Carmine's - Las Vegas Ratings and Reviews
The Salad/Antipasto was wilted and liquidy. It had too much dressing on it with very little meat in it. It was a basic so-so salad. The main entrees came out luke warm; food appeared to be sitting under heat lamps after being plated early. The dessert, strawberry shortcake had a few strawberries in it, a ton of thick whipped cream and some type of marble cake that was tasteless. Not worth the price! Ambiance was very good. Would we take family or out of town guests here to dine again? N O! Try other restaurants in the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas for the same price.
So we go to Carmine's in New York's theater district whenever we can. True, delicious Italian food that is reminiscent of being at my grandmother's table every Sunday as a child. Portions are for sharing, food arrives hot, with plenty of flavorful, fresh ingredients. Finding this restaurant at Ceasars's, in the middle of the chaos that is Las Vega, was like coming home. Wonderful....we went for an eggplant appetizer and linguini with white clam sauce. Wish we could have sampled everything on the menu.....
Had group of 10 for birthday celebration.
Had very attentive waiter who brought us a selection of appetizers and meals to share. Had a great dessert and waiter who sang and got crowd into it...great value in Vegas and great Italian food..looking forward to return
The food was very good. The portions were extremely large. I would recommend eating here if you have at least 4 people. We did not buy a salad as the price was 27.00, however it was large enough to serve 4-6 people but way too much for 2 people. Also entrees like chicken parmesan do not come with pasta, that is an extra charge. Being a first time customer I was surprised that the menu was on the wall. People were taking a picture with their phone so they could study it at their table.
Food, service and atmosphere were all very good. Prices were considerably less than what I expected, given how food & drink prices in Vegas are going right now. The salad and pasta portions were appropriate for sharing among our group of 8 adults, so probably not the best for a romantic dinner for two. We ordered the veal special plus two other pasta dishes as well as caesar salad and dessert. Throw in 3 bottles of wine plus a few cocktails and it adds up to a FUN evening! I will definitely take my crew there again!
Carmine's does not cater to parties smaller than 5... Plates from appetizers all the way to desserts are only offered at one price for a serving that would feed 6 people . Caesar salad for $29.95 is enough for 6 generous servings....if you are a small group of 3 , which we were, it is a total waste of food. Same with calamari . We never made it past those two items...food was good but glutinous amounts! Felt very wasteful.
They should offer two sizes... One for parties of 3 (or less) to share, and one for a group of six...
Service was mediocre... We had a reservation. Many tables open upstairs, and in the front, they lead us to the back.
Very disappointing. Have dined at similar restaurants that offer family dining, like Magggianos.., they at least offer single portions as well.
We have been to the NYC location before on our trip to NY and loved Carmines so were super excited when we saw one when we came to Vegas. The food is spectacular and yes when they say "Family style," they really mean it. The portions were huge and delicious. Our waitress was very courteous and friendly. Every once in a while, she would check up on us and make sure our water was tapped and if our food was okay. Would definitely recommend and will be coming back on our next trip to Vegas!
It can be very difficult to provide a large group of people a good meal at an affordable price. The "family style" dining at Carmine's makes this very easy and the service was absolutely awesome! Our waiter was fully attentive to our tables needs, making sure we didn't order too much food, and made sure to check on us often. Another waiter even came out to sing to one of our friends in celebration of her birthday. We had budgeted $1000 for our group of 13 but only spent $750, that's including two appetizers, two salads, three main dishes, a dessert and LOTS and LOTS of alcohol (and tip!).
Carmine's was recommended to us by a friend whom I assume went with a group of people. There was only my husband and I. When we arrived, we were told that we couldn't sit in the dining room unless we wanted to order off that menu which served 4-6 people so it was a lot of food. So we were told our best option was to sit in the bar area (at a high top), so we could order off the limited bar menu. Both my husband and I wanted to order different things but we were told it was too much food for one person to eat. So, we ended up splitting the Clam Linguine. It was very, very delicious. However, I was very disappointed in not getting to order what I wanted because I didn't want to waste that much food. I would like to go back with a group of people but I do think they need cut back on the portion sizes for 1-2 people and it not be so expensive. The prices reflect the family style option which would be expensive for 1-2 people and way too much food.
My wife and I found Carmine's in NYC several years ago. We enjoy the tasty Italian food and the family style dining. Every time we are traveling near a Carmine's we stop in. The Chicken Parmesan and Veal Scaloppini are terrific. The 4 family members be introduced to Carmine's in Vegas will be sure to return the next time they are in "Sin City."
Absolutely outstanding! Our group of six ordered the Carmine's salad, angel hair pasta Carbonara, special beef tenderloin and veal scaloppine with lemon & butter. The Sardinia lemon drop martini's were a hit. Our guests could not believe how fabulous the food was and how much there was. The service was fabulous. Although we were all stuffed (with food left over) we had to order the Titanic dessert to share. It was gargantuan and delicious as were the cappucino's and sambucca. When the bill came, we played a guessing game before we looked to see what the total was. The highest guess was $900. The actual total cost for this incredible meal was $420.00 and that was for 6 people. We had so much fun. Definitely will return to Carmine's! Thank you so much, outstanding.
This restaurant isn't really for 2 people as it is family style but we love it in New York and loved it in Las Vegas too. We shared the Caesar salad and penne a la vodka which is what we always get because they are both delicious. Great service, relaxed atmosphere and great food! You will have leftovers if you are only 2 though.
Compared to Carmines of NYC! The wait staff are very helpful and friendly. If you worry, as we did, that it is too much for two. Asked for a reduced portion and agree on a dish to share! Even the salad! They even personalized my drink with my favorite ingredients!
The food was amazing. The portion size was extremely generous. The meatballs were sooo good. The red sangria was very good. We were hoping our request for celebrating our friends first anniversary would be mentioned, as I did put it in our special request box, but it was not. Other then that it was a very nice meal. Definitely glad I made a reservation, 45 minute wait without it.
The restaurant is intended for large groups only. The hostess told us that the server would assist us with the order so that we would not order too much food. There were two of us and he said that a salad and an entree would be perfect. The salad that arrived was for 10 people and the entree was fine but average tasting. What a waste of food!
Another couple had the same experience at a neighboring table and they told the waiter to cancel their entree and bring the check after he brought them the giant salad.
Although we tried to each eat two platefuls of salad we barely put a dent in it. We had hoped for a great date night in Vegas at an Italian restaurant - what a BIG disappointment!
This place would be great for a large family with a lot of kids who want quantity and not quality food.
