Great service. Food was good. Very noisy with tables so close together.
We finally went to Carpe Vino and were pleasantly surprised. They have a great wine selection and a delicious menu. We will definitely go back again and take visitors.
Took my wife for a quiet Mother’s Day dinner and the food and wine was great! We joined the wine club as well. Everything was wonderful, food, service, everything!
This is definitely a date night or quick stop for wine. The place is small but it’s exactly one of the things we were looking for in our choice.
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that wants a quiet place with great food and wine.
The only reason I wouldn't recommend this fine fine restaurant is because it's already hard enough to get reservations! Awesome in every way. Superlative service, wine, food, and staff responsive to all the detailed questions you want answered at a top tier meal.
Amazing. Awesome. (But don't go, so I can get in ;)
What can I say? It was a perfect dinner. The service was great, the food was to die for and the pink champagne just lovely. My husband doesn't like what he calls fancy restaurants; he does now lol. I wouldn't say Carpe Vino is fancy it is just good local food with a well thought out menu, wine and great service!
Amazing food and service!!!! Carpe vino rocks!!!
Good food but the gnocchi was on the tougher side. Wish it was softer.
Fabulous restaurant...if you go there ask for the Wine tasting room....quiet and unique. Plus the food was very good and the serve excellent.
The food that comes out of the kitchen continues to amaze me. Chef Alexander is on top of his game.
We finally made it to Carpe Vino, and it lived up to our expectations. The food and service were outstanding.
We took advantage of a pre-fix offering with an Tuscan theme. As usual, everything was fabulous, including the service! We shared all 3 antipasti: Morel Mushroom Sformato (a luscious, creamy torte), Lamb Loin Carne Cruda (lamb carpaccio), and Uovo Raviolo (a wonderful stuffed ravioli in a brown butter sauce). We both opted for the Shaved Snap Pea Salad made with radish, hazelnuts and a Guanciale vinegarette dressing. This was a delightfully different type of salad and so fresh! For the main course, I had the Frutti de Mare (swordfish, mussels and another fish with new potatoes, green garlic salsa verde, Proscecco and pine nut milk). The flavors were delicate and tasty. Hubby had the Braised Veal Cheeks served on a Risotto Milanese with English peas. The veal was so tender, it felt like it melted in your mouth. If I could do it again, this is the dish I would order! Just fabulous! For dessert, we shared the two offerings: Seminola-Olive Oil Cake (with pistachios, mars carp one and strawberries) and the Buttermilk Panna Cotta (topped with rhubarb and lavender biscotti crumbs). We paired our food with a couple of different Italian wines, including Proscecco, Pinot Grigio, Primativo and with dessert, a Vin Santo.
Every course of the Italian pre fix menu was absolutely delicious. My husband and I each chose something different so we could taste more of Chef's amazing food! This is by far our favorite local restaurant. Excited for their upcoming expansion!
We have always enjoyed the prix-fixe menus, but this one was extraordinary!
Once again Carpe Vino lives up to its reputation. The prix fixe menu was superb. The ambiance delightful. The service impeccable. All in all, just the best.
We went for their special 4-course Primavera-in-Italia meal, and it was excellent. Our waiter Paul was excellent, too, as was each of the food courses. Well done, once again, Carpe Vino!
Carpe Vino, after numerous dining occasions, continues to be a favorite and never disappoints.
We had our favorite server, Paul, this time, and he made the dinner especially special as he is knowledgeable about microbreweries (of interest to my husband) in the area. We shared a Caesar salad and this is a very good one; my husband had a dozen oysters and I had the chicken breast, very tender and moist. Then dessert--rhubarb semifreddo and ice cream. Everyone is friendly and helpful at Carpe Vino--nice atmosphere--with excellent cuisine in a semi-casual setting (nice but not fussy). A wonderful evening, as always.
Delicious dinner---wine,-pate', soup, and salmon, 2 desserts--ahhh heaven!
Paul is the best server anywhere! The whole experience celebrating our anniversary will be relished in our memory for a long time.
My friend and I had a wonderful evening dinner. The food was delicious and unique. Paul , our server was friendly and gracious. Thank you for being the restaurant in Auburn when I am guaranteed a great meal and impressive service.
Better food does not exist on this planet. Chef Eric is not only a culinary master but also a genius in love with the food he prepares and presents. That every element of every dish of every meal has been carefully attended is evident in each as it is presented. I've been tempted to say to the superlative wait-staff, "Just bring me whatever the Chef is recommending at this moment". Unbelievably, every course surpasses the last. The establishment is up-scale cozy and the tables well appointed. The lighting convivial. The view of old town from the window table is charming. Our service is always impeccable. truly a gold standard. As the dining room fills, the noise level can escalate significantly as everyone enjoys themself. Just be aware, whispered conversations won't work well. We love to go early when things are just a bit more quiet. The wine list is remarkable, beginning with the most reasonably priced-per-glass to those that are any-celebration-worthy. This is food you will deeplly savor, and then dream about. We do.
Outstanding service, excellent food, terrific wine list, and reasonable prices.
Wonderful ambience, wonder service, wonderful food, wonderful company. We were celebrating 2 birthdays and had a great time.
Everything is always made to perfection with Exceptional flavors and taste the staff is wonderful friendly and efficient
This was our first visit to Carpe Vino which had been highly recommended by several of our foodie friends. The food did not disappoint (the sunchoke and spring onion soup was delicious!) and the wine list had some interesting selections at good price points. We were, however, disappointed that a couple of the menu items were not available by the time we were seated and ready to order. My husband had been particularly looking forward to the oysters and the beef cheeks--the last day this item was available on the menu--the kitchen had run out of both dishes. While we enjoyed our meal, I felt bad that my husband was unable to order two of the dishes he had been most excited about trying.
Our server Paul was exceptional and called out the right dishes and wine
Best gourmet food within 100 miles of Sacramento. Never had a mediocre meal, ever. Excellent wine selection at affordable prices.
Carpe Vino was the perfect restaurant to celebrate just getting engaged. We were engaged the day before outdoors (on the trails in Auburn where we met as both my fiancé and I are ultra trail runners). The service, food and management were fabulous and made our night memorable! Thank you.
Great personable service with amazing food
As we have come to expect from our past visits to Carpe Vino, the dining experience is great from start to finish. Food, service and ambiance are all first rate.
This is a great place. Nice that menu changes but the key favorites like pork chop are always there. Paul the server is fantastic.
The best food and desserts that are available in Auburn.
Outstanding experience. Always recommend it to my friends.
Thank you to the Chef for a great meal and our outstanding server, Paul!
The Service, Food and Ambiance was excellent. We will be back soon.
My wife have eaten here many times and keep coming back. When we thought of a special place to celebrate our 30th anniversary, Carpe Vino immediately came to mind. We sat next to a window lookijmg our over Old Town Auburn and enjoyed the people-watching. Paul, our waiter, did his usual fantastic job of making the evening even more special. The food was creative, had a few different choices and was presented beautifully. Each of the dishes were exquisite, filled with wonderful flavors. One of the best meals we have ever enjoyed. Thank you, Carpe Vino!
A very nice restaurant with a very extensive wine list. Portions are on the small size and pretty much everything is ala carte. The food selection leans to the foody types with selection on the small size ( a chicken, a beef, a couple of seafood, one vegan) . Rooms have brick walls which makes the noise level a little high. The prices are high for the amount of food but the quality is very high.
Went there for St. Patrick's Day - 23rd anniversary. The BEST corned beef I have ever had! The service is great and frienly too!
Carpe Vino is superb. We are definitely part of the younger crowd that dines at Carpe Vino. I hope people our age catch on so this establishment will be here in 20 years!
We had a fun St. Pat's at Carpe Vino, really enjoyed the alderwood smoked salmon starter! Wow. Excellent server (sorry to not have made note of his name) who had a very nice touch and sense of timing. You might think that corned beef and fine dining is a funny pairing but it was excellent and I can't wait for St. Pat's at Carpe next year!
As always, our experience at Carpe Vino was amazing. From the start with our reservations made with Patti, to our excellent server, their service is phenomenal. The food is always so delicious and creative. What makes this restaurant even better is they will be a full bar soon. We definitely will be back!
