Eleven Eleven Mississippi Ratings and Reviews
We were recommended to go to this restaurant by a friend, walked in and loved the atmosphere. However, we soon noticed that none of the dining staff seemed to be very happy, and this became more and more apparent as the night went on. Once we got our meal, I was not asked to cut my steak in half and we were only checked on once. We had to call the wait staff over to say the duck was RAW and the broccolini was BURNT. They also did not compensate us and only said sorry. Never have we ever tipped so little. This dinner took 1:45 mins and every wait was longer than normal - to order, wait for dinner, after we ate our meal, wait for dessert, and we finally called over the waiter for the check. Thank goodness we didn't order soup or salad. It should not take half an hour to get a dessert!
I come to STL for work every April and December. My plate was delicious. I had the braised pork shank with the potatoes au gratin. It was cooked to perfection and could have been eaten with a spoon. The flavor was wonderful, it was juicy moist. My partner & I split an order of the mussels. They were great with the sauce served underneath. Everything was great and well worth the price. I had a jalapeno-infused mezcal cocktail. I am a mezcal fan, and the cocktail with the cilantro and jalapeno was wonderful, even if it didn't pair with my meal. Every time I'm in STL I always make sure to stop by Eleven Eleven and recommend it to my coworkers looking for a great meal not far from Union Station Double Tree. I came here 3 years ago with my now-Wife and to this day she says the pumpkin ale-braised short rib is the best piece of meat she's ever had.
Will always come back when I'm in town.
This is one of my wife's favorite restaurants. We have been here a handful of times in the past, and have never been disappointed. We had dinner on a Thursday evening for her birthday. The restaurant was not full, but a good number of patrons were in attendance. About right for a weeknight.
Our meal was very good. We both had a drink first, and then our meal. My wife had the Salmon, and I had the ribeye stake. Both cooked to perfection. We followed up with the flourless chocolate cake. We are chocoholics, and this one was very good. I highly recommend it. It was also good to see that the manager came around to every table to see how everyone's meal was.
Exceptional food, drink, and service any time of the day. My wife and I had late reservations (10:30 pm) following a concert by the St. Louis Symphony and were immediately escorted to our table on the upper level by the very welcoming host. The restaurant is beautiful and the lighting is very warm and romantic. Our waiter, Gary, was absolutely exceptional. Wonderfully crafted cocktails were delivered with grace to our table within 5 minutes of arrival. The food was amazing - from appetizers through the main event. It was obvious that Eleven Eleven cares about the quality of any meal served to its patrons. I highly recommend their nightly specials with a side of the carmelized Brussels sprouts. In addition, their wine selection is superb. Even at modest prices, Eleven Eleven offers some very yummy varieties for any palette.
We arrived a little early for our reservation but were still seated right away by cheerful staff, not bad for a busy Saturday night. I kid you not, every person who worked there had a smile on their face. Everyone was kind and welcoming and added to the fun of the evening. Our server was excellent, he knew his stuff and was very nice and attentive as well as knew about menu items, could make a suggestion, he had tried some of the dishes and could give feedback. Couldn’t of asked for a better dining experience. Ok so now for the food, it was AWESOME! My husband tried the rabbit and loved it, I stuck with the petit filet, also cooked perfectly. Everything was seasoned to be flavorful but not over powering, Temps we perfect on meats and sides. We also had sides of risotto and broccoli, both very good. My husband enjoyed the Old Fashion drink from the bar, it was well made and he liked it so much he had 3!!! Ha! This was a date night and while the noise level is probably louder on a Sat night, it was hard for him to hear me, I’m deaf so I didn’t have any problems I just read his lips ha ha but he said it was a little loud. We highly recommend 1111, and the neighborhood was charming and safe, we were comfortable parking, walking etc must check it out if you haven’t been yet!
This is the third time in the past year I have visited this restaurant, each time it has been very good to outstanding. If you go all out and dine alone as I did ordering a bowl of shrimp and corn chowder (appetizer) , rib eye steak (entrée) with a wonderful potato accompaniment, napoleon with decaf coffee (dessert) and a beer off tap, the tab did run with tax and tip $70, but worth every penny.
Service was professional and prompt.
I’ve been to great restaurants all over the country and in Europe, Eleven ranks with the best of them. I’m on a vegetarian diet right now. We had a mushroom Parmesan dish, the stuffed artichokes, the veg polenta, and the gnudi. All excellent. The house focaccia with carmelized onions and dipping oil was extremely good. The puglia red available by the glass was outstanding.
I have been a fan of Eleven Eleven since it opened and I was living on Hickory Street in Lafayette Square. While I haven't been back as often since moving out of the neighborhood, I look forward to going whenever I have a chance. Such was my disposition when I went in with a friend for my birthday on Tuesday evening. It's a restaurant I talk about often and wanted my friend to have a good experience, much like I've always had there. Unfortunately, we didn't have a very good experience: the server seemed distracted and was often unavailable, the entrees (both pasta dishes) came out somewhat tepid, and the Shrimp Linguine dish wasn't even edible. It seemed like the pasta in both dishes was overcooked, as if they'd sat too long under heat lamps before serving. The restaurant wasn't very crowded and it wasn't particularly late...I'm just very disappointed. I hope my next experience is better. It'd be a shame if such a great restaurant were to slip into mediocrity.
We dined here for my birthday with another couple. The waiter was fantastic. The menu was creative and the specials were interesting. We all ordered something different and everyone loved their choice. The eggplant parmigiana was great with a combination of crisp and soft texture. Portions were not skimpy. The pork shank was fall-off the bone delicious and huge. We lingered over after dinner cocktails and did not feel rushed at all. The drive from Chesterfield to the city was worth it. We did not use the private dining room, but will keep it in mind for a special occasion because it looked lovely.
