CRAVE - Galleria Ratings and Reviews
Food was good, service from our server was good. The restaurant is too packed. The host sat us at a table that was arranged in a certain configuration. It seemed that every server in that section made it a point to bump the back of my chair as they walked by as if to prove a point. If they had even acknowledged the bump I would have been fine. I'm sure their hips are covered in bruises after last night's dinner. I could not pull my chair in any further and I really don't think I'm that big of a person (5'10" 170lbs).
Crave went for quantity over quality on Valentines night dinner. We ordered their special dinner for two. The entree was the only item that met expectations. The rest of the food was sub-par. It was either cold or tasted like they took it out of a pre-package box and put it on a fancy plate. The waitress pushed the dessert on our table before I was even done with my entree. We were rushed from the get go and apparently Crave can only afford speakers for half of the restaurant. Ambiance did not exist.
I love CRAVE but every now and then they kind of go average... the Mexican role was off in texture. Also, I asked for it to be extra spicy and it was less than average in spice. My lunchmate ordered the Poke bowl with mango... it wasn't until right before they served it that the waitress noted being out of mango. She didn't offer I substitute. I asked if there was other fruit available - she didn't grasp the simple request; had to ask in about 3-4 different ways before she offered bringing a side of fruit. The waitress herself - super friendly but TOO friendly. She would join in on our conversations if she heard them - whether she was at our table at the time or even if she was behind our booth or in earshot. Far too much of a good thing, you know?
I ordered the buffalo burger and it was excellent. However, I chose the spinach salad as an accompaniment, but I am gluten sensitive, and the salad had couscous in it. Couscous is not gluten free. The salad was delicious, but I started eating it until I realized it had couscous in it. I told our waitress and she said she would tell them to change that on the menu.
Our waitress was very nice.
No matter how busy they are, the staff always seems genuinely happy to see you and provide quality experience. Nothing truly noteworthy in terms of signature dishes, but I love that I can enjoy sushi while everyone else in our party enjoys more traditional fare.
Crave is the only chain restaurant that I frequent. The menu is so big that everyone can find something they like. The sushi is good. The drinks are great. It's a little too spendy to be an every week kind of place, but it's a great option for when you want something nice but you also have to feed your kids. Their loyalty program is awesome.
Had to wait toooo long for our meal. We had appetizer but by the time the meals came, I couldn't enjoy it. So I didn't eat it. We had just sat around waiting, my husband and I. We did get free desserts but what's the point?? The evening was already spoilt. Management was nice but again, that could not make up for what we missed. They didn't say why our food was soooo very delayed, just that they didn't know why.
Our table of 4 at 5:30 were seated at table# 42. Is a good location, HOWEVER the three tables next to us were pushed together and three families with small children (3 each ages 2-5 ) were seated. Throughout our 90 min dinner, we had REAL difficulty hearing each other with the kids running around the table yelling, crying, and fighting. After finishing our dinner, the four of us departed the restaurant and visited Lou Nanne's where we did not have this problem. I'm not against serving families, but please be considerate of your patrons by seating families together in one area of the restaurant ( in a corner or towards the back ). Their table was directly in line of traffic. Had we not already ordered our food when these 3 tables were seated, we would have either requested re-seating or departed the restaurant. Food, service was good. But when conversation is constantly interrupted & difficult to hear, Management needs to review things.
Crave is a nice place to gather and have some savory food, its conveniently placed in malls and shopping centers. My only complaint is that it has increasingly become more commercial over the years, as they've grown, attention to detail has waned a bit, still the food is ok. Drinks are good.
Disappointed in that I called on Monday for a Friday reservation and ask for a table by the fireplace which was not granted. So why have a special request listed on your reservation? Also the mashed potatoes with the lemon chicken were like water. Poor quality. We like Crave but would appreciate our special requests to be granted.
One entree arrived cold and was sent back. Several minutes after the other 3 of us had started eating our entrees so they too didn't get cold , the returned entree was only luke warm when it was reserved . Very disappointed in the food and the service was mediocre. We should NOT have been charged for the cold, late entree! And the reastaurant was EMPTY, so there was no excuse!
We almost always enjoy the food but on our last visit the service in the bar area during happy hour was not good. Bless the server, but she was overwhelmed and not at all attentive. When we had questions about the bill (which sat with our payment for over 15 minutes, she was unable to help and sent the manager (who was very helpful).
We arrived about 5 minutes early for our reservation but we waited a half hour past our reservation time to be seated. Not sure why as when I went back to the hostess to inquire how much longer she said "sure we can seat you now." What? When we got to our table there were about 10 open tables that we could see. Our server was less than enthusiastic. She forgot my husband's drink and we had to ask again. She didn't brag up any of the features or the prefix menu they had going on for NYE. When she collected the dessert menu from the table next to us she handed it to me while still standing with them at their table with a "would you like to look at this?" Very odd. The food was OK, nothing special. We did really enjoy our salad/soup starters. This was our second visit on NYE to Crave and honestly probably our last. We just expected more.
We belong to frequent dining club. First disappointing experience with Crave. Portion sizes have shrunk. Waited 15 minutes to take our order. Server did apologize. The noise level made it difficult to carry on conversation. Poor craft beer selection (no local dark beers - despite many options). Just a few carrots with the Salmon previously generous sides. Coconut cake was delicious, however it was our second choice, as they were out of our favorite bread pudding already at 8PM. No manager present...
