Our ever-changing, always-growing wine list features special wines that mostly come from our local Santa Barbara, Santa Ynez and Santa Maria Valley wine country but also features French, Italian and Spanish varietals.
Our friendly and knowledgeable staff will guide you through the menu featuring our farm-to-table selections and nightly specials to help you choose the perfect meal. Your server will then help you choose the perfect wine to pair with your menu selection.

This was our first experience and the ambiance and food was perfect for our dinner out for a special occasion. The lobster bisque was delicious and scallops were prepared perfectly. The service was friendly and well timed. We live locally and will definitely return again and again.

We celebrated our best friends 50th wedding anniversary with a dinner at Hadsten House. Each course was better than the previous one. We appreciated that the noise level was quiet even though many dining tables were filled. Our waiter was knowledgeable and also very friendly and made our dining experience even better. It was a memorable dinner that will long be remembered.

Very enjoyable, romantic birthday dinner. Our server was Brian - very knowledgeable and professional and friendly, not pretentious like upscale restaurant waitstaff can be. He and the other staff were attentive and took good care of us. I normally don't get excited about salads but the warm spinach with bacon-balsamic vinaigrette was amazing. We had the oven-braised short ribs and the filet mignon, both were delicious and made to order. The wine and beer list was lengthy, and dessert (Fuji apple pie) was a great finish. What more could anyone ask for...? Highly recommended.

We were staying at Hadsten House for the weekend and so decided to have dinner there after reading reviews. The service was slow, but friendly and helpful. The portions are HUGE and the food was quite rich. The combinations were good, but a lighter hand on the sauces would be nice. The outstanding Lobster Bisque should be shared as it is a meal unto itself. The scallops were of the large, diver variety and would have been great if placed atop sautéed vegetables or simple mashed potatoes instead of the parmesan risotto which was drenched in way too much sauce. The added beurre blanc was unnecessary. People at an adjoining table ordered burgers that were so large they had to be consumed with a knife and fork. If you have massive appetites and enjoy rich sauces, this is the place for you.
Great variety of entres and wonderful wine list!
Small dining room, but great food and excellent wine list! I would certainly go back. The squid ink pasta was amazing as was the pork belly appetizer. Also, the burger was enormous! Enough to share. Can't wait to go back again next time I am in Solvang.
It was my dad's 81st birthday and I took them to the Hadsten House. My step-mom is very particular about her food and if she does not like it you will know. She is still talking about how great the food was. She was also impressed had how quiet it was. Most of the restaurants in the valley require you to almost shout to be heard because the acuostics are so bad. This restaurant has a nice calm atmosphere and you can actually carry on a conversation just between the people at your table. The wait staff is very attentive and my dad highly recommends the onion rings as an appetizer. Even though this is owned by the tribe, I would definitely eat there again.

I made a reservation at the Hadsten House restaurant based on the reviews on Open Table. We also heard from locals that it was outstanding. I have to say that I was very disappointed in the meal. Although my husbands choice of the Pork Tenderloin was better, the pasta I ordered was mediocre at best. The flavors were 1 note and the Sausage used in the dish was tough and bland.
The service was timely and attentive.
Went here for a few reasons; (1) reviews were good, (2) hadn't been there before, & (3) it had available seating! First, don't let the location fool you. It's basically a restaurant located in the parking lot of the Hadsten House Inn, which really looks like mid-rate motel (although the reviews for the Inn seem pretty good!). The restaurant itself is open and nicely decorated. Our waiter was fairly attentive (lost him a few times) and was good about letting my wife sample a few wines until she found one she liked. As for the food, the french onion soup was unlike any french onion soup my wife or I had ever had...and not in a good way! It had no onions, was oily, and had some sort of spicy taste to it (picture chimichurri soup!). Needless to say, we returned it and the waiter took it off our bill. The wedge salad, on the other hand, was very good. For dinner, my duck breast was good, although the skin could've been a little crispier as the fat wasn't fully rendered, and my wife enjoyed her filet. All in all, it was a good meal, although when paying @ $100/person I expect a slightly elevated experience.
Pre Valentine Dinner
My wife and I ate here for dinner during our Valentine's weekend stay in Solvang. We started our meal sharing the Lobster Bisque, it was definitely big enough to share. She had the halibut and I had the short ribs. Both dinners tasted wonderful and plated beautifully.
Restaurant Week Dinner
Food was good and service fine.
Our only suggestion would be that a hostess station be added. There are 3 doors
into the large open dining room and no designated area to stand while waiting
for a table. Felt awkward just standing near the small bar. Saw other patrons
do the same walking in.
Who would of thought!
Had dinner there on a Wednesday night and only 2 of the tables were taken at 6:00. The waitress was wonderful and the food was quite good. This was my first time and I loved the decor. With the high ceilings, I am not sure how the noise level would be if the place was full. I do plan on going back again to try some of the other menu items. They all sounded wonderful and if they are as good as my first meal, I plan on making this a regular spot to dine.
We had a delightful anniversary dinner! The food was delicious, beautifully presented, cooked to perfection, expertly seasoned. The staff was very friendly, attentive without interrupting, and several of them had obviously seen the note on our reservation about our anniversary and went out of their way to extend congratulations. We chose a terrific Pinot Noir from the extensive wine list that was recommended by the staff and were impressed with how wonderful it was! Many thanks for a beautiful evening.
Nice Christmas Day Dinner!
First time my husband & I had dined at The Hadsten House. Our waiter was great, perfect in every way. Gave us good advice on food selections, mine being the scallops (they were divine) and my husband ordered the pork roast (he loved it). Portions were just right. An a la carte menu. Overall, we felt a bit overpriced but it wouldn't keep us from coming back.
Exceptional food for evening dining and quiet.
One of the best restaurants in the area. Manager Rory knew the wines. Chef did an outstanding job with the scallops and pork loin. The calamari appetizer was the best we've ever had. The servers appeared at appropriate time. Loved the quietness, the Manager Rory and friendly staff. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Fine dining. No rushing.
We also enjoyed the brunch buffet. It was good but nothing special.
Made my Wife's Birthday memorable!!
The restaurant was amazing, the food was a lot and it was very good. It took a while to get the food but we had nice hot bread and the server came to apologize for the late food but we were ok since we have a whole bottle of rose, we had a great experience in this restaurant and the ambiance and style is very chick and updated!! I would certainly come back to this restaurant! Also, they gave us a complementary creme brulee for my wife's Birthday!
Great place to eat
One of the top three restaurants in Solvang. This was our second dinner here and we will return if the opportunity presents itself. It came highly recommended by several local businesses. The food was excellent and the service attentive, but not obtrusive. Rita's pork loin was tender and my lamb was juicy. The bread was steaming, right out of the oven. Prices are on the higher end, but the meal was worth it. Excellent wine list and there is complimentary corkage for wines from affiliated local wineries (Alexander & Wayne and Arthur Earl).
I was totally impressed with the whole experience. The service and food was nothing but spectacular. I even had a special event and the staff made it memorable. I want to especially thank the manager, Rory Cox for being so professional. I was taken aback that she actually helped serve the meal to the table. I have never been in a higher end restaurant where that has ever happened. Props to her.
My mother, daughter and I had Thanksgiving dinner here. It was spectacular! There were actually vegan choices, which is rare in Solvang. I had the quinoa stuffed squash and a fantastic salad. Everything was fresh tasting and perfectly seasoned. The wine list is extensive. My daughter had the pasta with spinach, and it too was on point. Service was excellent and very attentive.

My husband just took me here for our 5th anniversary. This place is fantastic! When u first walk in it smells wonderful. The bistro is a bigger sized room with a bar and a great fireplace. They also have some lounge couches. Overall it was a very sweet dinner. We sat near the fireplace because the staff was on their game. 😍 they read our note about the anniversary. The staff was great, they were very knowledgable about the wines. I appreciated that! Husband and I both loved our meals. The waiter was nice enough to bring us extra plates to share abit easier. When we paid the bill my husband thought they made a mistake. It was very low for what we ordered. When he asked the waiter if
they could please double check the waiter responded, "OH, we took 15% off your meal. We wanted to help make sure you had a nice celebration." I was STUNNED! This place is amazing and they have earned a lifetime reservations from us when we make our visits. Go check them out!
