Glacier BrewHouse Ratings and Reviews
Usually I have nothing but good things to say about the GBH, but last week the cooks were off their game. One in our party ordered the double smoked rib eye special med rare. It arrived med well and was sent back. The replacement steak appeared to be in two pieces and looked nothing like the classic rib eye shape. It was full of gristle and tendons, not just the normal fat surrounding and marbling a rib eye. I ordered the flat iron steak med. It came medium but was very, very tough to chew. I knew it wouldn't be as tender as a fillet, but it was like shoe leather and the root beer glaze had a distinct burnt taste. The broccolini was uninspired, at best. Please try harder GBH! It will be a long time before I decide to come back. Thank you.
I had made a reservation for my daughters birthday. She likes the BrewHouse because of their gluten free options. When the hostess tried to seat us in the middle of the room, we asked for a booth and she was pretty rude about it :( ... But our waitress was great. We ordered calamari for our appetizer and that was fantastic! Our dinners were ... just ok ... my husbands ribs were covered in so much sauce that he had to scrape most of it off, and he could not taste the actual pork, he was very disappointed, but said nothing because he did not want our daughters birthday dinner interrupted. Dessert was delicious :)
With the reservation it was nice because there was an hour to 2 hour wait without it. It took awhile to get our intital drinks but once we got them the dinner progressed nicely. They were packed and it was very fun but not so loud you couldn't hear your own table.
Lovely dinner by the cozy fireplace! Great service and delicious food. My husband had the Rockfish and I had the house Blue salad and Bering Sea crab legs. Beautiful presentation on both entrees. Save room for desert! The original peanut butter pie was devine!
Glacier Brew House never disappoints! We travel to Alaska every year for fun and several times for business. Calamari appetizer, Herb Crusted Halibut! Bread Pudding ... mmmmmm. No trip is complete with a meal at the Glacier Brew House ... our favorite restaurant on the planet! ❤❤❤
High Quality Casual Restaurant! The beer cheese pretzel was yummy and a large portion. It was a relaxing but trendy environment to take the family or meet up with friends. This is the best one of its kind in Alaska. I have been to similar restaurants in Anchorage and I was disappointed about the food and atmosphere. This one redeem Alaska completely. I will going back soon.
Might be the night we were there...super busy, wait staff not very friendly, food took a long time to come out, disappointed in some entrees...had seafood on pineapple shell, no pineapple, dry cornmeal type breading on seafood, think most was salmon, no variety of seafood like advertised--wonder if they ran out of the usual seafood they use. Tiny bit of dry tasteless rice. Dry, bland, tasteless, not worth $35 by a long shot.
On a good note, coffee brown beer was excellent!
We came to the Brewhouse on a date. We were seated promptly and our waitress came to our table within 10 minutes of us being seated. We were not very impressed with the menu selection for the prices listed. We waited a long time for our food. Our food was very spicy and it was very loud in the restaurant. We will not be back.
I feel this place has a great atmosphere and that it's really interesting to be able to watch the chefs cook and look at the brewery kegs and the beautiful timber feel. I also really love the people there so accommodating and friendly. If your a person that gets cold the fireplace is so welcoming!
The food was not as good as it has been in the past. My guest and I ordered the same item and it was plated completely different and her ahi tuna was very fatty. The waitress was awesome though and made up for it! Not sure at this point I would go back. Seems like they are just not at holding themselves to the standards they used to.
