Food not as good as usual. Appetizer came out cold (spinach dip). Two orders had the sides wrong.
Full house some food are done properly
The crab was over cooked and poor quality. The lamb, and steak were cooked to perfection.
The manager was so rude to the hostess. Food was under cooked, sent back 2x and it was still undercooked.
The waiter Casey was a rockstar for how busy it was that day.
My husband and I enjoyed our dinner! Recommend to everyone!
Food took quite a long time to arrive. I ordered the petite fillet mignon medium rare and a plain baked potato the food took a very long time to get there when it did the steak was completely cold even though it was done correctly on the interior it was completely cold and the baked potato was grainy not flaky and not hot.
I had not been to the Cattle Company for years, almost 20. My friends suggested it. They had a coupon. The atmosphere was rustic, just like I remembered, but not run down. I was surprised. The service however, I arrived before my friends and ordered a drink at our table, they arrived 15 minutes later, my drink had not arrived. They ordered drinks and appetizers. Everything came, except my drink! I was bummed. Asked our waiter who said he thought that had been delivered. Well, I got my drink after 20 minutes and it was wrong. Even when the waiter took it to 'get it right' it came back wrong. Our appetizer came, it was just ok, spinach and artichoke dip. Ordered entrees and sides. My girlfriend and I each ordered loaded baked potatoes. Hers came with bacon and cheese and chives and sour cream and butter, mine....sour cream, bummed again. Mentioned to the waiter that I sure would have liked to have the same as hers, well, he went to get it! Yay. We finished our meal and here comes my potato. I took it home for breakfast.
Brittany our server gave incredible service! Fun, Fast, and Friendly! The food was great! The only request we had which was special, was real butter not the half and half margarine most businesses are using these days. Sure enough real butter was provided. An enjoyable evening with great food, atmosphere, and service. One of my most favorite places in Anchorage! Especially if you want seafood or steak! Their steak nachos are great too!
Don't know if this was an off day or what. We were seated in the bar area and the bartender was our server. He seemed very distracted between the two duties. After taking our order, he brought us bread and then left us alone for 15-20 minutes or so. When he stopped by later, he asked how we everything was - like as if we'd already received our entrees and he was checking to see if they were all okay. How were we supposed to be doing with only bread on the table and nothing else? It was very odd. The whole time we were there, the interactions were like this. He asked us how our dinner was, even though we were there at noon. Again, he was just very distracted. We often felt like he was the only wait staff in the whole restaurant.
At the end of our meal, we debated about ordering dessert and then decided to because we wanted to try the Lemon Poppyseed Cake. Again, it took 15 minutes to get served for what should have been essentially a cut-and-serve item.
This was my first time in a long time to come back at this restaurant. After this experience, I'm not sure I'll be back again any time soon.
04/21/2018. I had reservation for 6 people for dinner at 8:00 pm we arrived on time and waited about 15 minutes to be seated. Restaurant appeared to be half empty. We were shown to a table that had not been set up yet. It was more than 30 minutes before we saw a waiter. Because of the slow service, we ordered cocktails and food at the same time. Drinks and food were served to us almost an hour and 30 minutes after arrival. My steak which I had ordered rare was well done. One of my guests ordered hers medium and found it too rare to eat. The other four orders were ok. We had to ask for napkins and silverware after we were served. To make things worse, the waiter removed the birthday girl’s dishes as soon as she finished eating while the rest of us were only half way through our meal. I requested they wait until we were all finished and apparently that was a big mistake because we had to wait some time to see the wait staff again and order dessert. The desserts were a positive in this dining experience. This restaurant has been around for many years and I have always enjoyed it but something was wrong on this night. I’m not sure I will ever go back.
Friendly, welcoming and efficient service and delicious food.
Our waitress was injured and the staff picked up the service. Not the best but they did the best they could do.
Ok but have potential to be better if you dig deep down inside and put forth the effort
messed up my birthday dinner billing and over charged went back in to go over bill they said it was right .they cant do math.wont go back
We had a good dinner. Nothing that was above ordinary but across the whole meal... food was prepared well and everything was enjoyed.
Every time we go to Cattle Company, we always enjoy our dinner. Good food selection, great food. I like their special 2 for a great price with 3 or 4 main course menu
Went for our anniversary. Husband and I loved it. Our waiter was great, recommended different foods and made sure our beverages were always filled.
We enjoy going to the Cattle Company for quiet conversation with friends. So many times restaurants play their music so loud one cannot speak in quiet, conversational tones. Not so with Cattle Company. Plus, the food is consistently good, especially the crisp, fresh salads.
Will be back.
Good bread, great steak choices and I love the two sides to choose from. They don’t have Coke products but they have yummy coffee and a delicious pineapple-mango seltzer.
It was a very nice evening!
We were not being rushed and I just wanted a slow progression beginning with a plethora of appetizers to be enjoyed and savored along with some really good island teas while having some good company and conversation!
Building into a delicious combination of steak and lobster for dinner all the while surrounded by a peaceful ambiance and atmosphere!
Great waitstaff with the utmost patience and attention to detail!
The food and the service was very good. We really did enjoy ourselves very much. Our service person did a great job!
Waiter was totally unfamiliar with gluten free needs and restrictions. Dining was quite good.
Our food took one hour to get to the table and then it was cold and the steak was chewy.
It was Valentines and very busy. I had a 7:45 pm reservation for 4 which ended up being 5. Our son was able to join us, and the staff were very accommodating. The wait was about 10 minutes, standing room only. We were seated promptly, and our waiter brought us our water and bread. No silverware. So we waited. They were very busy. When he came back we asked for silverware and another bread because 1 between 5. We got those, he took our drink order. They were very busy. Our drinks came after 3 trips. We placed our order. Long story short, 4 out of 5 orders were to our liking. They were all cooked as ordered. The only person who's order mattered, was my wife. Her 1/2 lb Prime rib was cooked right, but she said it was half fat and gristle, and I looked over and it was. I asked her if she wanted me to say anything, but because it took a while to get to this point, we had a 9 year old that needed to get home to bed, she said no. I was very disappointed, because this dinner was for her. She ate what she could and we ended up sharing my 3/4 lb Prime rib.
Still had to wait 10 minuets pass the reservation time. Food had a hair in it. Had to ask for water and the bread.
Everything was awesome except for the main entree, ironically. Service was good. Very comfortable seating.
It was very load could hear my partner
Valentine’s Day. Whack food. Whack service. No Bueno
The staff did a great job to make sure we had a good time.
The steak wasn't cooked as ordered and grisly, the prawns were overcooked and tough, and my wife's salad wasn't prepared as ordered. Very disappointing dinner.
We come often and the food was very, very slow. We ordered our drinks after we sat down and told our server what our appetizers were. He came back and took our order and asked us if he should Bring our salads before or after or appetizers and we said after. We waited 25 minutes and still no appetizers. After 30 minutes he brought us our salads and said our appetizers should be up shortly. They came about 10 minutes later. Our food came about another 20 minutes after that. Not usually typical for cattle Company.
Dinner night with my husband
The food was great but our waitress was forgetful. I requested cheesecake and to sing happy birthday when I made reservations and double checked when we arrived and was told it would happen. The waitress had the request in front of her but asked what we wanted for dessert. I said we don't want dessert. Then she comes back with our check and walks off. I went to find her then asked the front desk if he knew if they would still sing happy birthday and bring the cheesecake. He says yes but again the waitress does not do or say anything. It would have been fine if they could not do it but being told 3 times that it is possible and will happen was what annoyed me. Definitely, not coming back for any celebrations. Other than that the food was great.
Great service! Food eat brought out in correct order
Our server was excellent. The seafood wasn’t the best but our appetizer, fried zucchini, and our steak and ribs were very good.
Friend loves the steaks and wanted me to go...we had a blast and server was on point.
The experience and food were great except for one small thing. The Shrimp in the Jumbo shrimp cocktail were anything but Jumbo and not really worth the money I spent on them. They tasted fine, but I was Very disappointed in the portion size.
Cattle Company is very close to my office so we frequently go there for lunch. Until yesterday I had almost give up on the place. I order the exactly same thing every time. Lately the chicken breast had been very small and way overdone. Yesterday all was good.
I know it's a sales thing, but it gets old having the wait staff ask you if you want something other than water to drink and before you can even answer they are listing several options. Needless to say the cost of the drink I was considering ordering was $8.50 (non-alcoholic) I passed.
Lastly, the place needs an update and a good cleaning. I've lived in Alaska all my life and remember when they first opened, very little (except the dance floor) has been updated since that date.
The place is good for a business lunch or group of friends, the large booths keep it pretty quiet.
Recommend the Deep Fried Zucchini! It's consistently amazing.
Food and service were outstanding. We celebrated our friend’ s birthday. They even allowed us to bring in a small cake
