Carmine's - Las Vegas Ratings and Reviews
What an incredible surprise this was, it just might be my new favorite restaurant! I found myself ogling every serving dish I saw a waiter bring out to the tables around me, and my jaw dropped whenever a “Titanic” desert came out. The family style portions are huge, and everything we tried was pure perfection. My favorite thing about Carmine’s though is the way the tables are set up to create huge, family style arrangements, like a giant square, where you can talk to everyone in the group (rather than your typical long table setups where you can only communicate with the people right next to you). I cannot wait to come to Vegas again, just so I can get back to Carmine’s!
Carmines only offers enormous plates, so be sure you go with people who want to share. We were only 3 people and we shared the meatballs and pasta and we still had 3 meatballs leftover. It would be great if Carmines offered half plates. The calamari was very nice, but again a huge portion. Good value if you can all agree to share a single plate because ordering more than 2 entrees for 4 people would be crazy.
Your Manager I believe his name was Terry was very professional in handling an extremely busy
and chaotic evening with a large amount of people, actually a mob scene trying to get seated all at the same time. We only waited 10 minutes past our reservation time and the restaurant was completely filled. The food and service were excellent as always, that's why Carmines is our go to spot when in Vegas.
We have been to Carmine's many times in New York and once before in Las Vegas. This was the first time we were disappointed in our meal. We had wanted to order pasta with clam sauce, but it was not available because of the storms back East. Instead we ordered stuffed clams. Portion was very small for the price and very salty. We then ordered the lemon veal (delicious), penne with vodka sauce (good - pasta was terrific) and the veal special. The veal special was very dry and the salad that accompanied it was dressed to much. For dessert, we ordered the tartofo. Again, it was good but way too small for the price. We also had cappuccino and coffee. The cappuccino was barely warm, and the milk curdled when put in one of the coffees. All in all, it was a very disappointing meal....our first disappointing meal at a Carmines in 20 years.
We had dinner on New Year's Eve. It was a lovely choice. Excellent service and food! Best Italian plate I've had in a very long time! And I'm from Argentina, descendent from Italians... but living in a different country. Totally recommend the spaghetti with calamari and red sauce. Exquisite! Plus the waiter was really friendly and funny. The ambiance as well. There were many families having their dinner, celebrating, etc. The plates are family-sized so it's a place made for sharing. I loved it and I would have come back if I had had more time in Vegas!
The family style portions were huge, and the food was tasty and filling. Our waiter was very attentive without being overbearing. The restaurant was rather loud, but a lot of that may be due to the fact we dined there late on New Year's Eve. The prices were reasonable for the style of restaurant.
Ordered lasagne. The restaurant wasn’t busy and was quiet. The service was very good. The quality of the food was also very good. The only drawback was the lasagne wasn’t hot - inconsistent temperatures throughout. Had it been hot out of the oven would have been delicious and would have given the restaurant a 5.
