Carmine's - Las Vegas Ratings and Reviews
Service was slow. We were the only big party in the whole first floor and there were a lot of empty tables. We had to go hunt for our server because he was no where to be found for at least 3 times. We was charming (but that only goes so far with bad service). We had to wait 25 minutes to get our drinks! When he was there Michael he was good but he went incognito 3 times.
It was great! The service and food were delicious. The only complaint I had was that I asked for a side of Vodka sauce for dipping the bread in and you could only get a bowl of sauce for $22. It seemed like that was a little ridiculous. Other than that it was a great experience.
This place was fine but I wouldn't recommend for a party of two. If you want non-family size portions you have to sit in the bar area with a limited menu. We ordered spaghetti and meatballs and the small portion left us wanting a little more (three meatballs and an average amount of pasta). So it's either too much food or too little. We saw HUGE amounts of the family size portions go to waste as the servers carried them out from the main dining room. The food itself was decent but nothing to write home about. Our server was friendly but she forgot to put our order in so we had a long wait. I did like the feel of the main dining room with tall ceilings and the huge gallery walls of paintings but I'd only go back unless I'm with a huge group and want a casual place with lots of food.
Service was quick sitting at the bar, since the food is family style and there were only two of us, so we took a seat where we could order the smaller portion. There are less choices, but we were able to find something that we liked. We ordered a caesar salad and the sausage, broccoli pasta with wine sauce. The broccoli was fresh and pan seared with parmesan cheese; which was fabulous. The bar waitress was very helpful and friendly. We were in a hurry to go to a concert and she quickly gave us our check. So far one of our better meals while in Vegas. A few downfalls were that we couldn't find the restaurant easily in Caesars Palace, making us miss our reservation; then after arriving 10 minutes late, we really didn't need a reservation because to not eat family style you have to sit in the bar which is seat yourself, and not having as many choices on food if you don't want family style dish sizes.
We eaten at Carmines several times as we are locals. Are waitress didn't even tell us her name, never filled are water glasses. We had to flag her down to tell her the food was not all the way cooked. As it was pasta it wasn't a big deal. When we where finished she asked if we wanted her to bring us out to go boxes. I have dined at Carmines over a dozen times. Never have I been asked if I would like them to bring me a box. Now if a would like to box up my dishes to go. Yes I have been asked this. I'm hoping she was just having a bad night. It was poor service but we left her a 35% tip. Hoping that might spur her to be better with the next patrons. I will say if I hadn't been there before and experience great service. I wouldn't go back.
Great food, great for groups, Authentic Italian flavors. Service was not on point as it ususally is. Maybe because it was Mother's day? Server seemed very stressed and annoyed when asked a question. We waited about 20 minutes between our salad and when I asked when the rest of the meal would arrived I got a dirty look before I was told "i'll go check". It arrived about 10 min after that. No apology for the wait or delay. All the food is served family style in large plates to share. They do have a kids menu as well.
We were visiting from D.C. and excited to try out Carmine's in Las Vegas. Boy it's nothing like the one in D.C. Food and drinks have different taste and not so good, even the free bread just mediocre. The service was slow, took longer to serve the food too. Overall, it's a disappointment and will not go back again.
Having eaten at the New York location, we were very disappointed with the Las Vegas location. Not only was the staff rude and didn't want to bother helping us but the food quality was much lower than at the New York location. Additionally, when we asked for the bottles of balsamic vinegar and olive oil, we received a very leaky bottle of the vinegar which stained much of the table cloth. When we asked for another bottle, we had the same experience. No apologies were offered and no one offered to change a so largely stained tablecloth that we had to be careful of where we put our arms in order to avoid staining our clothes. We felt it was a waste of money and time.
Came in with a group of 12 and our reservation was ready on time. We sat down to ice cold water and assorted bread baskets with oil and vinegar for dipping on the table. Waitress was very knowledgeable about the portion sizes as this is a family style restaurants and we were curious about how many slices of chicken, etc. She guided us in the amount of entrees that would feed our large group. Chicken parmigiana and cheese ravioli were my favorites! We never had to ask for soda or water refills as the staff was attentive to our group. We can't wait to go back!
Carmine's at Caesar's Palace, Las Vegas, is a mirror copy of the original in New York City, Times Square property.
The food is exquisite and served Family Style. There is no way anyone can ever leave hungry.
The Staff is welcoming, knowledgeable and friendly.
A great dining experience for any occasion!
Our waiter was never around us. The waiter never served the table like my past experiences at the other 2 Carmines. And the party of 7 I was with were all sick an hour later - maybe from the extreme amount of seasoning in the meatballs. Carmines has always been a favorite of mine and my family but this was very disappointing.
-very loud environment with a wedding reception and prom dinner groups
- we were seated right by the kitchen with plenty of traffic
- our server was excellent
- large, family style portions
- menu is classic Italian American
- there are no menus handed out, it's on a billboard on the wall. We didn't have a clear view of it so I took a picture of the menu, then sent it to the rest of the group
- prices are typical elevated Strip prices
The food came out very quickly and each dish was better than the next. We ordered 4 entrees and two appetizers for 9 adults and 4 kids. Shrimp Scampi was by the table favorite, followed by the shrimp cocktail, and chicken parmigiana. We were so stuffed we couldn't eat dessert. Loved it!
Overall....it was an amazing dining experience....my team really enjoyed themselves....my only negative was that it took to long to get things started once we were seated....they had a lot of "helper" waiters....but until our "head" waiter stopped at our table nothing happened....so we got seated and waited 15 minutes before we even got our water glasses filled....OK that was the negative part....the rest is amazing....they had a special salad that night that was crazy amazing...we had 7 in our party so we ordered three family style entries and it worked out great...we finished it all and everyone was more than full but we didn't have anything left over to take home, which worked out well since this was a business trip and we were all staying in hotel rooms...we will go back....we just hope next time we can get things started sooner once we get seated at our table....
