Truly outstanding dinner. My friends from Ft Lauderdale had recommended the restaurant - it surpassed our high expectations. Our guests were wowed! The ambiance is very unique and romantic and the menu was great, so many tempting choices. Food was high quality and delicious. Staff was friendly, attentive and unobtrusive.
A five star night all around. Just go and enjoy!

great place. I thought it was pricey for dinner for portion size. However, I will go back. It was worth the drive. The place was amazing and the staff wonderful. We were not rushed and was able to enjoy a quiet dinner. we will try their lunch very soon.

One of my favorite restaurants in LA. Great for a date, friend's get-together, etc. Not for kids, but beautiful setting. Also excellent for a shower. Lovely space and peaceful. Sanctuary in LA. Food was excellent (I had the lobster salad). Massimo, our server, is top notch.

My wife and I went here for the first time for our 15 year anniversary. The owner was very personable and the ambiance is what you go for. As others have mentioned; the food is good but not great. Everything we had was good except for my entree.
It was a special that evening; giant prawns with linguini. If the chef had tasted this dish, he would never have let it get out of the kitchen. It had a gritty, dirt feel to it; like bad scallops. When I mention it to the waiter, he told me that it was the tyme in the dish. It made me feel better enough to finish the dish, but I was not thoroughly enjoying it. When the bill came, I saw that it was a $48 entree! I nearly spit out my wine. DEFINITELY not worth the $48; maybe $28.
Service was good. Wine list was very adequate. Based on the value to food, I would probably not repeat going. It was nice to experience it once, but the bad entree kinda killed it for me. At these prices, they should be more careful with what comes out of the kitchen. It's been around for 30 years and I'm sure it will be around for another 30.

Il Cielo has the best ambiance in Los Angeles: you sit outdoors with lots of trees trimmed in small white lights, and this is so romantic and pretty! The food is outstanding: home made pastas with tasty, imaginative sauces beautifully presented with wonderful accompanients. My guests from Chicago were terribly impressed and want to return on their next visit. My branzino was perfectly cooked and my guests' steaks were also. Desserts were out of this world. Love it here.

Our server would constantly walk away mid sentence and never came back to our table unless I motioned to him several times. Reading the specials and taking our orders took extra long as he was socializing with other servers while serving us.

I took my wife here for her birthday and both of us had salmon. It was so good . The restaurant was very nice and they has great services too. It's good for going on a date or for a great romantic night with your spouse/partner.

A birthday group of 8 women who dine all over the city to celebrate each others' birthday. We meet almost monthly and very much enjoyed Il Cielo, the choice of the birthday celebrant. The food was very good, the patio was relatively quiet as there were not many guests at noon--it got busier towards 1:30--and the service was attentive and excellent.

The setting is gorgeous, a tranquil oasis very close to the mad bustle of Rodeo Drive. Service is exceptional as is the food. Classic Italian cuisine prepared with great care and respect for tradition. Nice wine selection and excellent cocktails. Good valet service and very accessible for someone who uses a walker. Zero steps. We come as often as we can and are never disappointed.

We have been going to Il Cielo for approximately 25 years, when it was a very small restaurant with a concrete patio. It has always been a favourite and we have been delighted to see it grow into a very special ambient place. VERY welcoming, excellent food and service. On this visit we noticed the attractive bar for the first time - and indoor dining area too.
We are from London and whenever in Los Angeles make a point of visiting Il Cielo if we possibly can. Everyone we have introduced over time also rates it as one of their favourites.
Quite simply - with its twinkling lights - and the ever growing palm tree - which must have grown 30' since we first visited..............it is a VERY special place.

My Fiance and I were just finishing up a celebratory trip to southern California and were recommended this restaurant for dinner. We could not have been more pleased with the food, service and atmosphere. What a wonderful spot for a great evening!

Spent a wonderful anniversary dinner. Everything from being greeted to being seated. And getting the most excellent service and attention from everyone working there. Made it a magical night. Food was excellent and our table was beautifully set up under a twinkle light arch way. In our own secluded cozy romantic section . Food was excellent and server was very kind and attentive. You can tell how much effort they put into every guest experience

THE RESTAURANT WAS BEAUTIFUL AND VERY ROMANTIC! THE STAFF WAS GREAT AND EVEN MADE RECOMMENDATIONS! I WAS THERE FOR MY BIRTHDAY AND REALLY LOVED IT. THE FOOD WAS GOOD BUT PORTIONS WERE SMALLER THAN I AM ACCUSTOMED TOO.

I went on Thursday to celebrate my 4 year anniversary with my spouse. We waited some time before the server showed up to help us. Aside from that, the waiter was very attentive and friendly. Food was great, everything tasted really good. Portions were just right on everything. Ambiance was romantic, very nicely decorated. The chairs were a bit uncomfortable which kind of killed the moment. There was a lot of wind toward the end of our meal which led to a lot of leaves and debris falling on our water and remainder of food. Restaurant assisted with cleaning up the table, but didn't really apologize or offer any comps to make up for it.
Overall, I enjoyed my meal and the restaurant. I would go again and recommend it to other people.

This restaurant is perfection! We let them know that it was our 20th anniversary and they went out of their way to make it a romantic and amazing experience. From rose petals on the table to a tall white tapered candle, it was so lovely. The twinkle-lit patio is beautiful! The food was spectacular and the service impeccable. We will definitely go back!

Our whole experience, food, service, ambiance, were outstanding. I haven't been to ll Cielo in a while and was pleasantly reminded of what a wonderful restaurant it is. I have already made plans to return next week.

Loved this place. And would come back. The food was great. A very romantic garden setting. Ideal place for a proposal. The only thing I didn't like was how long I had to wait for the waiter to actually come and take my order. I watched him go back and forth visiting other tables twice without stopping at mine. After about 15 minutes or so my wife had become irritated and started the timer on her phone. Almost 6 minutes had passed before he actually stopped at our table. She left the timer on the table so that he knew we were timing him. After that I had no other issue. The night was absolutely beautiful. I'd definitely go back.

The atmosphere was great but the food and service need improvement. For the price of the dinner plates you'd expect something more flavorful but you're just paying for the "experience" of dining under Christmas lights. After dinner, the valet attendant brought back my car wet on one side. When I asked him what happened, he laughed and said "sprinklers" and walked away. As the rest of the party was getting in the car, he came back and started wiping the car down with a napkin. An apology from him would have been enough. At least we got a good laugh.
The ambiance of this restaurant is very ...
The ambiance of this restaurant is very lovely. However, I would not recommend Il Cielo for the following reasons:
- The website's menu is deceiving, as it is impossible to determine which items are lunch, dinner, or one of their other categories. I had chosen this restaurant based on lunch menu items (and prices), only to find a completely different menu when I got there. However, the staff was nice enough to accommodate me with one of the lunch menu items (of course, though, with a much inflated price).
- The service was very disappointing. The staff did not notice empty water glasses; we had to ask for refills. In addition, when one of the staff came around with bread, he accidentally dropped a piece of tomato on the tablecloth by me and said, "Dangit!" Then he walked away without even picking/cleaning it up. I was a bit floored by his unprofessionalism in what was supposed to be a more refined restaurant.
- The food was not even enjoyable. The meals were tiny portions, my husband's pasta was undercooked, and neither of us liked the taste of our dishes.
Overall, I was very disappointed with my experience Il Cielo, except for the ambiance, especially because of the extremely high prices. My husband and I each ordered a glass of wine and an entree (no appetizers or desserts) and still paid over $100. I have never posted a review online before, so this is how strongly I felt about this particular dining experience.

Gorgeous setting with fine food, spotty service but all undermined by blasting music that undermines conversation. We asked 4 times to have the music turned lower but nothing happened. They could have understood if they had listened to attempted conversations at
the tables where the volume of voices was about 2/3 less than the volume of music which overwhelmed us. Service could have been more attentive. We had to ask for menus after 10 minutes. Then the waiter started to remove our wine and water glasses but we stopped him to point out we hadn't yet ordered our wine. Similarly we ordered apple tarts for dessert but it was brought with no knives or forkes! When we asked the waiter brought a knife. We asked again for forks. Is this really so difficult to understand? Meanwhile a flock of waiters stood staring at us in a cluster throughout the dinner. They need training! And shut off the music so patrons can enjoy conversations and not just food.

I'd had lunch there years ago before I moved out of town. My experience this week was everything I remembered and more. The food was gorgeous and gourmet delicious. The staff was generously friendly and attentive. I wish I lived closer to be there every week. I give them my highest recommendation!
