When we entered we were a little disappointed, then we said we had reservations and found out the first floor was for walk-ins and the second floor was the normal dinning room. Good food, even if they did bring the wrong dish the first time.

This is a very classy Italian restaurant in the heart of Seattle. The food is amazing and the service is first class. We enjoy participating in the tour of Italy, which restarts every 6 months. It is worth checking out. You will not be disappointed.

The salad and main course were fine. In fact I ordered some wine and that was excellent. The problem was the dessert - which had been highly recommended by the waiter at the beginning of the meal. It was an apple strudel. It arrived over cooked. Let's just say, it was served with a spoon. My husband got me a fork and then he went found a knife for me. I would have needed a steak knife to actually cut through the top.
When the waiter finally reappeared and checked in (with check in hand), I explained the problem. He said he would mention to the cook. And, then we never saw him again.
At the least, an apology was in order and some deduction from the meal would have been nice. Since he showed no real interest in keeping us pleased, his tip was reduced accordingly for the price of the dessert.
We have eaten there many time and will do so again. However, this was a really poor experience.

Our server was very nice ... I felt he was a bit stretched though and therefore our service was kind of slow. I was with my niece and we had to sit at this HUGE table in order to have a booth which was a little awkward but not totally uncomfortable. I chose Il Fornio because Italian sounded really good on a cold rainy day and then we are at this huge booth which was not real "cozy"! The ravioli was amazing though!

We went to Il Fornaio last minute. Made reservations on the drive to Seattle. We had tickets to a show at the Fifth Ave and our wait staff was prompt and courteous, enabling us to have a great meal and make it to the show without rushing. I had the Veal picante, which was wonderful, and my husband had a great Bolognese. The ingredients were all excellent and fresh. The preparation was exceptional. I'm sure we will return many times!

We've been to Il Fornaio several times before and generally enjoyed the experience. We are unlikely to return.
The service was poor, the food wasn't very good, and the bill was very high. Our meal took well over two hours to complete, we received our glasses of wine a full hour after we were seated, and the food was only OK. Under-seasoned and over-cooked.

Lovely dinner. Food was delicious, good bread, good house Pinot Grigio. I was dining alone but did not feel rushed. Waiter and busboy were nice and personable. Have to say I loved the apple strudel! Veal was fork tender. It was all so good, I came back another day on my business trip!

My wife and I had another excellent dinner with wonderful service at Il Fornaio Saturday night. Very good caesar salad, breads, pasta ravioli, goulash and a zabionni desert.
Service was excellent and the classic italian dining room made the evening one to remember.
We'll always be back!

My wife and I were pleased with our dining experience.
The wait staff were very attentive and professional. For instance, a dopey patron and his guest (among other things the male was nervously whistling) were appropriately and with discretion asked to leave the main dining area and head to seating in the bar.
The wine list was varied and appropriately priced.
Italian food was excellent.
We will return when in Seattle.

We love Il Fornaio and have been coming for years, both in Seattle and L.A. The food, wine and service were good as usual. Our table was too small though. We were early evening and had reservations so we didn't know why we were not given a more comfortable table.

Everything was wonderful...the service and our server were great. We were seated at the red table after being asked if we were there for a special occasion. We received a free appetizer and desert!!! Would definitely return.

In Seattle on a tour and had this night free to dine out. Stayed at the Westin so this was right near our hotel. Wandered into the mall, seemed to be one of the few places open Labor Day weekend. Service, ambience and cuisine all very good.

The food was not worth the price. I remember having lunch with my friend about 5 years ago and it was good. Also, i had mentioned on the reservation that it was for my husband's birthday and for a meal that we paid $85 for it is too bad that you could not throw in a little free dessert for my husband.
i love the bread and cafe food but i will not be going to the restaurant anymore.

Expensive for what you get. Food is so-so, nothing special. Risotto was way undercooked, not al dente at all. Should have gone to the downstairs venue where food quality is more dependable and somewhat less expensive.

I am 5'7 and my colleague is 6'5, none could fit comfortably in the booth table because the leg of the table was huge. It was quite uncomfortable during the whole meal.
The lasagna had some regular ham in it, not great for a $93 bill.
The wine was good, so was the creme brulee.

Il Fornaio is a great place to dine for special occasions. It was easy to get a table for two, which came as a bit of a surprise as it was on the same evening as the Seattle Seafair Torchlight Parade. The food was delicious and the server delightful. The "house" salad was outstanding. Parking at Pacific Place while dining at Il Fornaio is reasonable and convenient.

I have been to Il Fornaio many times and I was more than disappointed this time. The service was absolutely horrible-the server was less than friendly and we had to track her down to get the bill. The seafood special was overcooked and my salad (grilled chicken) was dry.

My daughter and I were visiting Seattle for the Adele concert and wanted to have dinner before the concert started at 8pm. We arrived quite early at 6pm and there were only a few tables occupied. We were seated at a window table and a waiter immediately appeared. Both my daughter and I order pasta and salads with a glass on wine and we were not disappointed. Everything was hot and fresh and we were so full that we couldn't eat another bite....let alone one of the delightful looking desserts! Too much fresh focaccia and pasta. Considering the atmosphere and the wonderful food, I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

Food was good. It wasn't anything super special though. The service was outstanding though, which I appreciated. We ordered the bruscetta and it didn't really taste like anything. Just tomatoes and bread. It was very timid. My son ordered the meat sauce and meatballs which he enjoyed but the meatballs were very heavily laden with bread. I had soup which had peas and mint and it was very good. I loved it. The waiter was friendly and accommodating and was very knowledgeable about the wine list. Overall, it would be a place I'd go to for lunch but probably not dinner again.
