The Lake Elmo Inn Sunday brunch was absolutely fantastic!! We picked the Elmo Inn for a friends get-to-gather. We were not disappointed. We had a reservation- highly recommended!- and were seated within 10 minutes of our arrival. We didn't feel rushed and the champagne was indeed never ending. A great place overall.

We come here for special occasions since it is over an hour drive for us. Food and service are fantastic. The staff are very friendly and attentive to their customers' needs. They have always exceeded our expectations.

We have been dining at the Lake Elmo Inn for over 20 years. We love the atmosphere, the seasoned wait staff, and the unique touches like the tiny lemon sorbet cone to cleanse your palate before your meal arrives to the chocolate covered strawberry brought to you at the end of your meal (along with the refreshing hot hand towel). We have celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, holiday get-togethers, the sale of a home and the purchase of another, etc......., we try to find reasons to plan a special evening. Fantastic food at good prices.

It was our 43rd anniversary. We go there every year. Special treat on the house...champagne and choco covered strawberries. Prime rib was fair. Great service as usual. I don't know how they knew, but seated us at favorite table number 31.

My daughter visiting from NY wished to have an especially nice evening together with myself and mutual friends -- I chose The Lake Elmo Inn having high confidence that the event would be without disappointment -- the expectation was fulfilled even beyond such. The service, atmosphere, dishes, and enjoyment were superlative. Each of us commented on how we appreciate this maintaining of old-time elegance without any reluctance to incorporate innovations which do not detract from the level of elegance. OUR HEARTIEST THANKS AND HOPE YOU ONGOING SUCCESS

We definitely felt this was not a great value for the money. Food was poorly laid out with very long lines, little selection, and poorly marked. For instance, Plain Waffles and Banana Nut Waffles were in one big chafing dish. We have folks with but allergies and they couldn't go near them. In this day and age, you expect more care to be give to things like this...

This was our first time going to the Lake Elmo Inn Sunday Brunch. It was amazing! From the ambiance to the champagne, to the fantastic food to the desserts, the experience was wonderful. We commented on how there wasn't a frown on any of the faces of the staff. We will definitely return again one day.

We've been here many times over the years and hired them to cater events. We usually give it a much higher rating, but the last two visits we've noticed a decline in the food. Good potstickers and smoked salmon apps, but the calamari and shrimp cocktail were not even average quality. Both badly prepared and too chewy. Entrees were OK with the beef prepared well but similar to all decent steakhouses, lobster was chewy again and the half duck was good. Desserts were tasty. Competition has caught up to these guys and for the prices, even franchise type places like the Bonefish Grill are far better for any seafood related item. Still a good spot but a little improvement or reinvention might go a long way. Possibly time to address seafood preparation, drop Sunnies from the old school menu and add back the sea bass and a couple more modern options.

Champagne brunch is the best we have found in the Twin Cities. They always have fresh fruits and a variety of salads and shrimp/salmon and omelets to order as well as the main hot entrees and desserts. The ice sculptures are phenomenal , the environment elegant and the service is exceptional.

Perfect as usual. Have known this establishment for many years. Always a treat. Many of the staff have been with the Inn for years-that says a lot about the business. All are professional & personable. The food is always very good. Classic white linen dining!

This one of our go to places for a special occasion. From the duck to risotto and steak the entire table enjoyed the food and cocktails. You can actually carry on a conversation at the table without feeling like you are yelling because of the noise level. You won't be disappointed.

Great food! Great service! Had heard wonderful things about Lake Elmo Inn and it was definitely worth the drive. The steaks were perfect, drink selection was good, and the desserts are out of this world. We tried the pumpkin creme brûlée - yum! And the Sin of the Inn - which lived up to its reputation as deadly and divine! :-)

Our server did a great job. However as the night went on it was quite evident that there should have been another server in the dining room.
The food was excellent as in the past, the manager suggested and made a great wine choice to compliment our dinner.
The detour was unexpected, but we found you. It didn't spoil a very enjoyable dinner experience. Looking forward to our next dinner there.

Excellent service along with a good and varied menu made our visit very special. It was the first time for 2 of the 4 of us and they were impressed. For the 2 experienced visitors, it was another wonderful experience.

My kids sister was here from Seattle...... she has been"gone" from MN, lived her life in Seattle for near 40 years. When she comes "home" she has these cravings........ White Castles, Booya, and this year she was hoping for a meal of sunfish. She absolutely loved it. I thought it was 'Good", but tasted more of the encrusted potato, than it did of Sunfish. I expected this, as I understand that these fish are Farm raised. She was happy and full! I was also! It certainly made her day, and thus mine also.
Hey...... what a great idea? How about a special chefs day for some real Minnesota Booya on the menu?

We have been coming to the LEI for more than 25 years for special occasions or just for a great dinner. When visitors come from out of town one of our evenings is always dinner at the LEI. The food is always great and the waitstaff is attentive and professional.

We celebrated my mother's 92nd birthday at the Inn. It is a very classy and reasonably priced white table cloth restaurant. Chef John and his staff saw to every need and added some special treats to make it a wonderfully tasty and memorable event for us. I don't write reviews ordinarily but the service, the meal, everything was perfect. We will be back!

The Lake Elmo in is the best for a special day out, there Sunday brunch is the best in Minnesota... They don't have tons to choose from but that's what I like, they have just the right things and they do or cook them up right. I did like there old decor alittle better then there new one, it was a little more cozy. But just don't change your cooking or menu and life will be good...

I think Blah is a good descriptive to apply to the host's attitude, the ambiance, the service and the food. What once was a good restaurant is now living off past performance. I felt we were being shuffled off to no man's land; I got to look at two tables covered with discarded bun crumbs and leftovers from the previous occupants. The watermelon bites were tasteless, the heirloom tomato caprese should be only seasonal due to mealy, not ripe tomatoes and the roasted duck was a let down. The best part of the meal was the wine and that was because it came from Willamette Valley, Oregon and not prepared there.
