I came here for my birthday and I really liked it. My boyfriend & I got the "Wine & Dine" special. It was reasonably priced but our entree wasn't anything special. With the wine & dine, you receive 4 courses. Everything else was spectacular but the chicken we ordered had little to no taste. In the defensive of the restaurant, our server could tell we didn't enjoy it and asked but we lied. They go over the top to make sure you are satisfied. I would still recommend this restaurant.

The service was amazing. The drinks were amazing. The food was amazing. The ambiance was amazing. The view was spectacular. We went for my girlfriend's birthday and the staff was very accommodating. Our lobster tail and ribeye steak were perfect, as well as our scallops, the bread, and our apple ricotta cheesecake. The best restaurant experience I have ever had. You truly helped make her birthday romantic and special. We will be back many times again, that I promise. I can't wait to go back! Thank you so much for everything! Best restaurant in Michigan hands down!

We had a good time. The atmosphere was fantastic. The staff was great. The food was delicious. We had a good view as we overlooked the City of Detroit with all of the lights brightly showing the background of the landscape. The music was appropriate as we were celebrating our 49th Wedding Anniversary.

The hostess greeted us and we, four adults of varying age, were seated promptly. The server greeted us with opened bottles Fiji water. We were offered the menu on tablets, of which one ran out of battery immediately. The waiter took the drink order. Drinks arrived. Food and menu were elaborated. Up to this point a 4/5 experience. Nothing bad, but nothing to write home about.
Appetizers were ordered. Entrees were ordered. Wine was ordered. The crab cake was good, an appropriate combination of flavors, decent value. The beer tartare was quite excellent, even for what you were paying for it. The short rib was overcooked, dry, and sinewy - but the accompaniments were worth eating. Still a 4.
Entrees hit the pass at different times.
Steaks hit the table. Three ordered MR, one Med. The three MR are 2 filet and one NY, arriving at varying temperatures from medium to med well. I've steak gets sent back. The manager/maître d brings it back to the table, still overcooked (which is extremely taboo in the restaurant world).
The second round NY comes out. It's, what I would consider undercooked for MR, but my guest enjoys beef on the rare side. No harm, no foul.
At this point, from the $50 a plate steak served a' la carte, the sides that are decent (the lobster Mac is pretty good, but seems they used frozen lobster claw meat) but not great, and nothing about the service being remarkable other than being put off by the behavior of the staff in the instance of there being a problem, the night has turned sour.
The pineapple upside down cake was fantastic, the creme brulee was quite good, the coffee service was great, and the espresso was really good.
For almost seven hundred dollars for four people, I expected better.

We had not firmed up any dinner plans and had discovered Iridescence at the top of the hotel that we had checked into, Motor City Casino. What a great find!! We immediately made last minute reservations through Open Table and it the entire evening exceeded our expectations. Would highly recommend Iridescence.

The service, the view, the food, and the ambience was spectacular. The staff made my wife and I like I were the only people in the room (even though the place had a nice crowd). All of the food came on time and the taste and decor of the food was simply breathtaking. The chocolate bud that melted into a rose was a very beautiful touch that made our anniversary complete (and it read happy anniversary written in chocolate on the plate). Total worth the visit to Detroit by its self and glad that I picked this place to spend our special day; thank you all for making trip a memorable one. Hope to visit you all again very soon

Was the 1st time eating here, was VERY impressed with the service and the quality of the food. we have stayed at the Motor City hotel a lot and have eaten at all the eating places on the 1st floor and the food at ALL of those places are just ok at best. But here the serving sizes are great and EVERYTHING we ate from the start to the finish was great, and was still great later in the night with what we couldn't eat at the table and took back to the room in carry-out boxes. will DEFINETLY eat here anytime we are back in Detroit.

After much searching for a place to celebrate our anniversary, we settled on Iridescence and we were very satisfied with this decision. We were greeted with smiles and our reservations were ready when we arrived. The wait staff was prompt in greeting us and offering various options. Our server, Oretha, really made our visit and celebration a memorable one. She, along with chef, offered and created dishes that were suitable for my wife to eat (due to various food allergies). They made us feel like very special guests on that night and we are so grateful and will return.

Our server, Helios, was outstanding. Not only did he explain the menu, but after listening to us, he did some recommendations. We followed his suggestions and the meal, service, and ambience was above our expectations.

This was my second visit to the restaurant. I found the service and food to be excellent. It compares favorably to other fine restaurants . I travel a lot. I believe that the food portions and quality was the best. The wait staff was attentive, knowledgeable and accommodating. This is a great gem in Detroit. Of course, the view was impressive and led to a special date night for me and my husband.

I had a Cesar salad and there was to much dressing on it, I liked it before when they fixed it at the table. Also, the lobster I got for the price was a little tough. It was okay dining there but not like the times that I had been there before.

Beautiful visuals from moment you walk thru door and city lights and those of the Ambassador bridge at night make great dining back drop. Food was hit or miss. Scallops were phenomenal and also pineapple upside down cake. But sides were too salty to eat!! Smothering everything in butter and salt does not make it gourmet. Service was high class so overall a nice experience but not Chef's Table caliber cuisine. A more discerning menu and it could be top shelf.

The food was impeccable.! The service was wonderful! They asked if we were going to the concert after dinner , which we were, and made sure we were served in plenty of time to get there. The view was awesome too😊

My friends and I wanted a nice dinner, a really nice dinner, before one member moves out of state. We had requested a window table and watched Detroit come alive at night. Watched ships on the river as they passed. The food was wonderful. Portions are large so three of us were able to split a Caesar's Salad and asparagus while each had their own entrée.
This is what I categorize as a dining experience.

Iridescence once again out did themselves with a last minute special date my girlfriend and I planned for a celebration, the atmosphere is awesome, and the food is fantastic. All the staff are professional, kind, polite, and make sure to have you smiling through out your entire dinner.

I had dinner Sunday nite with my friends and my wife. The food, overall, was good. However, I ordered a$49--10 oz filet mignon med.+(between medium and medium well) and it came out over cooked. That was a big turn off for me!! Due to time constrains, I disn't ask for another filet.

I would recommend that anyone who can appreciate a good view visit this restaurant. If you time it right, you can catch both the late evening and nighttime views in the course of a meal. I found the food to be above average, but my expectations were perhaps too high after all of the 4-Diamond rating references online, in the restaurant, and at the hotel. The server was wonderful, however, the support staff was average to poor (mostly attentive, but loud and sloppy). I also noted that everyone around me was celebrating an anniversary, as was I -- special occasions only, I suppose.

They decorated a large white plate with black chocolate that said Happy Birthday and fancy decorations along with two cookies for us. Nice personal touch that really surprised us. The atmosphere and lighting is amazing.
