Fleming's Steakhouse - Charlotte Ratings and Reviews
My dinning experience at Flemings, Charlotte NC was the best I've had in years! The food was great, the service was outstanding, and the whole experience was most enjoyable. We have dined at Flemings many times prior to the Carolina Panthers football game but this was the best yet. Our waiter, Jeffrey, and his staff were perfect. We even met chef Ricco, who, by the way, dropped by on his day off. He prepared one of his specialties, sauteed mushrooms, and even had two desserts prepared for us...all at no charge (delicious)! Now that was an extra customer service special touch! Please pass my compliments on to all who made this experience most enjoyable. See ya'll again soon.
Took my son for a father/son weekend for football game. We went to Fleming’s last year and it was great. Disappointed this year in the overall experience. The mushroom ravioli seemed to be frozen when last year it seemed the pasta was made from scratch and portion was larger. The real disappointment was the same manager as last year walked by my table at least 15 times at least and never asked how we were doing or how our food was. He was so concerned with a gentleman named Jason and his date that were obviously regulars and I saw him comp their food for a miss cooked steak the nite before. I actually said hello to the manager just to see what he would say and he just said...hello. The bar staff was awesome and my Manhattan was made perfectly. Probably will not go back which is a bummer. Basics go along way with me since I run a customer service business and complatincay happens but is unacceptable in a wonderful restaurant as yours.
Pet Peeve ... Waiters who say "my personal favorite on the wine list is such and such", it happens to be the most expensive. Why not, what price range are you looking at? Do you have a particular favorite? And at end of meal, why pour a glass and half when you can say, can I put a cork in that and bag it up? For what you spend on a dinner at Flemings you should expect better than Longhorn type service. Otherwise very good meal, food was excellent!
The atmosphere and service are great, but the food not so much. I had shrimp and scallops - that's two shrimp and two scallops for $45, and the shrimp were tough. The asparagus on the side was good, but nothing to jump up and down about. The chocolate lava cake dessert tasted like they forgot to add sugar, it was just boring.
The wines were good but the iPad they give you to search for wine is just a bit much when you are on a date and trying to get to know one another, not take a technology class.
Something has changed....in a good way! We haven't dined here in a while. Flemings had fallen out of our rotation because the past few times we went the service was OK, and the food was OK, but nothing special. Service was phenomenal Saturday night, I barely took a sip of water and the glass was topped off each time. My wine glass was always filled at an appropriate time. The food was flavorful and perfectly seasoned. Our server was terrific and not overbearing. We will definitely be back soon.
Fleming's did it again. They made a special occasion (anniversary) feel even more special. Flower petals on the tablecloth, a card recognizing our occasion, and every staff member acknowledging our day with genuine enthusiasm. The filet and ribeye we ordered were perfectly cooked, and the wedge salad, Fleming's potatoes and drinks were delicious. Our server Gene was knowledgeable and helpful, and other wait staff kept a close eye on our water glasses and any other needs. They also sent us home with handmade truffles wrapped with a bow. We don't go often, but when we do, Fleming's is worth every penny for the food AND the experience. Thank you!
Normally our Flemings experience is top notch. This evening the service was Extremely slow. It was a Sunday evening at 715 when we arrived. We did not leave until after 1030. We had a party of 8, 2 were children. We asked for more bread 3 times before one of the servers brought it. The appetizers came out cold. The lava cake came out either over baked or after sitting because the lava was gone. The place was not crowded so we couldn't understand the problem in the kitchen. Really, really off night.
Very much thank Jennifer, Michael, and everyone else for an unforgettable holiday dinner with outstanding food and services! They are a group of people who drive for perfection and specialize in creating fond/sweet memories for their customers, with excellent food and genuine care. It is a wonderful place for any occasions.
Disappointing experience, to say the least. Prime rib available on Sunday only. Bone-in filet was overdone for everyone in my party. Lackluster sides that were simply smothered in butter and salt. Overpriced and underdelivered - Gallery at the Ballantyne makes a better filet, and they have a full menu of other things too.
We have frequented the Flemings in Raleigh many times so when visiting Charlotte we saw there was a Flemings so why not go. The meal here was every bit as enjoyable as those we have had in the Raleigh location. Service was wonderful and attentive with the manager visiting our table several times to verify everything was as it should be. The burrata and tomato appetizer wonderful. The star of meal, the 12 ounce filet, perfect. It was cooked as ordered medium rare, the prime beef being almost fork tender. Mine was accompanied by shrimp and crab meat, my wife's with a sauté of wild mushrooms plus an ala Carte order of onion rings all excellent. The. Cheesecake and turtle fudge were great and each probably supplied a weeks worth of calories. Truly a wonderful dining experience including the service, the cooking, the food quality and the ambiance. Worth every penny.
