The view was incredible and the back lit menu cool. The menu was interesting and diverse. The food was high quality and cooked to perfection. We will definitely return to the restaurant but highly recommend especially at sunset.

We booked Thanksgiving dinner here because a Google search for "traditional Thanksgiving dinner in Key West" came up with Hot Tin Roof, and I have eaten here before. I have to say that we were a bit disappointed and left the restaurant still feeling hungry. I was expecting a turkey dinner! It turned out to be a nouvelle cuisine style ("where the biggest thing on your plate is the new potato") Thanksgiving dinner. It was just an OK experience. I was expecting more for $69 per person. The eating area was so dark, we could hardly see what was on the plate. We ordered a scallop appetizer, which consisted of one scallop, on a tiny frisee of lettuce. It had a bit of a fishy odor to it. The second course consisted of a couple of bites of burrata cheese. The main course was a disappointment. It was hard to see what was on the plate because of the darkness, but I got a mouthful of gristle on my first bite of the turkey. There were a couple of dollops of mashed potato and some brussels sprouts, but only a few bites of everything. The turkey was a bit overcooked. Were it not for the (very delicious) key lime pie dessert, I would have had to go to McDonald's afterwards. Our waiter, Chip, was OK, but he never offered us bread, and I thought it was part of the nouvelle cuisine never to ask for bread. But I saw it on other tables halfway through my dinner. It would have been nice to have some bread so I didn't leave the restaurant still hungry. I would not recommend this restaurant for a special occasion. No one wants nouvelle cuisine and eat like a bird (no pun intended!) for Thanksgiving dinner. Guess I have to wait for next year!

Great view of the sunset from our table outside at Hot Tin Roof. That is probably the best thing I can say about Thanksgiving dinner there. The wait staff was very attentive, too, but the meal and the ambiance were not so good. There was a band playing outside, just below on the deck, so the music was loud and not conducive to a quiet meal. I also had a couple people actually come up right behind me (one girl excused herself when she accidently elbowed me while trying to get a good photo of the sunset--that's how close!) to take pictures of the sunset. We ordered the Thanksgiving meal and got the 4 course traditional turkey dinner (mistake). The butternut squash soup and the greens salad were very good, but the turkey was dried out by 6pm. It did have some flavor, but no stuffing and very little gravy to keep it from being dried out. I should have gotten the grouper. We did not feel rushed and were able to enjoy our bottle of wine throughout the meal and relax with dessert and tea. At $70 pp for dried out turkey, I felt we did not get our money's worth, but we did get a few nice photos of sunset. High price to pay. Go to Zachary Taylor Park for the sunset or Mallory Square and then find a good place to dine. We got screwed and won't do it again.

Everything was excellent. Breathtaking view of the sunset in Key West. The restaurant made us feel very special as my best friend and I celebrated our 50th birthdays. From giving us the best table to birthday dessert. Thank you for a memorable evening.

Hot Tin Roof was highly recommended to us by the manager of the Key Lime Inn where we were staying for our vacation in Key West and it was one of the best meals that we had all week. We had 6:00 p.m. reservations, but happened to be in the area early and we were seated, without hesitation, at 5:00 p.m. outside on the patio overlooking the beautiful bay and just in time for the sunset. The food and the drinks were perfect and the Cuban bread that they serve with the dinner was excellent. Of course, we had to ask for more. I am the owner of a large manufacturing company and I am considering holding a conference at an area hotel and will hopefully be able to book reservations at this restaurant for my outside salesmen. That's how much we liked it!!!

The location was excellent as it was perfect to see the sunset at Mallory Square. The grilled swordfish was good but small portion as it was mixed with pokenta base and tempura battered asparagus. The meal was pricey but should if ordered other fish with a veggy ala carte. Service was excellent!

An excellent Sunday brunch, with every dish ordered freshly prepared. Great ocean views with cooling breeze. Fantastic Bloody Mary's with wide choice of individual spices and additions to your individual drink. Would recommend without hesitation: shame we're not staying until next weekend!

Nothing can beat Hot Tin Roof's Sunday brunch! Make sure you plan on going home and taking a nap when you're done - you'll be in the best food coma ever! Such a great value, unbelievably delicious food, unlimited mimosas and Bloody Mary's and the nicest staff on the island! Thanks so much for another fabulous time - I'm just glad we live here and can go any/every Sunday. If you're in Key West on a Sunday, do NOT miss this brunch!

The food and views were excellent. The service was very good and attentive. The only weird part is that the lighting is very dark to the point where you can't really see what you were eating. It was still delicious and there are lights on the plates and menus, it was just unexpected.

If outdoors with a view it is lovely BUT although we had requested outdoors, the first table offered had NO view - looking at a bush and worse. Only other table was open air inside- a #2 outdoor view. Seating was uncomfortable- seats too low and table too high. Food was OK, service fine. Would not return.

From a late notice request to move up our original reservation time to a complimentary glass of sparkling wine, everyone at the Hot Tin Roof went all out to ensure our 30th wedding anniversary would be a cherished memory.

The restaurant is gorgeous. The view is spectacular. The service is amazing. The food is delicious. The music coming from the musician at Sunset Pier is unbelievably loud and destroys any chance that there will ever be a sliver of any ambiance. Please do something about this because if this is corrected, your restaurant will be a slice of heaven in paradise! Until this happens I'm sorry to say we will not be back.

So disappointed. Foodie who asked concierge where we shouldn't leave without trying and this was the recommendation. Service was the worst. 30+ minutes before things arrived for everything we asked for. Sub par wine menu and food that finally did arrive was cold and below average. Server made excuses at the end of a 3 hour try on our patience. At least own your horrible excuse for "fine dining". It's so frustrating when you are willing to pay for 5 star service and quality and it still doesn't matter.
