Emeril's Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Overall a great dining experience. Visited for dinner during a last minute trip to New Orleans. With all the competition it did not disappoint. The only reason I did not rate 5 stars was that we had reservations for 8:30pm and were not seated until 9pm. The table was available but the staff seemed to be running behind. Once we sat down and ordered everything went smoothly. The lobster and mushroom, soup of the day was delicious. They have a good variety and exceeded our expectations. Best Mac and cheese I’ve ever had. I ordered the salmon and it was perfectly cooked.
We were very happy with the food. Selections are a bit limited but everything was delicious. I was having trouble deciding between the shrimp and grits or the andouille encrusted drum. Waiter recommended the drum because, he said, “you won’t find it like this anywhere else”. Turned out to be good advice. Service was excellent.
We went there on a date to celebrate my birthday on January 14, 2018. It was very disappointing! For my birthday dinner I ordered the salmon from the menu. I ordered as the chef suggested medium cooked. It actually came out a little dry and reduction sauce that was on the salmon was overpowering. My husband found the same with his meal, with the reduction sauce wait to strong and way too much. You cannot taste your dinner because of the strong flavors of the sauce. I was quite sad to walk away from the dinner knowing we had paid a lot of money for meal that really wasn’t tasty or worth a dollar. The service was excellent and the on the Ambience is fantastic but the chef needs to step it up a bit on the menu.
Emeril’s was fabulous. The service blew other restaurants out of the water. We also tried other notable restaurants on our trip that we’re credited to the NOLA food scene and they were okay but no service compared to Emerils. You never had to ask for any refills, they addressed you by your name, and whatever you wanted they were prompt with fulfilling your request.
The food options looked good but didn’t really taste as good as we thought it would be. The escargot were tough and oily. The wagyu strip steak just wasn’t as good as I expected it to be. The shrimp and grits that I had weren’t exceptional. For the reputation and price I expected better. We were a bit disappointed.
We were in NO from Chicago, looking for some authentic NO cuisine and immediately thought on Emerils. I was disappointed there was really no NO choices on the menu. Food was OK. I ordered a Louisiana Filet Med Rare - came our sliced and med well. The manager sensed my disappointment and took it back. Brought me another filet, not sliced and cooked correctly. I guess my disappointment was no crawfish etoufe or other standard NO cuisine with an Emeril twist...Huge wine menu, but the first bottle we picked...was out of stock. Not a bad restaurant, just not what we had expected.
I had a steak dinner which came with several things that seemed to be glopped together on a plate with no spacing in between. The steak was good but the rest of the meal was disappointing. My wife had a lettuce wedge with brown lettuce. I had Seafood Gumbo which was burned. Anyone, with a little skill can make a roux without burning it. In this Gumbo all you could taste was burnt flour.
One of the top meals I've had in my life!! Amazing from start to finish, and the wait staff is attentive, friendly and on point! Worth every single penny you spend there. Only thing I wished for was more wines in the $30-50 range. Wine list is extensive, but packed with very high end options. I tasted everyone's entree at our 5 person table and I could've licked every plate clean! Barbecue Salmon, Andouille Crusted Drum, Pork Chop, Lobster Bucatini and Wagyu Beef were our entree choices. Chicken Andouille gumbo - delicious and super dark roux - yum. The Duck Wings appetizer is a can't-miss item!! Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie for dessert - divine. They also had Free Valet Parking!
I had an incredible dining experience at Emeril's. I sat at the Chef's Table overlooking the kitchen. It was fascinating to observe the meal preparation process on so many levels with such relaxed efficiency. The wait staff was outstanding. I never wanted for anything and their recommendations were excellent
The service and food at Emeril's was amazing. We had 3 different gentlemen that took care of our table. We were never without a full glass to drink or fresh bread to eat. They were polite and extremely friendly.
we ordered the escargot, salmon and filet mignon. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly and the pureed potatoes were the creamiest I have ever tasted. The salmon was tender and juciy. The escargot melted in your mouth.
I would definitely recommend this restuarant!!!
We chose this restaurant based on our impressions of Emeril’s from TV. That was a mistake! The crab cake appetizer did not taste like it had any crab in it. Soup was OK as was the iceberg lettuce wedge. But the main course, which we were told we could share, a seafood dish, had one piece of round calamari, two shrimp, four mussels all sitting on a bed of rice in a sauce. We were shocked and complained and so they removed it ($34.00!) from the bill. What a rip-off to charge that much for next to nothing. We were told by locals that Emeril’s restaurant had gone downhill.
Service at bar while waiting for reservation at table was just fair, not very friendly or seemed to enjoy their job. The service at the table and other parts of the restaurant was awesome. Food was very tasty. I wish there were more options for vegetarians. We enjoyed our meal and would recommend and return.
We took our family to Emeril’s for a Christmas celebration. The food was wonderful; Joey provided excellent service. I left my scarf there and Casey had assured they will hold it in the office until we get back to pick it up. Great service all around! Love this place! Emeril can be proud of his staff here!
