Ordered a medium well filet and came back well done and dry. Husband ordered a steak rare and came back medium. Steamed broccoli was still half cold in the middle and partially cooked. Not the best green beans. Never did tell our server. Had reservations for 6:30, got there 15 minutes early and was told we'd be seated around 6:30. That didn't happen until 7. Was surprised and pleased with the complimentary glass of champagne for our anniversary. Waitress was great. We thought it was kinda pricey...
This had to be the worst experience we had at the Merrillville location. Are vegetables were cold. Our medallions were overcooked. The bread was rock hard. And the service was extremely slow. My son's chicken tenders were very rubbery and very hard to chew. The ahi tuna was inedible it was like chewing on a rubber eraser and it tasted awful. Highly disappointed and I don't know if we will be back.
Have been to this location many times. Always enjoyable. Was pleasantly surprised that is wasn't over-crowded like it is at times. Maybe it was because it was a Monday? Wine is always good and never disappoints. Quite a variety to choose from. Wine Club membership is a pretty good deal. Menu hasn't been updated in quite some time - at least from what I recall. I usually order the same thing anyway. This time however, my favorite, Betty's potatoes came out cold - like they were never cooked. Sent them back and it took awhile to get a new dish. This time piping hot but it took so long I was almost finished with my meal. Still have confidence and will be back. Make sure to grab a handful of mints on the way out.
Party of 2! First time eating lunch here. The food was delicious! We ordered off of the lunch menu, which was definitely enough food! The salmon was cooked to perfection and the prime rib sandwich was amazing! We also ordered dessert to split! Caramel Creme brûlée was served cold, but was very good.
Our waiter was very knowledgeable and attentive. He was able to answer all of our questions and pointed out answers in the menu.
I'd heard the place was nice, but wanted to judge for myself....and i gotta say, i was NOT disappointed! For a restaurant inside of a mall, i didn't expect to be impressed, but once inside, you forget all about it's location. a wonderful experience all around.
Walked up to a hostess who never said hello let alone cracked a smile. We Requested a booth for our anniversary. Got seated at a table then requested a booth again when the hostess made a slick comment, "well we don't just kick people out..." so rude. Husbands steak was wrong. His mac and cheese wad cold. Very disappointed. Our server was great. None of the issues we encountered were in her control. She did a great job as the fixer.
Arrived an hour early for our reservation in hopes to do a wine tasting first and the tasting room was packed so we had a drink at the restaurant across from Coops until our table was ready which was kind of a bummer. Dinner was still enjoyable, wine was good, and our server was great.
The hostess was very rude. The server came to our table 3 times before he asked for our drink order. When the drinks did come out the glasses were crusty and dirty, one of them had sour cream on it. The server was also very awkward and couldn't answer simple menu questions. My wife's food came out cold and mine was wrong. The pretzel bread didn't come out until we were almost finished with dinner. They didn't even offer some kind of discount or anything for our miserable experience.
Cooper's Hawk is always a great easy place to eat with lots of delicious choices and wine pairings. I wish this location weren't in a mall. Otherwise, the staff at this location is friendly, welcoming, and kind. Even when busy, they are attentive and helpful.
Getting pretty tired of all the problems that I have at Coopershawk. Between Merrillville and Orland Park, the last 5 times, our food order has been messed up. How does this keep happening? Some have been major, this one was minor. But this is an on going problem with your company. This is unbelievable that the waitress or the cook cannot get our whole meal correct. And then we were in a hurry to leave, we had a family emergency, and the computers were done. It took like 30 more mins or so to get our check and cashed out after we requested it. Really fed up. The food and wine are great, but the cooks and servers really need to be upgraded. Very frustrating.
First of all, make sure you use OpenTable to make a reservation. Walk-ins had to wait an hour and a half for a table. I walked outside, made a reservation on my phone and we were seated in 15 minutes, even though we came in after people who were told there was a 90 minute wait.
The meatball appetizers were good and the service was phenomenal but the food was mediocre at best.
Overall great experience. My only disappointment was I specifically requested a booth and was sat at a table. I asked the hostess about it and she said none were available, however there was 3 open and ready to be seated when we walked back. The hostess was very unfriendly to us. Luckiky our server was AMAZING and made up for it!! And the food was good as always.
We enjoyed a get together with a mixed-aged group. Each person had something they liked to eat and the portions were just right. Glad there are gluten-free and lighter side options. Prices are a bit high for the senior budget. Would like to see discounts for seniors as a good customer service piece.
The serve was not attentive, served knowingly flat soda due to the soda being flat on the service line so we were told. There were 5 of us and one of the orders were completely wrong. The rest of us were done eating by the time the order finally came. One order should have had asparagus never got when asked was offer a chocolate cover strawberry. Ordered dessert and one of them was not delivered until asked about. Poor service, server could have cared less. Still left her a $30 tip. Call me a fool! Not again.
It was the first time here for the family and I and we had a great time. Food was good, service even better and didn’t have to wait long for our reservation. Why can’t all the restaurants we go to have food and service this good. Keep it up Coopers Hawk and we will definitely be back again!
