Great service, variety, and ambiance. Can be a bit pricey if you get the special.
Always great, food was excellent wait staff was outstanding.
Great place to meet for lunch between Saint Paul and Stillwater. Varied menu. Terrific clam chowder on Fridays.
Excellent food in an extremely comfortable atmosphere. The menu is comprehensive and the service is very attentive. Family owned. Great cocktails and a good wine list. We live out of state and make sure we come here every visit.
Excellent cuisine ,always consistently good .Great service and just a fantastic restaurant I have never had a bad meal and eat there off oftenWonderful entrees, seasonal delights-latest halibut from Alaska And desserts are outstanding
Lake Elmo Inn is always a treat for us. This time however, our anniversary lunch was a bit under their standards only due to the perhaps inexperienced wait staff. Nothing really terrible, just not on top of the senior discount on Mondays and in a hurry to clear our table. I took some of my salad home and asked for a roll to go with it. She had already cleared the basket with a roll in it from our table before we were done eating. She came back to apologize that they were out of rolls. Haste makes waste. Again, not a huge complaint but I doubt The owner would have approved.
Great birthday dinner on the veranda patio. Grouper and filet were excellent. Jody was a fantastic server. We will be back for dinner. We had only been to Lake Elmo Inn for Sunday brunch prior to this meal.
Outstanding meals for all of us . Shrimp, duck, walleye were all excellent. Great Proseco and other wines. Old world attentive service from mature, experienced servers.
My husband and I had a fabulous dinner at the Lake Elmo Inn on Saturday evening! We enjoyed the two seafood specials that were offered that evening- the halibut and the grouper. Both were delicious! Our server was delightful! The Lake Elmo Inn is always our favorite restaurant for a special evening-it never disappoints!
Sin of the Inn dessert was very good as was the chocolate dipped strawberry. The shrimp and
barbecued ribs dinners were sub par. Shrimp was rubbery and the ribs were not fall off the bone good. Poor value for the money.
Great food. Great service. Great atmosphere. We had a very nice time and were able to easily carry on a conversation with seven at the table.
Perfect setting for a business conversation. Great service in the bar area and quiet for 11:30am lunch appointment.
We had a wonderful time celebrating our 42nd anniversary. This has become a yearly tradition for us at this restaurant. Everything is so well done and well managed. They make you feel as if you are part of the family.
My mother, brother, sister-in-law and I were at Lake Elmo Inn for my mother’s 92nd birthday and were served complimentary champagne for toasting. We had the Tuesday lunch buffet. I’m usually not a fan of buffets, because many I’ve been to have not been replenished frequently and the food is not fresh. However, the buffet at Lake Elmo Inn was extremely fresh, full and appetizing. The wild rice side was delicious and very Minnesota! The salads were unique and very tasty. I could have made a whole meal out of the salads, fresh fruit and rolls!
This was our third visit to Lake Elmo Inn. Each time we have been treated like royalty. The food is excellent, the service is top notched and the ambiance very special. We felt like family coming home for a special occasion, in our case a birthday event. Come, enjoy, you can't go wrong.
Very good food as usual but our table location wasn't the best for two toddlers and partial bench seating. We were disappointed in that and the service was just okay.
Lake Elmo Inn has been a favorite of mine for years. The food is always is always great and the service is exceptional.
We went for our Anniversary, and had a wonderful meal. Their Calamari starter is excellent. We both enjoyed our meals and were too full for desert but took home The Sin of the Inn and shared it the following day, very good! Our service was also excellent.
Our past experience over several years had been excellent, However this experience was quite different. Of the four entrees ordered only one was served that was acceptable. Two entrees were almost inedible as they were exceedingly dry. The forth order was for rack of lamb ordered medium rare. It was served in four pieces ranging from <1/2 inc to > 1 1/2 inches in width. And ranging from rare to well done. Potatoes were served cold/lukewarm. In general presentation of food was very poor almost like items were just thrown on the plate.
Service was also not up to par with requests for water ignored until additional request were given.
Discussions with the manager about the quality of food resulted in reduction of 10% off of the items in question. Waitress thought that was too little so deducted price of a desert from bill but at same time removed the 10% reduction When we saw the bill we questioned the loss of the 10% discount. Bills were given to the wrong parties. Following a second discussion with management the two worst dinners were taken off the bill. Bills were again rung up on the wrong credit card. We just decided to give up and deal with the reality.
Had this been our first visit to Lake Elmo Inn it would definitely have been our last. However, based on prior experience we hope this was just a super bad day for Inn and we will give it another change in the future,
Great food, great service, love this place!
Excellent service to get to a 7:00pm play in Minneapolis.
Food was fabulous too!!
I used to love the food at Lake Elmo, but somehow I feel they gave themselves over to buffet and left a la cart to ourselves
My twin sister and I were celebrating our birthday, and a friend recommended Lake Elmo Inn. The service was excellent. The staff were friendly, and the food was great!
Wonderful brunch. Always great choices. Service top notch. This day the greek salad and chocolate creme brulee were awesome. Nice job on the barbecued chicken. Best brunch menu in the area
One of my all time favorites for Sunday brunch. Extensive table of fruits, cheeses, shrimp, salmon, salads. Good basic meat, potatoes, veggies, and Eggs Benedict (omelets also available!). Not fancy food but good hometown cooking with fresh ingredients and well prepared. Worth the drive and the (relatively low) cost.
The food was good. The ambience was lovely. The bus boy was attentive. The server was nonexistent. She disappeared for long stretches at a time and we never got a single refill of our “ever-flowing glass of champagne”. We were going to mention something to the manager on our way out, but there weren’t any around.
Absolutely fabulous! I would recommend this place to everyone......and will.
We had a wonderful time, the food was great, the staff were so courteous, and the price of the Sunday brunch was reasonable for what we received. Thanks for the recommendation open table. Eric
My husband and I went out with another couple for a night out without the kids. We had made a 6:30 pm reservation and were seated immediately upon arrival on Saturday evening. We ordered drinks and asked about the specials. Our table ended up ordering two of the specials that evening; the cilantro lime butter Halibut and the house special prime rib. While placing our order another wait staff informed our server that the Halibut was out. So then our table placed an order for three prime rib and one Cajun pork chop meal. Our server returned minutes later to inform us that they were out of the prime rib. So the three of us with prime rib selection made choices off the menu. We were disappointed that they were out of the specials prior to 7:00 PM. But we all made new choices for dinner. I had the sirloin and it was cooked how I liked it and the accompaniments were also good. Our server was good at pacing dinner and allowing us to enjoy our conversation. Overall dinner was good and we had a great time; but if you are interested in the specials you'll need to make reservations prior to 6:30 pm to be able to enjoy one. *wink*
As always our meal and service were impeccable. Our go to place for all the important events in our lives.
My husband and I come here about every other month. We enjoy the ambiance, great service and excellent food. Highly recommend.
Great service and foid
Almost everything was really good. I didn't give the 5 stars on a few things only because some of the meats were cooked perfectly and some were too dry/overcooked.
Celebrated my birthday at Lake Elmo Inn! Awesome experience! Lisa, John, & Curtis are THE BEST!
We decided to try Lake Elmo Inn after seeing reviews. Even with high expectations we were not disappointed. My husband had the chef’s tasting menu which was a smoked caprese salad, then for entree petite filet with asparagus and blue cheese mashed potatoes and for dessert it came with peanut butter pie. I had the lobster ravioli. Everything was delicious and perfectly cooked and flavored. The service was attentive and fast but we never felt rushed. We will definitely be back!
This is my favorite go to place! Glad the road construction is finally done.
Hello and thanks for your inquiry about out satisfaction with the Lake Elmo Inn. We are usually very happy with the service and food quality there but this past Tuesday, May 15, 2018 was totally disappointing.
We were a party of 5 and two of the party, being Vegan ordered off of the regular menu and the other three ordered the buffet.
The buffet food was very disappointing. The meat being pork was totally rare, the salads were not up to standard and we don't eat fish so had to be satisfied with the soup and a bit of salad.
The desserts were very nice as usual.
We are sorry to put forward such a review, but will hope for a better experience next time. Sincerely, Roy and Marjorie Bednarek
Always wonderful. We were unaware that there would be a wheel chair - so staff had to reassign table to accommodate - which they did at the last minute with no fuss. Service was excellent as always.
Very nice! Food and service was excellent!
