Carlo & Johnny Ratings and Reviews

Service was excellent. Food was great. Best steaks we have had compared to other restaurants. Expensive. We were celebrating our anniversary, and the staff offered to take our picture (also printed us a copy), brought us a piece of complimentary cheesecake for dessert, and were able to accommodate my request for a more private location when I reserved online. We will definitely be back for another anniversary or special occasion.

The atmosphere was great and the food was superb. We have dined at Carlo & Johnny on several other occasions and always leave as satisfied customers. Our servers were Greg and Austin who did a great job. If you are in the area make this a spot to visit. Oh Yeah did I mention the live Band!!!

We went here for sweetest day/birthday with a gift card we had been given. All the staff were (except the hostesses, oddly enough) were extremely friendly and welcomed us and wished us a good evening as we made our way to our table. Our server, Greg, and his assistant, Austin, were great! Very professional and knowledgable of not just the menu but also all the Jeff ruby resaurants and other comparable Ohio resaurants. They kept our drinks filled and every need. They stayed to chat when we started conversation, but otherwise left us to enjoy our dinner to ourselves.
Very pleasant evening and great atmosphere and decor. I wish we could afford to eat there more often. But we'll keep it in mind for very special occasions.

We were celebrating a birthday, and decided to go with Carlo and Johnnys. We had dined there before, and knew what to expect. Everything was outstanding, food , service, atmosphere, just outstanding! We wouldn't consider anywhere else! Special shout to our server, Chris E. Great job, we look forward to our next visit.

Zac was our waitor, he was knowledgable about the menu, shared history of the restaurant when we asked, I remembered that he smiled...he was very pleasant and gave us great service. The food (salmon and steak) and service was also fabulous. Thank you for a great experience.

Staff was outstanding as we had a couple never dined there before and they showed them various areas of the restaurant and gave them a little history. Once seated, Adrian and his staff were up and above the standard. Food was prepared as requested and delivered as ordered. They added to our evening, three birthdays and two anniversaries, to be a special occasion.

The outstanding service was the highlight of the night. We were there for my husband's birthday, so had our teenage sons with us. The servers were great with the boys' eating preferences, made all of us feel comfortable, and seemed to anticipate our needs very well. Everyone we saw that night greeted us warmly. I guess I expected more out of the food, though, given the price (4 of us spent just over $300 excluding tip and without alcoholic beverages) and the restaurant's reputation. It seemed hit or miss, and I expected consistently fantastic. I had the Steak Collinsworth. The sauces were good, but the taste of the meat got lost in them. The texture of my steak was not what I had hoped for, and the dish was a bit cold. The wedge salad was fairly average, except for the blue cheese dressing which was outstanding. The mac and cheese was good, but not better than I make at home. On the other hand, my husband's Waygu steak was much more tender than my steak, as I guess it's supposed to be. The asparagus was perfectly cooked. The spinach was really good. And the cheesecake was amazing. I guess it was worth it to say we've done it, but I'd have to be convinced to spend that kind of money again to go here.

I took my wife out for our 22nd anniversary . I wanted to take her someplace special. She loves filet mignon and she was not disappointed (neither was I). I had the Anthony Munoz and loved it! We will definitely be back soon. The service was excellent. The waiters were outstanding at explaining some things we were unsure of. The warm butter pie was wonderful!

This is the first time we ate at Carlo and Johnny and it did not disappoint. We went for restaurant week, which consisted of a three course meal for $35 per person. My husband and I got the Freddie salad, the bone in filet with mashed potatoes and the chocolate cake. From the ambience of the place, to the wonderful service we received, to the outstanding food, everything was perfect. I think this is my favorite Jeff Ruby restaurant.

What a disappointment. Jeff Ruby and his restaurants have such a good reputation in this community and the occasion of restaurant week gave us the opportunity to try this one. Maybe my expectations were too high, but this was not a good experience and I do not anticipate giving them a second chance. Dark woodwork and countless men in service made me feel like I was in a 1960's men's club. The commotion around us was nonstop as so many men wandered around the dining room. More importantly, the food was just not good. The meager 5oz filet served at our table was bone in and full of gristle. The chicken parm was on par with what I would expect at a Denny's and did not include a side. The salad and dessert courses were just so ordinary. Glad we tried it. Will not return and would not recommend this restaurant. Wish I had spent my money at JAGS.

Great opportunity for a wonderful meal at an awesome price due to participation in Cincinnati Restaurant Week. We took my sister (for an early birthday dinner) and my father-in-law with us. I believe it was "Dad's" first time at a Jeff Ruby restaurant and he was impressed. Service was great and food was awesome as always!!

Great atmosphere. Live music in the bar area so you can here the music but not too loud so you can carry conversations at the table. Food is always great. Collinsworth style NY strip is the best steak in the country.

It was great, except for the aging in the bathroom, not as sharp looking and the smoking way too close to the front door. It was worth it overall. Food was great, service was always around and yet let you enjoy your meal. The service staff could easily go faster if you had to go to elsewhere after dinner. We celebrated a big birthday, we were four adults who have been at a lot of higher end places to eat. Scenes were great, rooms were great. If they would just clean up the two items on top, which hurt my impression. I will be less likely to return due to the missing items. Jags in West Chester much cleaner professional in lacking areas.

We had dinner last Friday evening with another couple. Our reservation was for 7:00 p.m. We got there 10 minutes early and was immediately seated at a booth we requested. It was a great experience. The food was outstanding, and so were the drinks. Zac our server could not have been more accommodating. We will definitely go again. We drive down from Dayton. It is a great place for dinner and friends. Thank you.
