Carmine's - Las Vegas Ratings and Reviews
It's "family" style restaurant with "family" sharing sized portions. The portion that came out for the two of us was way too much ... a group of four woud have been better. Be aware ... large sharing portions. Otherwise the food/service was great. And they have some allergy friendly options (also family sized portion).
My wife and I had a reservation for dinner before a show. We showed up and (despite their being plenty of room) we were shown a table 5 feet from the waiters' service station. We refused that table and we were shown a table against a wall, sitting side-by-side with no view of the menus (which are posted on large boards on the walls). We refused that table and got up to leave. 2 strikes, we're out! The waiter at point pleaded, saying we could have any table we want. Here's a heads up, Carmines: don't treat an older couple to a crappy table. We went down the way and spent $300.00 on a meal where we were treated properly.
I think Carmines is better suited to larger groups, as the seating area seemed to be more accommodating for those kinds of patrons. If you are a couple of old folks with money, move on down the row. There are plenty of choices in Vegas.
Food was fantastic and one plate would easily feed 4 adults. No need to order more than one dish for a couple and you'll have leftovers for a full meal. My issue was with the menu. They project it in on four or so walls. We could not see the menu from where we were sitting. We told our waitress (blond tall no makeup) we would like a paper menu. She got snotty and put out and said that they didn't have any paper menus that it was supposed to be "interactive" and that maybe we could find it online!?? Okay....so had to get up from booth and stare at stupid menu in the middle of the restaurant glaring over a poor couple who happened to be sitting underneath it. Felt sorry for them having to stare at random people's nose hairs while they ate when people went to look at the menu over their head. Sorry but the restaurant left me no choice. Our waitress was consistently snotty and put out through the meal (yes you, blond-no-make-up Miss snooty ) we were laughing that she said the menu was "interactive" because there was no interacting except showing my nose hairs to random couple at table. We said we could keep things interactive and take a picture of our cash tip instead of giving our waitress a paper version! Ha ha! Maybe she could find her tip online! Anyway, great food stupid menu concept!
Three couples from all around the states meet again to celebrate 3 birthdays! We made reservations and were seated right when we got there. Service was excellent! Two couples were eating there for the 1st time and they LOVED IT! The food was amazing, tasty and delicious!!! We ordered a salad, an appetizer and the daily special. We all ate to our content and had leftovers!!! It was a wonderful experience. Every time we travel we try to find a Carmine's!!! It's that good and so worth it!!! We recommend making reservations ahead of time and checking out their online menu, because they only have the menu on the walls. You can walk up to it and take a picture, too.
Food was good not exceptional. Server had an attitude and was curt. We had a great table which they consider patio, so it was a quieter spot thankfully. Hostesses were the most friendly people in the place. Should not have left a tip for nasty server but I did.
Great experience for our nephew's birthday dinner. Food was delicious and yes, huge portion. 7 adults were fed with leftovers with two entrees and the calamari appetizer (best calamari I've had). Our server Kyle was very friendly, and took care of us, including a 16 month child. We'll be back when we're in Vegas.
We normally eat at Carmines in Atlantic City as we are east coast people. The Las Vegas version is equally as good and the service was more attentive than their east coast counterpart. The portions are VERY large so we only order a few dishes for sharing. We always find the Lasagna to be one of the better choices, it seems tio be made with homemade pasta and has sufficient meat to be flavorful yet not overpowering. Altogether Carmines is worth the effort to get there. Also it is convenient if you are attending a show at the Coloseium Theater at Ceasers Palace.
We had an amazing birthday lunch celebration from start to finish. Our waitress (never got her name !! but she had short cute black hair !) was so attentive. We ordered fried calamari for appetizer (awesome with great sauce), shrimp in red sauce with penne pasta and chicken scallopini for our entrees. Both are a 5 out of 5. But the Italian cheesecake was the show stopper !! Save room !! It's the best I've ever had.
