Iridescence Ratings and Reviews
My husband and I came for our anniversary. The service and wait staff were so nice and friendly. They gave us samples of diffrent foods to try while we were waiting on our dinners. We had a cheesecake that said happy anniversary with chocolate writing we ate it soo fast it was soo good. Everything we ate was soo yummy, fresh and flavorful. We will deffinately be back!
Iridescence has a lovely view and is trying very hard to be a high-end restaurant. The drinks and food are very good, but somewhat underwhelming based on my expectations. A positive is that the steaks were obviously not put in a sous vide, but actually completely grilled by the chefs. The cocktails are interesting and have a theme, and my Elder-Fashioned was well made. I guess for a steakhouse, I leave Fleming's more impressed than I did Iridescence.
My friends and I simply enjoy Iridescence, my dining experience is always wonderful there. I will definitely be back. Also Jamey, our table host is amazing as well. She's very genuine about catering to her guests. We also absolutely love the four course $55 option. Had an awesome dinner tonight.
Enjoyed this place beyond compare prior to this last visit. It's painfully obvious that there was in fact a chief change!! By far the worst 250 dollar dinner I've ever had. The service was still outstanding but I felt like i was eating a steak dinner from a 12.99 buffet will not return anytime soon.
I've had many wonderful dinners at Iridescence but Friday night was not one of them. It was my son's 21st birthday and I've been telling him about Iridescence for a long time and he's been waiting for the day when he could finally come out and see what I've been talking about. The food, as always, was delicious. Our server was what made the night not so great. Usually the service is beyond what you receive at any normal dining establishment; making every detail so nice. This server (of Indian descent) was just not friendly, didn't smile, didn't make any dining suggestions, just was not good. I had to call the manager over and have a chat just to tell him that we were having an unpleasant dining experience. They comped the dessert which was fine but I just have a bad taste in my mouth from the whole experience.
The restaurant was exceptional. The was delicious. The steaks were prepared to order. Surprised with an offering of a 4 course meal selection-reasonably priced because we were eating at 5:30. We actually received 6 courses pre-appetizer, appetizer from a choice of appetizers, bread-gluten free and gluten, salad/soup, entree, dessert and then macaroon cookies. Also included choice of a white/red wine all for $55.00!!
My husband and I went there for our Anniversary. Seemed to be appropriate and it was. We liked that there is free parking in the Motor City garage. We had great a view and the service was great also. The food was delicious, would highly recommend the bone in ribeye. The wine selection is fine. The whole menu is a bit pricey, that is why three stars on value.
We had no wait to be seated when we arrived at our reservation time. It actually didn't seem very busy for a Saturday night. We were celebrating a milestone anniversary. Everything we ordered was phenomenal. Hubby felt his steak was underseasoned but still tasty. Meal total for us with 1 drink each, appetizer, entrees and desert was around $170. We probably won't be back because it's out of our budget for regular dining but it was worth every penny for celebrating our special day. Definitely recommend it if you can afford it! Only bummer was we went at sunset expecting a great view and were seated at a booth with other diners as our only view. I'm sure if we had asked and been willing to wait we could've gotten a window seat but we didn't.
The food and service was amazing! We ordered a steak that was perfectly prepared and so tender. The ambience and views were beautiful . I had not heard of this restaurant prior to our visit, but I have told several friends of my experience there and will return again very soon.
We have dined at Irredescence several times for different occasions. Anniversary, New Years and birthday. The food and the service have always been top notch. We have done the Early Diners menu several times and find the choices good and a great value. They accept casino comps which make it an ever better value. Will go back again!
It was a great experience. The chicken and salmon were delicious. Free tasty anniversary dessert with the most beautiful writing on the plate. Server Nichole was very attentive. Served pored Figi water from a bottle as the water choice however did not charge extra for it. All of the waterfront views are high top tables. Great ambiance.
The food was excellent but be ready to pay up. The service was on par for a 4 star restaurant. Wine selection was great and not terribly over priced. Great view of downtown Detroit at night as well as the bridge to Canada. Reserve your table days in advance. Do not expect to walk up and be seated.
My husband and I went to the sound board for MMA fights and had a light night dinner here. My husband steak was over cooked from medium rare to medium well... they fixed the steak fast and took it off the bill. Mistakes happen. Was not expecting an 80 dollar steak off the bill. Nice surprise! Great service and I will return! Food was amazing! Also they gave him extra food to snack on while waiting! Service went above and beyond! Can't wait to return!
The restaurant manager is incompetent. I have dined at this restaurant several times and have had issues with him before.it was our 25th wedding anniversary dinner. When we arrived the hostess congratulated us, our server congratulated us. The manager was walking around talking to all the customers but us! Never even Came you our table. I was so mad I will never dine there again (unless he is fired). All the other staff was excellent! What a shame....
It was our first visit to Iridescence to celebrate my wife's birthday. The view and the service were fantastic as was her pre-dinner sangria and the salmon. Unfortunately, my Manhattan was a bit syrupy and the striped bass a tad dry. The wine pairing recommendation was perfect as were the sides, appetizer (scallops), and desert (pineapple upside-down cake). I was surprised by how low the noise level was considering there were at least three celebrations of eight or more people going on throughout our stay.
