About HOBNOB Restaurant
The Dining Room is located in the old parlour and still features its original crystal chandeliers. The room is now painted a warm persimmon colour and offers comfortable upholstered banquettes and wing back chairs along with the more traditional dining chair. Whether taking afternoon tea and scones or savouring a multi-course meal prepared by Chef de Cuisine Steve Sperling, dining at the HOBNOB Restaurant is always special.
Our wine list features the best that Niagara has to offer including a wonderful selection of ice wines to accompany that special dessert. During the warmer months, a candle lit dinner can be enjoyed on the side verandah which overlooks the gardens as well as North America's oldest golf course.
After dinner, guests are welcome to enjoy a glass of port or ice wine or perhaps a specialty coffee in the adjoining lounge or sit on the verandah to enjoy the evening sky.
The dining room is open seven days a week.

HOBNOB Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We had a wonderful veranda table overlooking the NOTL golf course and were very professionally waited on. HobNob aspires to the greatness of downtown Toronto restaurants like Alo and it succeeds quite well. A bottle of Tawse Winery's best Chardonnay topped off an enjoyable evening.
Niagara on the Lake is beautiful, but attracts bus loads of tourists. Hob Nob was a welcome escape from the hoards. We were seated on a glass enclosed veranda, a perfect spot for summer dining. Because we were staying at a connected hotel, we were eligible for a three course special at $55 pp plus wine, gratuity and tax. Otherwise, the tab could become pricey. I ordered the foie gras, black cod in miso and creme brulee-- all wonderful, as was the selection of wine by the glass, and the service. I could find no fault with anything.
My husband and I had lunch at Hob Nob on our way out of Niagra On the Lake after 5 days vacationing there. We had a lovely lunch on the porch. Our waitress was wonderful and after we expressed our interest in a stay at the hotel, she arranged for us to see a guest room. The service and food were wonderful. We had the shepards pie, green salad and scallops. We topped it off with the s'mores dessert. The meal was outstanding from start to finish. We will be back next year.
Unfortunately my first experience here was not a good one. The waitress took our order and we never saw her again until we had to ask other servers a few times for our Bill. Although others delivered our meal - no one filled our water,, checked how we were doing and how our meal was. I don't expect this is acceptable here. We left the waitress a 10% tip to show our displeasure and we usually top 18%. She did not apologize or ask any questions of us when we were settling our Bill so I think she realized her service was sub par.
Was disappointed in the food - found it very bland .
This experience soured it for me at HobNob.
The four of us had the tasting menu. Food was quite decent, both the scallop & pork belly and the foie gras appetizers were really good. The miso cod and the beef was average. But the major issue is they were really really slow. Our dinner started at 7:30pm , for a 6 course meal (counting cheese plate & dessert as two courses), we finished at 11:20pm. There was 30-40 mins wait between each course! Their seats are not that comfy, my back was in pain at the end of the night.
We both enjoyed the tasting menu with wine pairing. Substitutions for some items were easily accommodated. Food was fresh, well presented, delicious. Wine pairing could benefit from better wines (most too sweet for my liking). Great overall dining experience.
This elegant restaurant is at the far north end of the business district and tends to be unnoticed because of it. Pity, it may be the best restaurant in town. The six course tasting menu is almost irresistible, but if you can resist, many of the same dishes are on the ala carte menu. My wife had Black Cod with a miso broth and soba noodles. I had the Crispy Roast Chicken with spinach and two forms of celeric, roasted and pureed. Excellent wine menu as well.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at HobNob. We were seated outside on a lovely evening and it could not have been nicer. Our server was very efficient and knowledgeable. Everything we had to eat was really great. The mushroom soup was amazing. We had the chicken entree and the cod dish and they were both great. We liked our experience so much we booked another reservation in August for us and 2 other couples. We've been to many top restaurants in the area and this has been our favorite dining experience.
My husband and I ate at Hob Nob on a recent trip to Niagara-On-The-Lake. We sat outside on the veranda overlooking the golf course on a beautiful evening. We started with a complimentary amuse bouche of vichyssoise which was delicious. We shared the sea scallop and pork belly appetizer which was amazing. My husband had the beef tenderloin and was a bit disappointed because he asked for medium rare it was not evenly cooked. The outside edges were well done. For $48 I would expect a better job on temperature. I had crispy skinned black cod with tofu and it was delicious. Overall, a very nice meal.
This was a splendid recommendation from Open Table users. Took the trip with my wife for a Sunday evening early supper and was not disappointed. Good atmosphere and always a pleasant time in NOTL. The Charles Inn might be a nice place to stay and we will have to try that someday but it was just dinner this time. I have uploaded some pics of the meal and everything was great. Not outstanding but Great and i would heartily recommend it.
Great food and service - limited choices on menu, but all were very appealing to us and our selections (salmon and duck) were prepared perfectly. We ate dinner out on the patio, and it was very pleasant. Our server (Kim) was outstanding - very helpful in making selections and describing the dishes when they were served.
My husband and I ventured to NOTL for an overnight to celebrate my 60th birthday. I googled restaurants in the area within walking distance of where we were staying. I choose HobNob on the reviews I found. We both enjoyed our meals. He had duck and they prepared it exactly how he asked them to and my salmon was done that way too. I found my meal tasty. The only thing was that we chose a bottle of wine that was $65 dollars and when we found it at the winery it was priced at $25. Now I know there's going to be an increase in all restaurants on wine, but that was horrifying! I'm glad we didn't know that before we ordered the bottle LOL! All in all, I would recommend this restaurant because the waiter was great and the food was tasty!
Best dining in Niagara on the Lake; consistently delicious, creative, and superbly executed dishes. Excellent local wines. Top-notch service. Comfortably elegant, tho' well-worn dining room; recorded jazz doesn't interfere with conversation. Been dining here while on vacation for more than 10 years. Worth every penny. No restaurant we've tried--including the much-vaunted Treadwell and Tiara at Queen's Landing--compares to the fabulous food and drink, peaceful atmosphere, and excellent waitstaff at Hob Nob.
What a lovely historic restaurant to enjoy dinner in Niagara-on-the-Lake. We sat on the patio with lovely, green golf course around us. The Baby Arugula Salad was a nice start to the meal. The Grilled Tenderloin of Ontario beef was outstanding with the sides as a perfect compliment. My husband's beef tenderloin burger was tasty as well. Would definitely recommend Hobnob.
We had an abbreviated meal as we were heading to a reception later that evening, so we shared the pork belly and scallops appetizer, outstanding. My husband had the roasted chicken, which was moist and tender and I had the black cod, which was cooked to perfection. The servers were well trained, and ours was particularly friendly. The restaurant is in a historical building and if full of charm. We would return without hesitation.
