Delicious, quiet, and friendly service. Great ocean view.
Often go here for Sunday breakfast after church . The main attraction for us is the ocean side setting and the outside sitting in good weather.
As usual, the eggs etal were cold, the toast either burned or not toasted. Our waitress was great as was floor manager Tanner who much to our surprise comped our meal....The "hostess" was not friendly and having a reservation is a waste of time...Needs some work, but still a nice place for breakfast.
My daughter and I enjoyed a very relaxing lunch at Echo at the King and Prince resort. I ordered the Seafood FraDiavlo and my daughter ordered a delicious salad with grilled shrimp. We also shared a delicious pear/bourbon torte for our dessert. Our waitress was attentive and polite and the gorgeous view and atmosphere was perfect for a Friday afternoon of relaxation! We really enjoyed perusing the historical photos in the lobby as well. We most certainly will return:)
We had a lovely brunch with friends and sat outside. Such a nice ambiance!
Hostess was incredibly rude when we arrived and didn’t think to pause a phone call for at least five minutes while we stood at the stand waiting to be seated. Luckily, a dishwasher saw us and came to seat us and alert a waiter to our arrival. Food and service after that point were amazing.
Great place to eat. Good food, wonderful atmosphere. It's more than a typical restaurant but the food is well prepared.
Beautiful location. Lovely. Great food
Went for lunch prior to going to dinner at Echo's days later. Lunch was excellent all around. Dinner, not so. Ordered the muscle appetizer; about a third of the muscles were closed (bad) and the remainder were "slimy." When we told our server, she did nothing. She did tell the chef, who said the sliminess was probably because of the champagne and butter they were cooked in. What????? Server had super long finger nails, which seemed unsanitary. She also failed to pick up empty cocktail glasses and plates. Ladies room had no towels for drying hands... at 7:30 pm. Other than the muscles, food was good but not sure we will go back. Maybe for lunch.
Had a wonderful dinner. Only restaurant on St Simons Island on the water, our favorite. Service was friendly and courteous. Highly recommend!
Food was ok. Nothing not to brag about. I had reservations a month in advance and they put my wife and I in the back with minimal ocean view. Next time I will eat at Soul BarBQ
The worst prime rib I have ever tasted. They need to find a chef who knows how to cook prime rib.
Ate here Friday and Saturday night. Friday night was wonderful. Gentleman playing guitar was excellent. Saturday night reminded me of eating dinner in a college bar. Had to scream to communicate with our friends at the table. Saturday night seemed to more of a focus on the bar scene and not the restaurant. It was a shame this is a great place to eat. Just maybe not on Saturday nights.
Overwhelmed by the Valentines crowd but they handled ok.
We loved our experience at the echo. We would highly recommend this to anyone who wanted to have a casual upscale lunch that overlooks the Sea.
Wonderful relaxed meal. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive. Also, manager brought us a nice crostini as a thank you for booking with Open Table.
The food was delicious, can't wait to go back!
Food is very good and service is great. Nice and quiet so you can hear other talk.
My husband and I had lunch uiutside overlooking the ocean. It was a cool day but the heaters made the outdoors bearable. My husband said that his grouper sandwich was one of the best sandwiches he has ever had and he enjoyed the house made chips too. I had the seafood Cobb salad with blackened shrimp and smoked salmon — very tasty. Prices are high but in line with the outstanding quality of the food and service. The indoor dining room is beautiful too.
It was good but it always seems like they are understaffed.
Six of us (3 couples) went for dinner and to hear Free Soul (Monique) perform. We had a table in the bar area. She was fabulous and the atmosphere is great there, which is the only reason I rated them a 3 instead of a 2. The server was pleasant, Savannah, but not sure if she was new or just disengaged with her job. I had to ask several times to get ice since I like my red wine a little chilled. I ordered the lobster tail, but should know better than to do so in Georgia--small and with a slight ammonia taste. My husband got the prime rib and it had a lot of fat. The sides were not very appetizing--veggies. Three of our friends got the 3 or maybe it was 4 course meal, but never got their desserts, which were included. One friend got the oysters and she said they were very good, but overall the rest were not pleased with the food. I will go back again just to hear Monique perform, but mostly will try the appetizers and not full plates. It is disappointing because it is a great place in terms of the atmosphere, but they need to come up several levels on their food. The prices are not consistent with the quality of the food.
The daily fish special entree - red snapper - was thick cut and well cooked, but the risotto that came with the pan seared snapper was undercooked, to the extend of being a bit crunchy. Moreover, it took the waiter TWO trips to the kitchen and consultation with the chef to see if the chef can grill instead of pan searing the fish. The waiter commented that at the kitchen usually does not offer customization of the menu items, but since it is a slow night (only two tables including us plus a few young people at the bar), the chef will "accommodate".
We were dumbfounded: Do the staff or management know how condescending this is? Did they usually expected the customer to accept whatever the chef decides or do they really want the customers to beg for the mercy of the master chef for such a small tweak -grilling instead of pan-searing a piece of fish?
Are they aware that other restaurant with better menu choices are much more willing to "tweak" the menus?
The assistant manager greeted us when we arrived, asked about what our special occasion is, and did not do anything else as a welcoming gesture. He checked back once during the meal and dutifully asked how things were. Purely lip service. Poor management reflects in the attitude of the wait staff, poor quality of food and poor menu design.
NO WAY we are returning or recommending this restaurant to ANYONE. Stay AWAY unless you have money to burn and no other restaurant is open.
My wife and I spent our anniversary at the king and prince. We were married there in December of 2016. We specifically chose Echo to dine because of how amazing the catering was at our wedding. Still amazing, great service, and even better view.
Here for breakfast again..food ok but didn't get exactly what we ordered..lovely ocean view..usual confusion regarding reservation and table..timeliness of waitress service good.
It's nearby, but I don't usually go since it is located in a resort hotel. However, my dining companion had never been there before. We were both pleasantly surprised -- she by the atmosphere, and I by the great lunch menu selections. I ordered a cold seafood plate and it was a delightful assortment of clams, oysters, shrimp and scallops with a delicious lemon crème fraiche dressing served on the side. An ample portion and a good value!
Small portions and very high prices. Overpriced simply because it’s a hotel restaurant
Perfect location for a restaurant- the view was outstanding! The food was delicious! A small group of us went over for a Sunday brunch and it was very reasonable, not super pricey. The service was good!
Great food by the Ocean! Good Service. Recommend the cheese plate
Great place and great ambiance. Have driven to St. Simons several times over the past three years and try to always eat lunch at Echo. The hotel Christmas decorations were beautiful too. Certainly loved the 24 ft tall tree.
Eat breakfast here about once a week..lovely spot particularly when weather allows you to eat outside..Even inside with great beach and ocean view is great.
Breakfast food is good, but generally overpriced compared to other island breakfast spots...probably paying for the view..Table settings are sloppy..no spoons,no jams or jelly..
"Toast" is rarely toasted ...
This was our first visit to Echo to celebrate my birthday. We were seated at a table by the window but given it was mid December and dark we couldn’t view the ocean. Our server was extremely cordial and attentive. Against the advice a of a previous reviewer we both ordered the prime rib special dinner. The salad was terrific as was the recommended wine pairing. Unfortunately the prime rib was extremely disappointing; tough to cut and chew. When our server noted we weren’t entirely happy she called over the manager, Tanner. He was very apologetic and comped our main course. Overall we had a great experience at Echo. We will definitely return to see the view and try the seafood.
Very enjoyable dining experience - we enjoyed our dine from start to finish. We had Crawfish Stuffed Salmon that was outstanding and a Grilled Chicken sandwich.
The apple compote, brie, and arugula with the grilled chicken was perfect. Excellent service and food; the wine and beer choices are great.
We had a wonderful experience here. I saw reviews that questioned service but ours was excellent. The food was great. We both had grouper that was prepared perfectly. Recommend.
Our favorite waitress "Jackie" and our favorite manager "Jason" treated us like royalty on our 29th wedding anniversary. I just love coming to Echo at King and Prince. Always a relaxing and awesome place to visit.
Came for Sunday Brunch, and was disappointed in the menu options and service. Bloody Mary bar was great, and I would return for that; however, I would not recommend eating here for brunch.
I have had lunch here before, and it is a better menu. Still a beautiful place to sit and enjoy.
What a special restaurant... starting with the wonderful ambience right on the ocean. The view is incomparable and the best in St. Simons. The restaurant is upscale casual and the menu features fresh seafood and local specialties such as Shrimp n' Grits. My husband got the seared sea scallops on top of cheese grits and they were marvelous. I ordered the salmon stuffed with crawfish and it was equally wonderful. We were there for his birthday and will be going back for my birthday next month. Highly recommended.
Do NOT use Open Table to make reservations at this restaurant. This website allows you to make reservations at a time when the restaurant is not serving. And when you show up for the breakfast buffet at the reserved time, as we did, the hostess demands 'Did you make your reservation on opentable?' We answered yes and she snottily rolled her eyes and said, 'That figures. We're closed.' Ugh. What a crappy way to be treated.
Food and service were great per usual!
I’ve eaten at Echo 3-4 times now and the food is always great. I really enjoyed my meal this time too. So kudos to the kitchen staff. Unfortunately, the service leaves lot to be desired. Not only was our server inattentive, she was completely unprofessional. This is the same experience we’ve had in the past and all our friends feel the same way. Our server never went over the menu, didn’t tell us the specials until we asked, and didn’t know the ingredients for certain dishes. After receiving our food, our server never came to check on us. We had to flag her down for condiments, and call out to her as she passed by when we wanted our waters refilled. She never asked if we wanted another cocktail or glass of wine. I’ve never been a server at a restaurant, but I’ve eaten at enough nice restaurants to know how a well trained server acts. When I’m paying $40 for a seafood entree I expect my server to have a high level of competence. The King and Prince is a beautiful resort, but the restaurant staff is most definitely not up to par. In the future, we may have a drink at the Echo bar, but we will skip dinner.
I took my sister for her Birthday dinner. We were accommodated as requested with a water front view. James, our server, was terrific. At the end of the meal we were surprised by an elegant desert of ice cream and cheese cake in a bowl which was placed on a platter with Happy Birthday written on it in icing. We acknowledge this to be difficult in unskilled hands...nicely done.
It was a pleasurable outing
Always enjoy dinner on the water... great view and really great service. food was excellent.
