Island Creek Oyster Bar Ratings and Reviews

Island Creek Oyster Bar has the best oysters anywhere! On this occasion , I had the Chatham's, the Island Creeks,, and the Moonshoals. . All were amazing! For brunch, I always "order the crabcake Benedict although it is not always on the menu. We also love the fluke crudo , the salmon tartare, and the bluefish pate. Their homemade sweet potato chips are also outstanding. Everything in the restaurant is home made. The service is fantastic! We highly recommend this great restaurant!

Have been here on multiple occasions and it never disappoints
The "shrimp" cocktail is among the best we've ever had and the halibut is always a hit
Service was extraordinary and we even got "comped" a few oysters just because they knew we had an interest
As you can tell by the limited availability of reservations, this is a back bay, no, Boston hot spot. For very good reason

This is our family's favorite Boston restaurant by far. If you like seafood, and you like the current trend in raw seafood - ceviche, crudo, tartar; as well as raw bar - this is a must.
The oyster slider ($4) is about the perfect food IMHO.

Always like going to Island Creek. Consistent high quality oysters (and shucking). Unfortunately this time we had a little trouble with service as it seemed the wait staff changed shifts and our table was left alone for a while.

OVERTHETOP FABULOUS! Saw the great reviews and we were in the market for lobster rolls so it was a must do. Had to add an oyster slider, too - to die for! and a few raw ones just cause...well, we're at an oyster bar! Everything was exceptional - service, beer, surroundings, bread (OMG delicious!) New favorite go-to in Boston.

Simply my favorite restaurant in Boston. Great oyster variety. I have yet have to find something in the menu that I was not completely satisfied with flavor and portion. Service is also very good. Decoration is very original.

There's not enough room to share all of the things about ICOB that I love. We usually make it to ICOB once every 2-3 months, but our November trip is always the most special. My parter and I had our first date at ICOB years ago, so we always come back to celebrate and reminisce. ICOB, with nothing more than a note on OpenTable, went above and beyond to make this night even more memorable.
1 - Our menus were specially printed with "Happy Anniversary!" Such a nice personal touch.
2 - Every single ICOB employee that stopped by our table congratulated us and also told us how awesome it was that our first date was here. Once again, such a little touch that is a reminder as to why ICOB is so great.
3 - Our dessert was comped and brought out with "Happy Anniversary!" written in chocolate on the plate. On top of that, the Banofee Pie was outstanding. I don't even like banana and I couldn't put it down.
4 - The wine recommendation was on point! So much so that we left the specially printed menus in the cab on the way home. We called ICOB the next day and they instantly said no problem and that they would print new menus for us from the night before. We picked them up the next day and were ever so grateful.
Now all of this above is what separates ICOB from the pack, but the food cannot go unmentioned. Their seafood is out of this world fresh and delicious. I got the Lobster Roe noodles (one of the best entrees I've had anywhere) and the fish recommendations we're spectacular. We started with our usual oysters & oyster sliders (SO GOOD!), as well as the salmon tartare.
All in all, there's not a restaurant in Boston that I rank above ICOB. Thank you to the management & staff from the bottom of our heart for making our anniversary so memorable. We appreciate you!

Absolutely wonderful! Took my boyfriend here for his birthday and let them know ahead of time - they printed menus wishing him happy birthday! On top of that the food was amazing and the cocktail were perfectly done. Would highly recommend!

The best fresh seafood in Boston. The oysters are to die for. The server was extremely knowledgeable about the items on the menu. We asked for a selection of oysters - I like briny and my companion likes sweet and our server nailed the selection perfectly. My companion had the monk fish - again at the server's recommendation and it was everything she said it would be, rich and tasty. I had the special swordfish which was excellent. Wonderful meal, great service (I am so grateful that the restaurant has the wait staff taste the food they serve) - a wonderful evening.

Phenomenal place to eat. Oysters were amazing, tuna was absolutely the best I've ever had, swordfish was excellent. I can't say enough about this place. The manager Lindsey was very pleasant to talk to and recommended some places to hit while visiting Boston. Definitely will be coming back.

ICOB never disappoints. From the service to the ambiance to the cocktails and culinary offerings, everything is of exceedingly high quality. Go for the oysters... stay for the biscuit. Seriously - order the biscuit!

My brother and I were in town for the weekend and decided to dine at the Island Creek Oyster Bar one of the nights for dinner. The clam chowder and the grilled maine salmon were amazing. You really do get what you pay for. Meal was well worth the price - and the price was very reasonable. Great wine list along with a number of different unique beers. Would definately recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys seafood.
