In town for a conference and found this on trip advisor. Service was amazing. The crab cake appetizer and wedge salad were great. The seal bass was perfectly cooked. Very good wine list as well. Would definitely recommend

It's my second visit to an Eddie v's. Last year I had gone to the La Jolla location and don't remember the food as anything great. It was a work function and everyone felt the same. No one at work would be back. I had gone this time because a friend had wanted to go for their birthday.
The waiter was great. He helped in every aspect. I, on the other hand can't send food back. I've done it before and end up with something worse or just uncomfortable because I just don't trust the food after a complaint.
They were out of the halibut and I ended up with butterfish. It wasn't horrible but I've definitely had a much better meal. My partner ordered the 12 oz filet. We had planned on just splitting it between the two of us but he didn't care for mine at all and I wasn't all that impressed with his. He ordered it medium rare which it came out medium. The main problem was that it was cold. Had it been warm it would have been better. The meat was tender...just cold. Although we did have to wait a couple minutes for another person in the party to receive their food, I can't imagine those couple minutes getting it that cold.
Although service was great I just can't fathom spending 300 on a meal that I flat out don't care for.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We were catered to by Chanel, make sure to request her! She gracefully guided us in all the right directions. The oysters were fresh and briny, jumbo shrimp and scallops were delicious, and the 12oz filet was tender and broiled to perfection. I wish I saved room to try the Chocolate Cake!! We can't wait to go back!

We went here for my wife's birthday. Even though it was our first time there, we were greeted warmly and made comfortable from the moment we walked in the door. Our server, Scott, was warm, engaging and funny and made our dinner fun. All staff were extremely attentive and anticipated our needs with water, bread, etc. The food was delicious and the dessert, bananas foster was "the best desert I have ever eaten", per my wife. Highly recommended!

Went for a special occasion on October 3rd at 9:15 p.m.with two other friends, Waiter was very Dry and Short with us with placing our orders. He seemed upset when he asked if we wanted dessert and we refused. When he brought our checks he just threw them on the table and kept walking. Very rude and I will not be returning. I also left a note on the receipt for him.

Went for my 40th birthday, service, atmosphere, food...outstanding! They prepared a table for me with yellow rose petals and a Happy Birthday card when I arrived. They even gave me a choice of any dessert on the house, the banana foster, delicious! The lobster tacos were the best fish/seafood taco I've ever had. Highly recommend!

Eddie V's was fabulous. It has the ambiance and service of a fine dining restaurant, with the personal connection you can only receive at a local mom and pop joint. The staff was very friendly and personable. We got the lobster tails, which were massive and cooked to perfection. You'd be surprised how many places ruin lobster, not here, juicy and tender all the way. Would highly recommend!!! 5 stars!!!

I was very disappointed that the host forgot about us. After seeing multiple people be seated after we arrived, we finally asked the host about our table. She seemed like she forgot my name and didn't recognize it at all. Finally when our table was ready, the host asked another girl if she was ready to be seated. I was literally standing in front of them for 15-20 min but they seemed to forgot my name and who i even was. With the host being the first person that you interact with at a restaurant, it was very unfortunate that she did not meet the standard expectations for a restaurant.

Normally we go to Eddie V's in La Jolla, but it was booked way in advance. Decided to try the one in Seaport Village. Just assumed there was a view of the water (my fault), but that is not the case as it's actually across the street from the harbor. So there's no view whatsoever and no windows. Valet parking was $15. One the plus side, they had a small army of valets to park/retrieve your vehicle. So it took a fraction of the time to get our car as it would have in La Jolla. Service was good, but not as good as La Jolla. Overall a good experience, but we'll only go to La Jolla in the future.

I had the vegetable platter, it was very disappointing in addition to being cold the Brussel Sprouts were tasteless. One friend had the scallops and said they were wonderful another had a steak and said it too was wonderful. The desserts were amazing.

We had a table of 19 with a selected three course restaurant week menu as well as regular menu. Everything was great until the desserts were supposed to arrive. According to the manager, they ran out of caramel sauce so we never actually received our desserts in which we paid for on many three-course meals. Should have received more than an apology.

This is our first time at the one in seaport village although we have been to the one in la jolla. The food was great. My husband had a steak and he said it was in his top 3 (he eats a lot of steak a lot of great places) he had a great shrimp appetizer that I wished I had ordered instead of the salad which was good but the shrimp was great. The bananas foster cake is amazing!

My wife and I spent the weekend in San Diego Gaslamp Quarter. Decided to do one night of fine dining. Heard a lot about Eddie V's in La Jolla and decided to try the one in Seaport Village. It didn't disappoint. They lived up to the billing. We brought our own wine. It was decanted for us. Server was very attentive and made menu suggestions appropriately. We had soups, salads, and split the NY Strip along with crab stuffed shrimp. All the food was done perfectly.
They had a nice jazz trio playing near the bar, but you could also hear them in the dining room. It was not too loud but added a classy ambience to the dining experience. The whole experience was worth the money. We would definitely go back and would recommend Eddie V's to anyone going to San Diego!

I've been to Eddie V's before where I took out a buddy of mine to celebrate a birthday and decided to celebrate an anniversary w/ my wife who had never been here before. Upon approaching the restaurant you will notice that there is outdoor seating which is perfect for those who enjoy people watching. The outdoor seating is beside a main walkway for tourists going to/from the new shopping plaza and seaport village so you'll be sure to see all kinds of people if paying attention to strangers, as opposed to your date, is your kind of thing. We had a reservation at 8 but we got there early and we were asked if we wanted to take a table early, which we opted to do. Before being seated they asked if we were celebrating anything special and we told them our anniversary and we were quite surprised when we got to our table which was decorated with rose petals and a happy anniversary card waiting for us...perfect touch for the occasion. Our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable, and I never found myself trying to attract his attention for anything. My wife took his sea bass recommendation and I opted for the halibut. My wife came from New York and so it's quite notable when she tells me it is the best sea bass she had ever tasted. I gave a 4 for food only because although the flavors of the halibut dish were amazing, I found the halibut to be a little dry compared to halibut I've eaten elsewhere. Perhaps I'm the one in a million but definitely something to note in an honest review. Other than that I can't find anything negative about this place. When asked, we decided to skip dessert because we were too full for it but our waiter came back and told us he couldn't take no for an answer...because it was our anniversary and he gave us a custom light dessert compliments of the chef! I would definitely come back to this place and recommend it to others. Do try the truffle mac and cheese if you have room for a side dish...it will not disappoint!

We had an amazing evening. Dinner reservation was at 5:30 on a Friday night. We were sat immediately and they had rose petals and a personalized card acknowledging our special occasion. Definitely set the tone for the evening. We had a server in training. He was personable, knowledgable and did an excellent job with our orders, managing our table with the timing of each course without being ever present.
The food was amazing. We both tried something new, which is always a gamble at a place you've never eaten. We were not disappointed. I had the swordfish with crab and avocado and my husband had the Parmesan sole along with side dishes lobster mash potatoes and sautéed spinach. Yum!! And we shared the blackberry cobbler for dessert.
After dinner we had a few more drinks in the lounge while listening to live jazz. While the cobbler was good, Eddie B's specialty is the bananas Foster which our lounge server insisted we try and then proceeded to treat us to. Talk about a fabulous dessert!
We were impressed all around and I'm glad we took a chance at a new place and new food based on the reviews of other Open Table reviewers, which is always a gamble. I don't think you can go wrong with Eddie V's.

We went to dinner to celebrate our anniversary. What a nice surprise to find a card from the restaurant wishing us a happy anniversary on the table surrounded by rose petals. Nice touch! The food was wonderful especially the crab fried rice. I can't wait to go back.
