When owner Johnny Carrabba set out on his next restaurant venture, he knew his vision would include the fond memories he had of his dear grandmother Grace Mandola. Grace, also known to the family as Mama, was a Sicilian woman born to immigrant parents in Louisiana. She had a flair for cooking, hospitality, and deep faith.
She was known to make bread from scratch every Saturday for her legendary three-hour Sicilian Sunday lunches; and, her newly established family roots in Louisiana added interesting flavors to her home cooked meals. The entire Mandola family, including her five children and fourteen grandchildren, was regularly greeted in her home with smells of warm bread, well brewed sauces and homemade soups. It was around her table that her family learned the true meaning and value of relationships, friendships and good food. These memories are realized when one walks into Johnny Carrabba’s new restaurant, Grace's.

Grace's Ratings and Reviews
Lovely restaurant with a large parking lot and free valet parking. It was packed when we went on Sunday so make sure you have reservations. I got the crawfish Mac and cheese which I had heard about but was not on the menu. It was phenomenal!! My favorite part of the meal.
The food was okay. I would categorize it as generic, not inspired. I think they are trying to have too many things on the menu. You don't need Tex-Mex with your southern dishes.
There was nothing wrong with the place, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go again.
Solid place for a big group or family meal. Menu offers a wide variety of options to accommodate many tastes. I was doing Whole 30 during my visit to Graces and they easily accommodated my special dietary needs. The food was good and large portions. One downside is that it gets pretty busy and requires a wait even with reservations. Overall good experience though and look forward to going back for brunch! Pro tip - skip dessert and head to House of Pies across the street.
The hostess and wait staff are professionals and treat everyone with the appropriate amount of attention and respect. The ambiance of the restaurant is what I might describe as down home elegant. Wonderful menu selection and incredible flavor and quality delivered in the selections we made which included the chicken pot pie, stuffed pork chop, baked chicken, and stuffed chicken breast. Thank you!
Food was just ok. It's not bad but not impressive. We (2 adults and 1 child) went there for Sunday brunch. Brunch menu items have an automatic gratuity charge of 18% added to your bill. That's not on rest of the menu. We did order fro brunch menu. Food comes about 5 minutes after ordering. That tells me that it was pre-cooked. They are also only lukewarm. Service was not good in my opinion. We felt like the server was rushing us to leave. He wasn't as attentive to our table as to some others.
Overall, it was just ok. I had much better. Won't be back.
Overall the restaurant was wonderful. The service could have been a lot better due to the waiters standing around. We would have to look for someone if we had a question. Being that it was our first time their, the waiter did not give any recommendations nor pay attention as to when we asked questions. The food was very good and we would like to come back to try the brunch. Overall the scenery was wonderful. Great place to eat.
I have always loved Grace's and have been there many times, but it was not good on this visit. Slow service, badly made martini that had to be sent back ( and I am not that picky). Was given 2 menu's with two different prices , I guess they did not cull old menu's when they increases prices, had to ask more than once for correct condiment, was given sour cream instead of mayo, I ordered the spare ribs which I had had before and they were not as good, Did the recipe change??The sauce was too strong or off.... I guess they were overloaded that night and needed more staff...
This was a celebration of a friend's big promotion to CEO at her company and nothing special was done though I mentioned in my reservations.
On the whole, rather disappointing.
We went to Grace's for a birthday brunch celebration. I requested a seat by the fireplace. When we arrived we were told if was next to the first place, which was fine. However, it was a cold day and the fire was not lite, and the table we had was right next to the waiters galley (which was a little distracting). That was the only negative. Our waiter, Angel, was awesome. The food was delicious and the restaurant is pretty and comfortable. We also got a free birthday dessert!
Our service was bad..... Restaurant was very busy anf our waiter had too many tables. A ''major'' contributing factor was that the restaurant has totally inadequate bus staff... Very slow refills on tea and removal of plates. One of our group had extra sour cream for a dish and got very sick later in the evening. Obviously, bad sour cream.
One of my favorite places, only this time the seafood platter was disappointing. The fish had no flavor, shrimps were okay, but the stuffed crab was tasty. Sent the food back in hopes of getting better seasoned fish the second time. It came back the same. I boxed it up to give to my son at home. Although we weren't asking for anything, they comped our platters. I thought that was a great gesture!
I will continue to eat there, especially since the seafood campechanas is the BEST I've had!! Thanks Grace's!
The holiday season is a great time to spend with new and old friends. Some really good friends that we haven't seen in over a year called and we invited them to dinner at Grace's. The reservation was perfect an 'on time'. The table was good and the waiter was really great. The food selection is both fine dining and comfort food. We enjoyed all the food and the service was great and it all made for a perfect get together.
My family of 5 picked Grace's for dinner before heading to a play downtown. Everyone in the family found something on the menu that they throroughly enjoyed. The overall experience was excellent. The best part of the evening was our waiter, Loren. He was professional, engaging, attentive and made the evening better than we could have expected. We will be back and will definitely reserve a table in Loren's section.
