My husband &I had a great date Saturday with wonderful food, prepared to perfection and a very nice atmosphere. Service was very good. We look forward to our next visit. Thanks to all who contributed to make the occasion memorable...

I took my two daughters for dinner. One daughter complained of the lighting--too dark. But she loved everything else. The attentiveness of our waiter was excellent and professional--he was there to serve us not become part of our family. The food was excellent--all three of us had steak and it was cooked exactly as each ordered. The quality of the meat was outstanding--all us agreed we never tasted a better steak in Pennsylvania. The noise level was a bit loud but that was due to an especially loud group--the only thing I can say is they were feeling like us comfortable and happy to be there. The price was moderately high but included cocktails, appetizers, main course, desert and coffee. Actually, the price was well worth the two hours we spent there--we never felt rushed. The experience we agreed was exceptional for our area. There might be a better place but I haven't found it in Lancaster. OH, check out the restroom an experience in class! It's the little things that set you apart from the crowd and Checkers does the little things well. Can't wait to take my wife. We will be back.

It was our wedding anniversary and we were treated with grace and elegance from the moment we walked in.We were wished a Happy Anniversary from the hostess as well as our waitress, Sonja. Sonja was extremely courteous and helpful throughout the evening and was especially knowledgeable of the wines. Our calamari appetizer was the best we have ever had. Our entrees were served timely and were extremely well tasting.
Kudos to the entire staff. We will definitely be returning!

We love it at checkers! Our waiter was good but not very personable. I said we are celebrating a birthday and we didn't get any kind of happy birthday written chocolate like I have in the past so that was a little disappointing.

Our cocktails were very tasty and original. The food was amazing, although my friend thought her dinner was a bit tiny. The bread was fresh and hot. The ambiance was warm and a bit loud. The service was stellar. It would have been nice for a small dinner salad to be included with the entree to enhance the value. Overall, I would recommend it to friends and warn them it's a bit pricey.

I spent the day with my sister-in-law in Lancaster celebrating her birthday. We traveled from Maryland and I did some research on a spot for lunch. I am so glad I landed on Checkers Bistro. I just loved everything about our experience. First if all the décor of the restaurant is amazing. Staff was very friendly and the best thing about the visit was the food. Delicious!!! I am such a food snob and have discriminating taste. I love delicious food and don't mind paying for it. I was not disappointed (neither was my sister-in-law).
I had the burger with fries. It was one of the best burgers I have had in a long time. I don't eat red meat often but when I do I wasn't it to be delicious. This burger was moist, juicy, seasoned perfectly, cooked just the way I wanted it, the bun was fresh and soft and toasted lightly. The lettuce and tomato was so fresh I was sure they went into a garden in the back of the restaurant and picked them right before making my plant. French fries were hot and crispy...fresh cut. I truly enjoyed them both. My sister-in-law had the French Toast with a bourbon peach glazed. Amazing!!! I am making plans to go back as soon as I can. Wish I could pick the restaurant up and move it closer to me. Will be a returning customer.

During business trips to Lancaster area we often dine at Checkers Bistro. The menu options are excellent and the quality of the food is incredible. They have a nice bar for pre-dinner cocktails, or even for eating at the bar. The dining room is very nice with an assortment of seating arrangements located in various smaller areas. It makes for a cozy dining atmosphere wherever you sit.
I would highly recommend the tuna frites. It's unique to Checkers and is always outstanding.

I have to mention the hostess totally set the tone for a wonderful evening. Very friendly, welcoming and personable! Everyone for that matter was welcoming and genuinely nice. The decor was very nice, and surprising for Lancaster. (We are Philly people) Overall a cute date night spot! The onion soup and profiteroles were my favorite. They made a birthday dinner romantic and special. Thank you!

Food was very good, but service was slow...we told our waiter we had an 8:00 show and arrived at 6:15, hoping that was plenty of time...it wasn't and we ended up having to eat very quickly and leave....Hard to enjoy the delicious food when you have to gobble it down!

Very surprised to see such a fine restaurant in a strip mall setting, the food exceeded our expectations. The broiled chicken was one of the tastiest dishes I ever ate . The waitress made us feel like we were her only customers. We are going to make sure we have reservations for Checkers next time we are in Lancaster.

I celebrated my wedding anniversary with my wife and had flowers delivered prior to our arrival. We were seated in a location that accommodated the added flowers and still allowed for plenty of dining space. We could see a few other couples at smaller tables, so we knew this was done purposely by the staff. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was very pleasant. The wait staff was extraordinary, they even surprised us by writing "Happy Anniversary" across the plate we ordered dessert on. An added touch I did not request, but a fine touch by the waitress,
Mandy, and her team. Overall it was an amazing dining experience, which ran about 30 minutes past closing time, but no one seemed to care. I will definitely be returning for not just the great fare, but also superb service and amazing facilities.

We visited Checkers for restaurant week and at the recommendation of a friend. We're glad we went! It was surprising how friendly and accommodating the staff was. We had an issue with our reservation time and they were able to move us later without any issue. We got lobster bisque and calamari to start, which were phenomenal. For dinner we got the filet, which was good, and the scallops, which were excellent.

We have been to Checkers several times now and have always loved our experience. Frankly, as a younger couple, it can be a little intimidating going to a place with such class. However, our server Sonya has always made us feel welcome and comfortable. That's why we always request her! She always has a helpful suggestion, always knows the meals we ask about, and always takes the moment to treat us with respect. And, the rest of the staff follows suit. Checkers is our favorite special place to eat: anniversaries, celebrations, birthdays. We always feel like honored guests.
Besides service and experience, the food is phenomenal. My cousin is a personal chef and so I always look forward to holidays and family gatherings- his palate would be satisfied, if not challenged by the fantastic flavors at Checkers. Thank you for maintaining a level of quality and class that this city needs. We'll be back!
