on the cost of a night's accommodation. The service was excellent and the food creative. We were in from the East Coast so it was pretty cool to say we celebrated our anniversary on a creek in the middle of the red rocks!

The setting is the highlight of the evening. Food was good but very small portions and the price is outrageous...fixed price menu of $80.00, for what you get, is unreasonable. The atmosphere and service was wonderful and that's why I'd recommend a special evening there to a friend, as long as they understand the charges are over the top. 3 choices for Chardonnay from $90. to $190. Per bottle --- really? Will return after I win the lottery!

This hotel and restaurant have a beautiful setting in Oak Creek Canyon in Sedona, AZ. The dining is outside right by the creek--so beautiful. Having said that, for the prices they charge, the quality of the food and service are not enough to overcome the expensive food and wine prices. We are one and done on this one!

Beautiful setting beside Oak Creek in Sedona. Thoroughly enjoyed the four-course meal with excellent service. Since the best tables for this restaurant are outside, be aware that the temperature can be a little cool in the spring and fall. My favorite experience was from Michael the bartender who made the best Old Fashioned cocktail I have ever had. He talked to me for quite a while about the use of Rye in Old Fashioneds and gave special attention to the service. I would go back just for the service and location.

If you don't know about this resort and restaurant, you will not stumble upon it, b/c the entrance is a bit hidden. Pretty formal feel to the whole place. Our table was idyllic! We were outside and literally on the banks of a babbling creek. That alone is spectacular. Wine list is extensive, but really over the top with some bottles well over $1000. Menu was price fixe with options from different parts of the menu. Food was excellent and recommendations from the waiter were spot on. Menu changes frequently.
I'd go there once just to experience it.

This was a beautiful setting on a creek with the sounds of running water. The tables are all white table cloths under a shady canopy of trees. Very romantic atmosphere. The service was ok a bit slow between courses. Drinks were very good. The food was ok not up to expectation.

Had a lovely time at our dinner. I and my newly wedded husband selected cress for dinner after our wedding. We would have liked a little more lighting after dark to see the creek but it was still a beautiful scenery and romantic setting. The staff was amazing and made us feel comfortable.

The setting of the restaurant is outstanding. It is nestled among trees with the creek running alongside. The atmosphere is perfect for an anniversary, date, or engagement dinner. The wine list is good, and they know how to make a cocktail. The food was really good but was not worth the price, unfortunately. If you are going to pay $400 for dinner, drinks and dessert for two, the food should be spectacular. But, neither my wife nor I thought it measured up. It wasn't bad, but it just wasn't what one would expect to experience for that price. That said, the service was fantastic, and the ambience along with the magic of Sedona made up for the less-than-magical meal.

Always love to make the trip up when friends or family are in from out of state. It never fails to make them feel really special. Actually it makes us feel special too. My favorite place for lunch
We decided we need to make the drive more often even if it is just us.

Great view. Overpriced have to purchase three courses for dinner, not alot of options, portions small. Ordered steak medium came out rare. Steak came back 7-10 minutes later well done. We have been to the restaurant before and were impressed, not so much this time. Better off to do lunch and enjoy the tranquil setting

They are starting to coast on their past good reputation and location. Food was mediocre, service was very slow. Waiter was nice. A lot of staff running around, but don't seem well organised or efficient. They need to refocus or their reputation will suffer.

I have wanted to visit L'auberge (now Cress) since a previous trip to Sedona. We were able to reserve a spot this recent visit. It's a really magical experience. The service and the wine were also wonderful. It seemed weird that the menu had not changed since I first planned our trip. I would think a restaurant of this reputation (and price) would have a menu reflecting the seasons and local products a bit more. We enjoyed all our dishes although I found the heavily recommended veal cheeks to be too rich and in a need of a lighter accompaniment. I wished I had gotten the salad for that course. The sauce on the halibut was barely enough to season a single bite, although delicious. I hope they will continue to fine tune the kitchen and not rest on their laurels (and location).

This is an amazing outdoor restaurant creek side. The food was amazing. The choices were great too. The waiters did a fantastic job. Very accommodating people. The lighting at night was really great and still maintained a romantic atmosphere. The wine list was fantastic and we were given great advice. We also had the best mojito ever!!!

Setting absolutely beautiful, although it was difficult to carry on a conversation due to the screeching cicadas. When the cicadas finally shut down for the night, the sound of Oak Creek was nice. Food was good, not great. Service was slow, but server very personable. They asked when I made the reservation if it was special occasion, and I said 48th anniversary. Clueless girl asked same question when she seated us, but no one bothered to say happy anniversary. Oh well.

This was our second visit to L'Auberge, this time as the new restaurant Cress. Superb food, very creative and it worked. All tables are creek side, and just lovely. Slight faux pas of serving our first course without our ordered wine, but not a major problem. Loved it!

The experience at L'Auberge was amazing. We sat on the waterfront and listening to the creek was soothing. Everyone enjoyed their food, but the cocktails weren't that great. Our server had to be reminded a couple times about orders.

It started to rain as we arrived so the restaurant was not able to offer outdoor seating. We had reservations and the staff seemed not to know what to do when the rain started. Eventually we were seated and 15 minutes went by with no waiter helping us. I finally asked the person filling water glasses if we had a waiter assigned to us. He went and talked to the higher up powers and we had a waiter. After that everything went smoothly and the food was first rate.
