Domenica is a contemporary and inviting Italian restaurant that creates regional Italian dishes with southern and middle eastern influences. The cuisine combines Chef Alon Shaya's Israeli heritage and love of local ingredients with a menu that reflects his time spent cooking and living in the small towns of northern Italy.

We dined at Domenica prior to the Post Modern Juke Box show at the Orpheum. The pizza was very good. Service was okay but nothing outstanding. Waiter very quiet and lacked enthusiasm. I felt the food and drinks were overpriced. I would certainly recommend Domenica for a pre-theater snack or dinner.

I hadn't made reservations for our last night in NOLA. I used OpenTable and found that Domencia had seats available and was very close to our hotel, so I booked it. It was good; but nothing special. Perhaps my expectations were too high based on reviews and prestigious recognition. The pizza was good and the lasagna was good. The endive salad was the standout at the table. I would eat it all again; but I'd just as soon try another restaurant.
We found the restaurant uncomfortably loud and surprisingly casual.

Food was eh. Was not a big fan of the herbal alcoholic drink I ordered. Roasted cauliflower was good - but nothing to Rave about. Bread could have been better - non spicy olive oil was very good - pork chop was OK. Desert - chocolate pudding something was good. Too noisy. Their other dishes looked good -?pizza etc.

Domenica is always a treat. Although it lasts from 2p-5p, their Happy Hour is incredible. The roasted cauliflower is amazing served with whipped feta. The flatbreads are great and the lasagna is the one of my top 5 favorites. Our server Andrea was even kind enough to hold our leftovers for us to pick up after the performance we saw was over. Great vibes , great food and great service!

One of our new favorites in New Orleans. We came for dinner and had a difficult time selecting what to eat. We enjoyed our dinners so much and saw so many other great meals being served around us that we came back for lunch the next day. Pizza, corn/chive risotto, seafood were all fantastic but we were head over heals with the fried kale salad - amazing!

What could be better than a John Besh restaurant under the direction of Alon Shaya in the beautiful Roosevelt Hotel. Service great and food wonderful. Started by sharing the famous kale salad, the lasagna, the best ever, and the short ribs which were delicious. Great selection of wines too. A+ all the way around.

Best restaurant in New Orleans--period. Outstanding service, five star food, at half the price of most celebrity chef restaurants. Relaxed, fun, but still a fantastic fine dining experience. There is nothing like, or better than, Domenica's. Period!

Domenica is my all time favorite restaurant in NOLA. We saved it for our last night in town to celebrate my birthday and as usual, I was not disappointed. The food is awesome and creative. This night I had the squid ink pasta with crab and herbs and it was delish. Hubby ordered the lasagne and it was wonderful too. Our only regret was we weren't hungrier because the lasagna was huge and sooooo good and we couldn't finish it.

The best kale dish I've ever had, period. Really great service too. The dining room was a bit freezing for my taste but I know that's all subjective so next time I'll bring a warmer sweater! And there will definitely be a next time.

We took our college age daughter to Domenica for a celebration and really enjoyed it. The vibe is lively and the decor is fun. Food was delicious. Had the charcuterie board (which includes beniet crackers and wonderful jams YUM). Also risotto balls for appetizer that were okay. Daughter had gnocchi which was rich and wonderful. I had the bucatini with pancetta. Pasta tasted homemade. My husband had the lasagna and while a giant portion, he managed to consume it all. We all had a bite and it was fabulous! Our waiter was terrific and helped us select a moderately priced wine.
We will definitely be back to try other items on the menu. It all looked fantastic.

Service started strong but tapered off quickly after a large group was seated next to us. Appetizer and wine very good, disappointed with one entree, overly tomatoey sauce, poor presentation, not at all worth writing home about. Other entree -lasagne was good, very rich. Probably would not go back.

Domenica was wonderful! Our waittress Mallory (like Family Ties, she reminded us) was outstanding! Great personality, attentive, gave excellent recommendations, checked in just the right amount of times. The food was fabulous - tasty, unique, fresh, delightful. I'd definitely go back and would recommend to others. Thank you for a lovely evening.
