This is our go to place when visiting Pacific Grove for golf outings. We had 7:15 reservations but did not get seated to probably after 7:40, place was packed on a Monday night. Had to send back my Filet for more fire came back with a totally different steak cooked even less, never came back to check.

Our visit did not live up to previous experiences. Our waiter seemed confused and unresponsive to requests. He delivered plates to the wrong party members. The noise level in the large room was uncomfortable. The birthday person was disappointed in the overall experience as were some other members of the party. This experience did not represent favorable previous visits. One of my filet medallions was tough and griselly. I did not enjoy my order.

We ordered wine from the wine list, but after a long search, the waiter said they were out of it. Instead of offering another more expensive wine at the same price as the one they were out of, which other restaurants have done in this situation, we had to choose another wine.
Also, they had a dish called "nicoise canneloni". When we asked what made the canneloni "nicoise", the waiter didn't know and when he checked in the kitchen, they didn't know either. Other than the two comments above, we enjoyed this restaurant; plenty of free parking.

This restaurant was highly recommended by a friend while we're visiting Pacific Grove. This seems to be a very good restaurant—Good ambiance, great wines, and great service. I hate to write a negative review, but the halibut I ordered was overcooked. The fish was dried like chicken breast meat. My partner had an order of scallops and it was wonderful. So I guess you'd be happy if you don't order fish or make sure you instruct them how you like it instead of leaving it to the chef.

A unique and rambling interior, with divisions into small rooms of character with plenty of local color. Lamb chops and paella were both delicious. And some of the specialty dishes can get pretty expensive. Noisy and frenetic on our night, with very erratic service perhaps due to the pressure.

Fandango's continues to charm with it's excellent food and service. Seated by the Maitre d' in the cozy dining room, the furniture and lighting create an intimate ambiance, and set a high expectation for the meal to follow. And as always, Fandango's doesn't disappoint. My veal piccata was tender and succulent, with just the right zing of capers. My companion's lamb shank couscous was fall-off-the-bone tender and well seasoned.

Everyone we talked to recommended Fandango, and after enjoying a wonderful meal together, they were right. Beautiful interior, we sat near the fireplace. Excellent service! Definitely pricey, but everyone has their own ideas about what's costly and what isn't. Next time we're in the area, we'll be there!

Lovely restaurant with good service. Great food! This was a Friday night and it got busy by 7 p.m. We had an online reseration for 6:45 that was responded to immediately! We arrived at 6:30 and were seated immediately. Waiter was very professional. Pristine table cloth and fresh flowers at every table. After things got busy it was hard to get the dessert and the bill. But we did not mind the wait as we enjoyed the ambiance!
I would definitly recommend this restaurant, especially for an intimate meal. The place is pricey. The wife had duck and I had paella. We had a dessert. Price with tip was $107.50.

Overall the dining experience is always great at Fandango's! The food was excellent as usual; however the Paella was a little more watery than normal. We had a little wait for dessert, but the maître dee brought out a couple of glasses of port to compensate! My wife is a happy girl whenever we go to Fandango's - she loves the ambiance and the flowers are a nice touch! It will always be a go-to restaurant for us.

When we returned for Monterey Jazz Festival this year we made sure to schedule a second visit at Fandango. Group of seven for lunch--all very pleased. Varied menu, very nice setting, quality food and service. This is a serious restaurant in an area where there are quite a few tourist traps.

second time I've been to the restaurant. food was OK. Service was the worst of any restaurant I've been too. The waiter, several times asked me about the meal just as I had taken a forkfull of food or as I was chewing. The busboy every couple minutes would stop by to take my plate, even though the plate was at least 1/2 or more full. I don't plan to return.
Our first time at this restaurant. Love ...
Our first time at this restaurant. Loved the old world atmosphere. Low lighting, very Spanish, Parisian décor and food more French than Spanish. Everything was great except my duck which when I complained they informed me they were trying boneless duck instead of leg quarters and were planning to go back to quarters . The boneless was very tough and chewy. Glad they are changing back. Everything else was wonderful.

I have been here several times. I don't live in the area but when I get to come to that area I try to eat here. All I have to say is what happened, they must have sold. Food and service were poor, I even asked to sit downstairs because we had a couple of elderly that could not climb stairs. My family arrived before me and we're already upstairs by the time I arrived. Dinner was around 450.00 for 6 people, so not worth it.

I have been going to this restaurant for over 30 years, thru all kinds of life changes. It is always a superb place to relax, hang out and dine. The ambience has that certain "je ne sais quoi " that forgives other deficiencies--of which there are few, if any. The wait staff are pros, the feeling one of casual elegance, with several different rooms and a menu with lots of fresh catches and variety. Try it--you'll love it!

Wonderful place. Food superb; service equal to the food. We make sure we dine there every trip to Monterey/Carmel (2-3x/yr.) It will be a highlight of your visit to that area. Enjoy! PS don't miss their desserts, either!

The food was very good. The service was terrible. There were two of us, we had to ask several times for water, after dinner the dishes were not cleared for a very long time, and we waited forever for the bill, then again for the server to take our payment.
