A great vineyard dining experience! The service was excellent and the atmosphere was very fun. The food was well prepared.
This was our first visit, party of 8. The food was great and perfect portions, except the filet mignon was smaller than we’re used to at other reputable restaurants. We ordered the filet mignon, lamb, beef short ribs, chipotle shrimp, halibut and clam chowder. Flavors were great.
It is a little pricey, we’ve even eaten at Morton’s steakhouse, Kincaids, which are $$, and the prices here come real close to that even if it is stated to be $.
The only other thing was... we saw other dishes online through open table and yelp but we did not see those items. Not sure if they switch out their menu often but it would be nice to have more of a pasta selection if they fall under “Italian” as type of food or change it on your site.
Food was average. Roasted cauliflower was more like steamed cauliflower. Crab dip had no crab that we could find. Flatbread toppings were great but crust was a little thick and dry. We ordered a side of fries and we had finished all our food and asked 3 different people about our fries before they arrived. Wine was good but took forever to get a glass. Waitress was really distracted and hard to track down. Place is really nice and has a great patio for a sunny day.
A lovely spot. Outdoor dining is delightful. A very congenial and service minded staff. The food was lovely. This was my third time there and I intend to go again.
The restaurant has lovely service, views, and food. Pricey for lunch.
Another delightful meal enjoyed at Garre to kick off our Livermore Wine Barrel Tasting weekend. We are never disappointed by the food, service or atmosphere!
We ate outside and our dog enjoyed a hamburger while we had a great pizza and good wine. A great place for lunch or brunch.
Three of us had lunch this week at Garre Cafe. Each had a different entree and we split an order of fantastic calamari. As we were leaving everyone commented how excellent their lunch was. It's a little out of the way, but the winery location is private, quiet, and quite lovely. I'm surprised they don't offer more wines, but what is on the list is fairly priced and goes well with the food. I look forward to returning.
Always excellent. Truly one of the best restaurants in the Tri-Valley!!!
I have never been disappointed at Garre. The food is tasty and the people are friendly. The only request I have is, when I make a reservation with open table for a Birthday lunch or dinner, it would be nice for that Birthday to be recognized. Let the person know you appreciate them coming in on their special day. Tell them Happy Birthday or give them a scoop of ice cream. I have taken 3 people on separate occasions in the last 2 months. The first time, we were given a Italian dessert for our all of us. The next 2 times, not even a “ Happy Birthday”.
Great food. Fried olives were a surprising hit!
My wife had the smoked pork chop and I had the chicken carbonara. My wife asked for no pink on the chop and it was on the dry side. My chicken also was a little over cooked in my dish.
The original location was sad and in need of repair. This restaurant and winery sure did a face lift. Food was good for what we had. Even a veggie burger. Wine is only theirs but good. Atmosphere was designed well. Napa Valley style. Going back soon.
Wine and food were very good. Our waiter seemed as if he had better things to do than help us. I would go again especial if there was different wait staff on.
Great Food, Great Service, Great views.
Outstanding every time! The value can not be beat!
Awful service and experience. Worst server ever. Will never go back.
Even though we had a reservation the hostess seemed very dismissive of us. She didn't actually seat us but instead pointed to a table outside and said "Hurry, grab that one before someone else does". It then took 15 minutes before a server greeted us, and then we had 3 different servers over the course of our meal. We were also told that we could only order appetizers, but then saw several other groups served burgers and entrees. The food was good but not great, and not worth $15+ per dish for appetizers. Not planning to return.
We went here for a ladies lunch after a wine tasting at another vineyard close by. We sat outside on the patio on a gorgeous day! We could not have been more pleased. The service was wonderful, always ensuring we had what we needed in a timely manner. The food was very good as well - we had crab cakes, sandwiches, and salads. We will be back!
Excellent location for lunch when you are in the Livermore Valley for wine tasting. Many fine wineries including their own Garre winery. Join the winery and get 10% of in the restaurant. We always have the deep fried olives for an appetizer. We enjoy the Cowboy burger, Salmon Sandwich and pizza. The salads are excellent.
Excelent place to bring friends for a relaxing and delicious lunch
I never have a bad experience yet with Garre Cafe dining in and out. Their foods are good. Friendly hostess and servers. During summer time or late spring their outdoor dining is perfect. The view that sorrounds Garre is breathtaking.
Food and wine were GREAT Staff was very pleasant and helpful
It was my third visit to the restaurant, but first since it moved to the new building. The upgraded dining room is simple yet gorgeous. The service was very good; the waiter knew exactly when to visit tables. Worth the money I paid.
This place is a hidden gem! The staff is so incredible, service is amazing. Their steaks are the best in Livermore! Just bought a home and Garre is very close and is our new go to restaurant.
Comfortable, casual atmosphere with really good food and wine. I love their sparkling champagne.
As we have experienced on previous visits to Garre, the service was wonderful and just attentive enough to not be intrusive, the food prepared like we requested and the atmosphere was just what we were looking for. We recommend Garre Restaurant and Wines to one and all.
Garré is an exceptional place. The service was excellent. The food was excellent. The wine was excellent. It was a comfortable non rushed atmosphere. We could have stayed for hours. It was an easy on line reservation.
Always enjoy dining at Garre`. They offer a varied menu, a nice environment, and good service.
Garre has always been a great find. With the construction of the new building a couple of years ago, it is definitely a hidden treasure. It’s a great place to meet friends or just enjoy a nice meal with your spouse. Garre has a really nice banquet room for anyone looking for a remote area to celebrate ANYTHING! Give them a try, you won’t be disappointed.
We arrived at 8:07 pm for an 8:00 pm reservation on a Saturday evening and they were locking the door. We knocked and the hostess told us they were closed. We told her we had an 8:00 pm reservation through Open Table and she reluctantly and rudely stated that if we "ate fast" they would serve us. No apology, no offer to welcome us back another time, no offered discount, no hospitality whatsoever. Just plain "go away" message. To drive all the way to the outskirts of Livermore to be left out in the cold was unacceptable. Open Table should remove them from the list of available restaurants since they are unwilling to honor reservations. If it weren't for the great service and meal at Nonni's Bistro in Pleasanton, which to our delight we found was open after 9:00 p.m., it would have been a ruin of a date night. So 5 stars go to Nonni's.
I always enjoy dining at Garre`. It is a great place to meet friends and colleagues for lunch.
We have eaten lunch many times at Garre but this was our first time for dinner. Service was excellent, wine superb (Cabernet 2014 by Garre), and the food was just great. Flavorful, cooked to our specifications, not over done. We highly recommend Garre to you.
My lentil soup, along with a serving of warmed, soft bread was delicious and perfect for a rainy-afternoon lunch. The facility is beautiful. Rosie, our wait lady, was sweet, professional, and gave us just-right attention— very efficient. (She deserves a raise!)
Service is a bit slow. I know they are trying to improve this.
My husband and I were celebrating our 23rd wedding anniversary. We live in Tracy and it was fun to get away and go to a place that was unique and served great food. I have also been here for many "girlfriend lunches" and have enjoyed the more casual atmosphere for their lunch time service.
This place is a best kept secret! The lunches are very tasty and not too expensive. The presentation of the food is beautiful too. Do try the fried olives as an appetizer-what a special treat. I believe dinner is only an option on the weekends.
Our favorite in Livermore!
Almost all their food is delicious, I was a little disappointed because their meet balls were a little dry this time around.
I would have like a phone call to confirm the reservation. I did called and left a voice mail but never got a phone call back.
The service was good,
more water refills were need it.
Waited 15 minutes for a menu/be acknowledge by our server.
