Fleming's Steakhouse - Indianapolis Ratings and Reviews
Were told would be seated close to our reservation time. As time passed had to asked when we'd be seated. Server (Caz) was inattentive, needed to ask for salad (that took forever) roll plate with knife was taken away before finished, water glasses not refilled timely, after dinner drink was served as a drink we did not order!
(We did voice opinion to Mark Krug, Operating Mgr, while dining/he apologized but the harm had been done. Began and ended on a sour note.)
Do not need to go back to this upscale restaurant. There are plenty of others!
Excellent food, service and ambiance. Our waiter was very prompt courteous and knowledgeable of the dishes available and the extensive wine list. The concierge desk was prompt, courteous and efficient. first time visiting your establishment but will not be the last.
Above and beyond service and that extra personal touch for our birthday dinner with a printed photo for each couple and a birthday card with bon-bons and a gift card for future visit. Very unexpected and pleasantly surprised. Top notch cocktails and wine service. Great wait staff and service staff.
We celebrated our 27th anniversary on December 24th, 2017. We were looking for a very nice, comfortable place with really good food that you'd look forward to a return visit before leaving the dinner table. Our choices were Eagles Nest, Ruth Christ, Seasons 52, & Ricks Boatyard. All we had visited before and the food has been a memorable good experience for each location. To return to these locations I knew would not be disappointing, but wanted to try something new, we 've not had before. Flemings, although it was a bit noisy - our 1st visit, the food was awesome, a bit pricey! But everything we had left us craving for another bite. We had Steak & lobster, the steak portions were take home portions. Again, pricey...but I would definitely recommend it for celebrations and special occasions.
We decided to try Fleming's for our anniversary, and we enjoyed the entire experience. We have eaten at other high end restaurants, but we liked the ambience at Fleming's more than the others. The servers were very attentive, and they even gave us a gift before we left. I highly recommend it!
Regular diner and have to say it was 'maybe' my worse/least favorite trip to Flemings.
1. Service was extremely slow, at times non-existent with waitress hanging around the kitchen or rearranging the dining room floor. She had to be waived to the table twice. I'm all about dining, but we want food and drink. I bet the lack of 'focus" missed at least one round of drinks. The restaurant was empty too.
2. We sat waiting for bread for 25 minutes and it didn't come unless we asked for it. Is that the norm?
3. Ordered two calamari's and sauce was non-existent or limited. not the norm when we have asked for it in the past.
4. Tempura Lobster was gummy, batter uncooked. Chef offered us a free desert.
5. Lava cake was burned on the bottom.
5. Back to service. Had to actually get up and get the waitress after she wouldn't (or anyone wouldn't ) come by the table for the final bill.
I'll call this a one off as we all know Fleming's is excellent!!
My husband and I were disappointed with our evening at Fleming’s. Our waiter was not very attentive maybe because he had a large party in a different room. It took quite some time for my husband to receive his wine. We were served dinner (by someone else) and our waiter was nowhere to be found. I had ordered a loaded baked potato but it came out plain. After about half way through our dinner, the manager stopped by to ask how everything was, and I told him about my potato, and he was quick to bring me sides to add to it. Our server still hasn’t come by which was surprising since I would fave thought the manager would have found him to make sure he would check in with us. However, we didn’t see our waiter until we were done with our meal.
Overall, the food was average. I don’t think it was necessarily worth how much it cost.
From the beginning of our night the hostess was rude when I approached her. In her defense our party arrived 1 hr early thinking we would have drinks and possibly get seated sooner than our reservation. After 45 min I approached the hostess stand and before I could open my mouth the hostess said, "Sir it's only 7:45, your reservation wasn't until 8pm". If it wasn't so late and didn't have people in from out of town I would have left right then and there. The food was delayed and our server was less than attentive to our table but he was nice over all. I paid $200 for food that wasn't $200 worthy. I will never go back.
We had a very good experience--Monday evening, less crowded, less noisy--we could actually have a dinner conversation without shouting (a rarity in restaurants these days). It's a steakhouse menu, but I opted for the sea bass, which was good. Everyone liked the brussel sprouts side. Our server, Francisco, was friendly and attentive as we celebrated my father's birthday (82)--he was made to feel special by everyone who came to the table.
We go to Flemings 2-3 times per year. It is always a treat and the food and service never, ever disappoint. We had a $40 "coupon" and used it for just a night out without the kids. Service is impeccable and well paced. I really like the small plate options.
Very nice service, food, and overall experience.
Mushroom ravioli appetizer was very good, albeit very small! Dry-aged New York strip was cooked perfectly. Sliced filet was a bit over cooked, but tasted very good. Flemings Potatoes were good, and the Brussels sprouts with bacon hit the spot.
Service was very good, the restaurant wasn't busy, so we had an attentive server. We did feel a bit rushed, but most likely due to us being the only table our server had.
Nice wine list. Dessert menu looked good but too much in the beginning left no room for the end!
Will visit again for another special occasion.
Starting off, they forgot to check us in to open table and called us 40 minutes later asking were we were. We ordered an appetizer and they forgot about it , and the server was dismissive when I questioned it. My salad and sour cream had onions despite me saying no onions and the person who brought it out to me argued about it. The manager never came by to apologize and the wait was overall long to have our server come by to check on us which is odd since it was 5 and pretty empty in the place.
My wife and I went to Fleming’s for Thanksgiving dinner. We ordered from the special holiday menu, and while we were waiting, I ordered a cocktail. When it arrived, there was essentially no alcohol in the drink- mainly ice- chilled mixer. By the time I was able to summon the attention of the wait staff, I felt that reordering the drink would have me drinking it close to the end of the entree, so when I finally did get their attention ( when the entree was delivered) they were kind enough to remove it from the bill. The wait staff was hard to find, and while I’m sure no one wanted to be working on a major holiday, my thought would be to provide an exceptional level of service, as befits the price, or stay closed on the holiday. Because this feedback is negative in tone, I hope the reader does not assume I’m complaining just as a matter of momentum, but I must mention that the food served ( Turkey and dressing, pumpkin cheesecake) was bland and, in the case of the turkey, over cooked. That may have been due to our later evening reservation. But, all in all, this visit certainly did not meet the level of service or quality of food we had come to expect from Fleming’s.
I ordered the 8oz filet and it was very tough. My husband angus ribeye he said was just ok nothing spectacular. Last year again for my birthday, when we visited Flemings the steak was amazing! Also very disappointed that there isn't potato side with the steaks anymore.
