Able to make reservations for this past Friday evening. We had a wonderful experience.
Great wine selection. Had the Raymond Reserve Cab.. yummy.
Appetizer was Beef Carpaccio.. crusty bread had great flavor and the beef was light enough to not fill us up.
Next our entrees. I had the steak special.. butchers cut.. the cap of the ribeye. Great marble on it and tender. Ordered medium rare and cooked perfectly! Needed nothing else..My husband had the venison.. again medium rare.. tender and not gamey.
Disappointing experience. We've had dinner there 3-4 times, probably on weekends and all was good. We chose the restaurant to celebrate a birthday. The bar was packed, one other table was seated in the restaurant and finished shortly after we were seated. My dining partner ordered the special meat dish of the night - duck. It was tough and chewy. He was offered a replacement entree however I was done with my meal and he wasn't interested in waiting for an entree to be prepared. Staff was very nice and comped his entree. We've always thought of this restaurant as a special occasion place, not any more. We'd rather pay for good food than be comped for poor food.
I have been driving by Cuvee for years and never turned into the parking lot until last week. I feel like a complete gastronomic fool!!! This is a superb restaurant. The food was very fine and the wine list heavy with Rhone wines which I adore. The wine prices had something for every budget. I loved every moment of this meal and I can't wait to return.
Fabulous mixture of Southern charm and European elegance. The food was absolutely fabulous. The wine list was massive and had offerings for every pallet. The service was spectacular. Absolutely the best place in Destin. It is a great place for special occasions or just date night.
Amazing food! Only knock I had was there was a country music singer and his family behind us and the fawning/attention he received was superior (noticeably) to our service. Their water was chilled in an ice bucket, and I noticed this was not even offered to us. I ordered a coffee that never came until after we ate dessert, at that point I told them not to bother with the kona.
We loved the food,environment, and the service was amazing!! We had the quail cheese grits for an appetizer that that was terrific! I had the venison steak and potatoes. My sweet potatoes were a little closer to room temp but I didn't complain since it was close to closing. My guest had the duck and she said it was cooked to perfection!
It is a beautiful restaurant and obviously popular with locals, especially the bar; our waitress was lovely and service was great start to finish, from hostess to maitre d. But the food is nothing special, although competently prepared, and is expensive for what it is. The bread is not very good, and the carpaccio makes a serious misstep with the horseradish cream sauce; it overpowers the delicate flavor of the meat.
This is a local restaurant serving high quality food. The wine list is long....good pricing too. The bar was packed--they have happy hour that starts at 5:00 and runs until 9:00. Locals hit this place early and grab all the seats. We were the only couple in the restaurant at 6:30. Patrons started coming in around 7:30 - 8:00. Overall the food was excellent. Try the Fried Green Tomatoes with crawfish tails and brie appetizer....it's unbelievable!!!!
The ambiance was very nice. It was nice and quiet so my girlfriend and I could relax and have a conversation. The food was excellent from the appetizer to the desert. The wine was a little on the pricey side but the Malbec I had was delicious. Food prices were spot on for what you get as far as presentation and taste. My only complaint was the size of my entree. I was deciding between the venison and the seared tuna. Now I love both of these dishes but I am a sucker for some good Ahi. Knowing the portion would be pretty small I still decided to go with it over the venison, that was a mistake. Don't get me wrong, it was absolutely delicious. But for the same price as the venison I didn't get nearly enough food, and it was served without a side. It was served over spinach which went perfectly with the tuna but in the end it just wasn't enough food to be called an entree in my opinion. Had it not been for the appetizer and desert I certainly wouldn't have been satisfied. This is a perfect place for a first date, or any date in the future if you want great atmosphere and great food. We will definitely be going back in the future but I will most certainly choose another entree.
Food was overall good but only good, expectations were higher given menu prices and review ratings. And it was inconsistent - some things were quite good but others including chefs special that evening were quite disappointing. It did have a lovely bar scene so I expect that this is the main reason behind the high ratings.
My husband and I ate at Cuvee Destin while vacationing. I work at a chef-driven restaurant in my hometown, so I was very interested in Tim Creehan's restaurant--especially after reviewing the menu! We were greeted and promptly seated when we entered the restaurant. Our server, Mark, was excellent! Very well-informed on the wine list, menu, and specials. The food was delicious; I just wish I had saved room for dessert.
My wife were in Destin for a gettaway weekend and tried Cuvee. We loved it!!! Ambiance was romantic and service was very professional. We both chose the Grouper Vince, named for Vince Gill, and it was delicious! I only wish we had room to try one of their deserts. We will definitely return.
Cuvee was recommended by a resident of Destin, we were not disappointed! The service was good, the food fantastic and the wine list was extensive. The only negative was the firework sparkler on my husbands birthday dessert actually burned a hole in his nice dress shirt, oh well, causality of a fine dining experience.
