The excellence continues. Flawless for 60 years! Worth the drive to the far burbs to dine in the relaxed country/auberge setting. 5 course pre fixe with wonderful options in each course plus extras. Souffles are terrific. Plum tart is classic and always good. Service is outstanding. in good weather, dining on the large patio is a special treat.

One of the few places that you can get sweet breads in northern Virginia. They were delicious. The lobster bisque, veal, and trout were very good. Leave yourself plenty of time for dinner and dessert as the pace is relaxed. A wonderful place for conversation.

We use to go here 7 to 8 times a year. That was up until we stopped 15 years ago because the lack of service and the food was no longer the same quality. For our 50th wedding anniversary I decided to go back for old times sake . The food quality was back close to where it was those many years ago but the service wasn't close. There were lot of help that that did not have the experience it takes to put this back to 5 star rating. It still is a nice romantic setting.

Mom and Dad date.
I found this place by chance while riding my motorcycle around Great Falls. I knew my wife would love it, it has the right looks and tastes that any french restaurant should have. The service was friendly and professional, the recommendations hit the spot, and the price was great for the amount of food that we got.
The fixed price lunch menu is the way to go .............enjoy

Absolutely the finest: environment, cuisine and service in the DC Metro area. We used to reserve L'Auberge for special occasions due to it exemplary everything; but now we go for our "date night" as often as possible. My wife and I love L'Auberge. And the love is returned by the staff who has served us over too many years.

We visit this restaurant as often as we can and we are never disappointed. We got married there and had reception , our son got engaged just recently at L'Auberge Chez Francois and everything is always perfect. We love this place for any occasion.

WONDERFUL experience!! Our waiter was like having an old friend. The food was divine and the decor was beautiful. I can't wait to go again! Early afternoon (we booked a 1200 reservation) was perfect to get all the attention from the wait staff, avoid the crowd and noise level and enjoy lower prices with the same quality of food.

Friends from out of town joined us for lunch. Such a lovely setting, the server was amiable, knowledgeable and friendly without any touch of "snootiness". The food was memorable. Not sure how far in advance one would have to make dinner reservations but lunch was about a week before. What a neighborhood gem!!

A spectacular lunch experience as always. The service is impeccable. Not to much, not to little, just right.
The food exquisite. I come here often both to impress my business customers and my personal friends/romantic interest.
The Lunch experience is a huge value and one you ought to partake in if you are new and if the dinner prices look daunting. Regardless, go soon.

There is a word I have for this restaurant - Special. This is the most special restaurant. The service is grand. It's what service used to be and should be everywhere. When you look at the staff, you see a happy staff of people that seem like family. The food is unbelievable. It is course after course of lovely food that you crave later. It is always a special night and I look forward to my next reservation.

This was an incredibly disappointing meal, considering the price and reputation of this restaurant. While the staff is great, very friendly, very considerate and we had a wonderful waiter, I have nothing to say about the boring and sometimes simply awful food. From the microwaved appetizer tart with the chewy pastry shell, to a uninspired salad drowned in Roquefort (which we had to pay more for, because the only a mixed green is an option on the 'six courses' they advertised), to oversalted trio of meats that had pretty much the same sauce splattered all over - it was all edible, but something I'd expect to get at a third tier establishment on the verge of shutting down. The souffles were the biggest disappointment of all, pure mush and blander than cardboard - both. Altogether a very poor experience. I give the place a two because the staff is good.
