We had a great time. We were able to get a reservation for 7 at a reasonable time with little advance notice. Noise level is higher than I'd like but it worked out just fine. We'll go back.

Henry's is an historic building, old brick, rather dark inside, but cozy. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. We had a wedge salad (good), tempura cheese curds (OMG), and burgers (cooked med-well as requested and delicious). Their beer and cider menu is extensive, and some seasonal selections. Also worth mentioning that it is located near Powell's and lots of boutique shopping.
Nice place to hang out
The place is good to hangout and relax. Food - not the best in town but they have a great beer selection.

We loved our meal here. The menu is diverse, something for everyone. The cheese curds with pepper jelly were awesome! This place is great for gatherings, or dinner before an event downtown. If you are going for a romantic or quiet dinner, this isn't the place.
Henry's is a consistent Portland dining staple.
A large menu and a large restaurant combine for a great Portland night out. Henry's has long been a Portand food staple and will continue for many years. Their menu has a wide range and the Gorgonzola fries are a must have app. I never have anything bad at henrys however I am never leaving there ranting and raving about it. You know what you are going to get with Henry's and we often take out of towners here for dinner. It's reliable and pleasing to people with a vast variety of tastebuds. Until we meet again...

Wouldnt go for brunch again. Everything had been out a while and was cold, soggy, dried out. My daughter was rubbing the fresh fruit on her cookie to soften it. Bacon was good but was very disappointed of quality for 25.00 a person and didn't include anything to drink. Shouldn't have ordered off menu.
I ordered a toasted chicken club sandwich and apparently toasted meant slathered with a stick of butter and warmed, and it had an inch of mayo on each side of the bread with the smallest piece of chicken, which was about 1/4 the size of the bread. My son's chicken fingers were crisp to nearly burned. My daughter had the brunch buffet and I realize a buffet is always a gamble, but this was worse than usual. The server saw me scraping mayo off the bread and saw the huge pile on my plate with most of the bread left, and never asked how the meal was. Would not return.

Service was noteable. We asked to be moved due to large, vocal group next to us, and hostess gladly moved us to much quieter area. Server was quite knowledgeable about beers and ales on list and gave good recommendations.
Delicious and huge portions
I had not been to Henry's in a long time. I was attending a play at the Gerding Theater, 1 block away. I easily made OpenTable reservations for 3, and we were seated immediately upon arrival. We ordered 2 entries and split them among the 3 of us. The large portions of salmon and chicken were moist, tender, perfectly cooked. The mashed potatoes were unusual and delicious. I really thought I was done with mashed potatoes, but I loved these. The asparagus was also a large portion and cooked just right. I will return.
Great beer on tap
Food is ok....my salmon was absolutely terrific, but my husband's pizza was bland, flavorless. My salad didn't arrive before my meal, it actually went to the wrong person at our table, then when we told the waitress that my salad was missing, it never arrived until our dinner came. Very limited menu....most things are fried or sauced....i wouldn't recommend it other than for a pub style dinning experience...
I decided to come here for my birthday this year, and have dined at Henrys at the past so was very excited to come back. Upon arrival, the staff was friendly and went ahead and seated me at our table even though I was a couple of minutes early. It took 30 minutes and telling the hostess that we still haven't been seen yet by our waiter, for her to show up and take drink orders. There wasn't even water on the table! I decided to just let it go since they were busy, but when our food arrived one of my friends dish didn't come out until 10 minutes after everyone else, so they just had to sit there and watch the rest of us eat our food. We had to ask 3 times for more silverware and they never came by to refill our water glasses. I'm not an unreasonable person and realize that sometimes people just have a bad night, but I was pretty disappointed in Henrys-- I've always enjoyed their food and have never had issues in the past but I likely will not be returning. Hopefully they can improve their service in the future!
I came for my 22nd birthday with my dad for lunch and it was his first time at Henry's and he loved it! Our server Austin was great and he was so nice and friendly. Then I came later that evening with a bunch of my friends and we went to the bar and it was such a blast! The music was great, the staff was fun and helpful and the food is without question AMAZING!! I'm from Los Angeles and have been to a ton of nice restaurants but Henry's is by far my favorite restaurant to go to and my favorite bar to go to. Whenever anyone asks me to recommend a restaurant to them, I never hesitate to say Henry's. Thank you for always making my visits wonderful!!
This is one of our favorite places to dine when visiting Portland. Our daughter took us there originally and we have been back several times since. Great food and service.

Great Easter Brunch
A great brunch with choices for breakfast, lunch or both. You can always count on Henry's brunches to be great!
Good food for an Easter brunch buffet. Glad to see the bloody mary bar back. Haley was a great server. Very friendly.
Hostess staff very unprofessional
We arrived a few minutes early and the hostess staff declined to seat us until our exact reservation time even though numerous tables were available. The hostess staff generally dressed very sloppy and were not professional.
Decent casual dinner venue
Henry's is usually a reliable stopover for drinks and dinner with friends. Menu/food not as good this visit, 3-18-2016 as in the last several years. May or may not return depending how convenient it is for the rest of the evenings plans.
I'm sure this place is pretty great, but as a gf person I won't have the best take. They did have gf buns for burgers so I was satisfied.
We made reservations on-line for a hour later and when we arrived were seated immediately. So easy and fast. Being on the west side, parking was difficult and prices were a bit high. Food was good and waiter was attentive but it was mentioned it was my birthday and no acknowledgment for that and not even a dessert. Table across the isle was acknowledged with cake. So that was disappointing. I belong to Restaurants Unlimited and was using my Birthday points for this occasion.
Henry's has excellent food and drinks! We are fond of treating ourself at Henry's for almost all of our special occasions. Their Hard Pomegranate Lemonade is absolutely delicious and their beer list has something for anyone and everyone. The menu is diverse, but everything is cooked to perfection. I can't say I have had anything I haven't enjoyed! My go to is their salmon dish, the mashed potatoes are excellent.

We were sat promptly at our reservation time. Our table was beautifully setup and the restaurant was clean from top to bottom. As we waited for a couple of members of our group to arrive, we ordered drinks and appetizers, all of which were very good. When the remainder of our group arrived, the restaurant was quite busy and it took a while for our server to greet them and offer them beverages. Once their drinks were ordered, it took 25 minutes for our server to notice their beverages had not arrived. Our food came in a timely fashion and was served hot. Our server did not check back with us to see how everything tasted and to offer drink refills until it was time to clear the empty glasses and plates. We inquired with the hostess about our check as our server was busy with another table. When our check was delivered, we were told they were short staffed three servers for the evening and that there was chaos in the restaurant. Although she was busy, our server kept an upbeat attitude and always had a smile on her face. Overall, I would return to Henry's but I would not come on a Saturday night. I would expect the restaurant to be staffed with enough servers and see a manager/supervisor supporting them when sections are overwhelmed.

I've been increasingly disappointed with Henry's, and this may have been my last time I'll ever go there. Three of the last four times I've been there, they were out of one or more beers that I ordered. Beer they should have ample stock of. Last time I was there, they substituted a different beer without informing me. The food portions are getting smaller and they are going really light on the Gorgonzola cheese sauce on their fries, one of their signature items. They changed the chili a while back, and what used to be beanless chili is now chocked full of beans. I would love to think they will pull out of this and be as good as in the past, I see no signs of improvement over the last year. Still very tasty food, and large variety of beer, if they have what you order...
Food was good as well as the staff.

Really great dining experience to bring parents or out of town guests from the Midwest. The "feel" is fairly standard for something you might find in the suburbs, but is centrally located in the Pearl. The beer list is extensive, which is a huge plus! I'd say the restaurant has a sort of Yard House vibe. Nothing wrong with that! Just don't go in expecting a unique "Portland experience" and you'll have a great time. Definitely upgrade to the gorgonzola fries if you have the option; they are delicious! Portions are also huge, and the service was great.
Bad Food For Sure!
Food was pathetic. Kung Pao Chicken came with disgusting rice. Waitress should have offered white rice! French fries warm and good but hamburgers way too full of fillers to enjoy eating as a sandwich out with others. Both who ordered hamburgers had to eat with a fork. Will not be back for some time!
Love this place!
Wonderfully Delicious !!!! This was our 3rd visit and it was for dinner. Made an opentable reservation and were seated right on time. Our 2nd visit was happy hour! Lots of good food and drinks to pick from. Our 1st visit was Sunday Brunch...a gift from our son......Loved it! We especially loved the Bloody Mary bar, sad to hear they took it away.....my only question, why is it gone?
The food was amazing, unexpected for a bar and grill. The beer list was top-notch. Quite a gem of a place with an easily find-able location.
Excellent choices on tap. Tasty apps!
We only had appetizers and drinks. Full bar downstairs with an amazing selection on tap. Very lively bar, attentive bartenders. Hummus plate was divine, pretzel and cheese dips were delicious, calamari was good. Went upstairs to the billiards room. Bartender seemed to be having a bad night. Pool tables were in rough shape, I've never seen a cue ball with so many chips. Completely different atmosphere from the rest of the building. In short, loved the food and drinks while in the bar and the restaurant. We were disappointed with the billiards room and the "service" there.
Booth for two uncomfortably close to next table
Food was good. We asked for a booth for two hoping for more privacy. Turned out to be a bench seat across from a chair. Neighbors were uncomfortable close on both sides. I recommend getting a table.
Good but expensive
I orderdes the Caesar salad, and it was delicious but I HATE having to cut my own salad at a restaurant. Especially with a butter knife. I ended up not even eating half, because my husband was finished before I could get half way through. And the chili fries were really good, but... Needed more of the cheese sauce. There was practically none. Otherwise, everything was delicious. And, there's other menu items I would like to go try.
Had a nice evening
Easy to spend $100 on two people but the ambience makes it worthwhile. Professional staff and great decor. Happy hour boasts the best bang for your buck but overall a great place. Will go again!
Don't count on reservations
Don't understand why despite having reservations, we were made to wait 15 minutes for a table and there were at least a dozen empty tables. What's up with that? And this isn't the first time this has happened. If it's a staffing problem, they need to solve it. The food is OK but we would not go to Henry's except that it's the only decent place to eat near the Portland Center Stage.
Very good food. I think this place is underrated!
I have been coming here for years. Mostly happy hour. Tried breakfast (which was really good) but they no longer do that. Dinner was great. Prices are good-servings great! Service was fantastic.
