Elixir Ratings and Reviews
We were warmly greeted and offered several table locations in claiming our reservation. The restaurant was very busy with pre-theatre diners, but the waitstaff was able to bring us our drinks and bread/olive oil while we settled in with the menu. The wine list was both very interesting and affordable, by glass or bottle. We ordered "antipasto for two" which was tasty, but skimpy to share. Another starter was duck confit which was very good. The petit filet steak was ordered rare, but tended almost to medium which detracted from the experience. Food was of good quality, well-presented, and with good, pleasant service. It was a birthday celebration and a surprise ice cream with candle was a very nice ending, along with attentive goodbyes from staff and owner. We'll certainly visit again, but may consider a less-busy evening or time without theatre crowd.
From the owner greting you at the door and sitting us to the outstanding service , everything was perfect . The antipasto for two fed three with everyone satisfied . The onion soup with carmalized onions was delicious as was the perfectly prepared steak . We will definitely return soon .
Excellent menu cooked from scratch. Elixir is ideal for a special occasion, the service was second to non, our waitress Lyn was excellent, providing advice regarding where we should visit while we are in the area. The best meal I have had in a long long time.
Great meal in a fun atmosphere. We split pumpkin risotto special , petit filet mignon, salad with bacon dressing. Steak was perfectly cooked and a good value for the price, pumpkin risotto was delicious. Service was friendly and professional. We would be regulars if not a 6 hour drive!
Cosmopolitan, lively but not noisy, atmospheric (dark wood, soft lights, good art), terrific food, comprehensive wine list, excellent service, and hosts who are welcoming. Great for a special occasion or an evening out. A New York buzz in an up and coming Vermont town.
We had a wonderful dinner with friends who were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. The food was outstanding. The Elixir salad was unusual and delectable. Also unique was the onion soup served with a small ball of cheese rather than the normal provolone on top of the bowl. The best part of the evening was our wonderful server. We told jokes at the table and she joined in with her own. Absolute "hoot".
We stopped by Elixer for a late dinner while in town for a work conference. The location made us a bit skeptical but our experience once we got inside was outstanding. The service was excellent and the food was even better. Would absolutely recommend this place to anyone considering it.
Elixir has become our favorite restaurant in the Upper Valley. We can always count on well-prepared food and excellent service. Jane and Skip, the owner/operators, are both very friendly and accommodating. While they generally have six or seven entrees, some of their appetizers can serve as "small-plate" meals. Wine choices are excellent and the prices for both individual glasses and full bottles are extremely fair. Very simply, a great place to dine !
Excellent food, excellent service and excellent attention to detail. Owners both visited our table for a chat and Skip surprised us with a nice gift for our anniversary! Our server was top notch, very friendly. Go to Elixir at every opportunity for a great experience!
Elixir has a short but imaginative menu. Presentations of all courses were exceptional. The dining room itself is not particularly prepossessing, and a window seat offers a rather depressing view of a dirt parking lot and abandoned railway tanker cars. Nonetheless, the service was very good overall, and quality of the dishes (duck confit/goat cheese spread, shrimp scampi, risotto, ice cream) was uniformly excellent. With a couple of glasses of good wine the bill came in way under $100 which, in our experience, is a very good value nowadays.
We loved our dinner here! The service was phenomenal, the drinks were delicious, the food was lovely. When you first drive in you may wonder if you're in the right place but once you're inside you know it's the place you were looking for! The next time we are in the area, we will definitely go back.
Food was great. Loved my salmon dish; although this time of year, it was a tempura scallion not a ramp. (Still delicious though!) Our server was super attentive and very friendly.
Thanks so much for a lovely date night while we were on vacation!! Highly recommended!
