Service was so bad! Food was amazing. It was unbelievable how long we waited just to get change back to us. After waiting much too long for the bill that just frosted the cake. I understand when a restaurant is busy but this was 9:30am with more staff than filled tables. We went through 3 different waiters they were so disorganized and brought food to the table without the proper utensil to eat it. Our food sat while we waited to ask yet another person for something just to eat such amazing food.

A friend and I had Sunday brunch and were able, by request, to have a table in the quieter room facing Chapala. Margarita and Bloody Maria both very good. Friend had the beef short rib hash and I the pork belly "Benedict"...both were so good. Servers were very attentive and nice. I'd recommend it.

Short ribs that will melt in your mouth!
We like to find restaurants "off the beaten path" and such is the case with Finch and Fork. Located in the Kimpton Hotel it's close and easy to get to but doesn't feel too touristy. The ambiance is great but it is a bit loud so be prepared for that (maybe because it opens to the bar area as well?). Our food was delicious - short ribs that literally melt in your mouth and salmon that was prepared perfectly - and VERY generous portions. We actually were so full we skipped dessert (not like us at all!) Make reservations as they were busy and I don't think you could have gotten a seat anywhere if you just walked in. Don't miss this Santa Barbara restaurant - it's a great find!

We were in town for 1 night and decided to meet up with friends for dinner. This place was outstanding. The food, drinks, ambiance, service... Everything! We had such a great time! Would recommend everything we had including; scallops, burger, short ribs, mac & cheese. Great wine selection as well. Would definitely go back!

This restaurant is excellent. Food is usually well prepared; has a limited menu, but enough variety to please everyone. Ambience is nice, bar can be loud. Convenient downtown access and free valet parking with ticket validation!

Best hash! Hands down! The combination of flavors, they way the short ribs are cooked and succulently fall apart with the richest flavor punctuated by the horseradish and chimichurri atop perfectly cooked sweet potatoes -- nothing short of amazing! This dish inspires us to drive 2.5 hrs, just for breakfast.
After a pleasant experience a few weeks ...
After a pleasant experience a few weeks ago dining with a friend at Finch & Fork, I decided to book a solo reservation, but I have to say that this time it was the opposite of pleasant. To begin with: I was asked where I would like to sit and I replied that I would like a booth, but I was told I couldn't have one. When I noted that there were only 2 customers in the entire room, with each person sitting in a booth, I was told "in a half an hour the place will be completely filled, so you can't have a booth." I stood my ground, and was seated in a booth. (For the record, my reservation was for 5:30pm, and I noted that even by 6:30pm the room was only about a third full.)
After about 5 minutes someone came by and gave me a menu. Then after almost 15 minutes a waiter came by to take my order. Then after 20 minutes my order was delivered. (I kept track of the times quite precisely).
When I had finished eating and my dishes had been cleared, I waited and waited for the waiter to come by so I could request my check - but no luck. My waiter was nowhere to be seen for another 8 minutes, and when I finally did locate him I had to try to get his attention as he appeared to be enjoying himself conversing with a full table of people elsewhere.
I should also report that while I dined alone, beginning at 5:30pm, the noise level was quite moderate; however, my earlier experience, with a friend beginning at 6:30, the noise level was such that it became impossible to hold a conversation.

I made this reservation based on good reviews from family and friends. I no longer live in SB and wanted to try something different for my birthday dinner. I usually go to some of my "Favorites" while I'm in town but again, wanted to expand on my dining repetoire! :)
I'm glad I chose this restaurant as everyone enjoyed their meal... 6 out of 8 of us ordered the pork chop and it was amazing. I loved the brussel sprouts even more. DELISH! Thank you for making my birthday dinner special.

We have eaten there before and told our friends about how good it was. They drove an hour to the restaurant for a birthday celebration of prime rib. The portion was half of what it use to be. The food wasn't as good as it has been in the past.

We wanted to try a new place for us this visit to Santa Barbara and Finch and Fork was it!. I had made reservations on Open Table for 7:30 for a party of 3. When we arrived in the area, we found it difficult to find the parking that was available for the restaurant, though we did find street parking. When we entered the restaurant we were greeted and seated right away. The atmoshpere was very nice. Nicole our server introduced herself and from then on it was a very enjoyable evening.
We ordered cocktails while perusing the menu and enjoyed the pickled veggies which was a nice chang-up from traditional bread. We started with the Steak Tartare , entrees were the Skuna Bay Salmon, Rainbow Trout and the Short Ribs. The food was very good and was prepared perfectly. We ended up finishing our dinner with the delicious Toffee Cake and Espressos.
My only complaint or rather annoyance we had was one of dining guest did not want a hard liqueur drink so ask Nicole of there was a "House Cabernet" she said no house, but would recommend the glass of Cabernet that was reasonably priced., KNOWING we ordered house vodka cocktails $11.00 a drink. When the bill arrived and we were checking over, we were a little taken back by the cost of the glass of wine. Our bad for not asking exactly how much, but the servers bad for not telling us the price knowing we just ordered "House Liquor"
Unfortunately it left a bad taste to what was a wonderful dining experience up until that point.

I am very sorry to have to convey the following review of Finch & Fork: though the quality of the food and service was above reproach, the noise level was outrageously loud, making the dining experience most uncomfortable. It is quite unfortunate that such was the case, as the excellence of the menu, the food, and the service were of the highest quality.

Excellent service, excellent wine-by-the-glass choices, consistently great-quality food. I like that you can do small plates or a full meal. Somehow I always gravitate to the small plates and they were delicious here. This is not your typical hotel restaurant, it’s a destination in itself. We had the flatbread, brussel sprouts and cauliflower small plates between two ladies, the plates were ample enough to fill us up. By the way, really great pickled veggies at the table when you you’re seated. This is one of my favorite restaurants in town.

We had a wonderful relaxed meal. We could all hear each other and we didn't have to scream to be heard. The food was delicious, the wine recommendation perfect and the service terrific. I would definitely go back.

We grabbed a quick bite before a show, and the place was wonderful. Our server was really knowledgeable and wonderful. We ordered Fried Chicken (Tuesday Special) and the Trout dish. Both were outstanding! The fried chicken is among the best I've had, would highly recommend giving this place a try.

The food was great and so was the setting. Unfortunately, the staff seemed eager to get out of there. After asking how we were this evening, our host said that "now he could go home because we were the last reservation" while seating us to our table. Our server was knowledgable and made great recomendations. My husband had finished his meal and I was still eating half my dinner while our server brought a dessert menu to look at. She then brought us our check while we both had wine in our glasses. If she would have been patient, we would have spent more money and had after dinner cocktails with dessert.

Absolutely amazing brunch! The mimosa madness deal was great and the drinks were slightly stronger which we enjoyed! Eric, our waiter, was very nice and attentive. Will definitely come back the next time we are in Santa Barbara!

Our cocktails were perfect, the food was really good, but our server was in outer space. The assisting wait staff (for a Saturday lunch crowd) was also oblivious to the empty glasses and empty plates. We left after appetizers because the service was so bad.

Everything about the restaurant was great except the noise level, which for us was way too much. A large private party came in after us, and that upped the noise level considerably. Since we are in the senior crowd, this isn't fun for us. Still we would try this place again and hope for better luck. Food and service were excellent.

The 3 of us were celebrating 2 birthdays. We went on a foodie tour and wine tasting over 2 days. Finch & Fork was a delicious way to end our adventure. Our server was especially great and encouraged us to a complimentary dessert even though we were full. Thank you so very much. I highly recommend for many reasons.

Finch and Fork was absolutely great. The food was beyond good, we lucked out and happened in on "fried chicken night" which was the best my husband has ever had and he has been around!! Our server was delightful and extremely helpful! We stayed in Santa Barbara three nights, and ate at some of the supposed "top rated" spots and would put this right at the top!!!
