Treated our 13yo birthday boy like he was a prince! He had such a good time there for his birthday; said it was the best steak he's ever had. He also enjoyed his 1st oyster on the half-shell. Service was outstanding as was the steak dinner. Couldn't have asked for a better night! Thank you so much!

Last Friday got a call from a manager on our way for our reservation, informing me that there was a power outage and they were unable to stay open. After I stopped crying, he said that we could be diverted to Tony's and they would honor our reservation. What a class act. They also sent us a gift certificate -nice! This is why I will always come back to a Ruby restaurant.

I was excited to be celebrating my 17th wedding anniversary. I advised the host ahead of time that it was my anniversary because I wanted to order a special dessert for my husband. We were greeted by everyone in the staff. I ordered the salmon served with a pesto sauce. It was awful but I didn't complain. The fumes were so strong I could hardly eat it. Most of it went in the garbage. I've eaten at Jeff Ruby's downtown several times and it was excellent. Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed. My husband wasn't thrilled with his food either. We still tried to make the best of our celebration and didn't complain. The host took our picture as a gift and was served a complimentary slice of cheesecake. We advised the waiter that we were ready for our check. We had a $50 gift card my husband was given for his outstanding customer service and we paid the remaining in cash. The total of our bill was approx. $92 and change. We gave the waiter the $42 + $29 tip in cash. We asked the waiter to confirm the gift card was ok before left. He went to the register and came back to the table and said "The gift card is fine and have a great evening. It had been a long day for us and were extrememely tired. We didn't realize that the waiter didn't give us a receipt. We said thank you to everyone and walked out the door. The most unthinkable thing happened at this point. A young waiter came running out the door behind us yelling across the parking lot in front of the other guest shouting "where is your slip that you signed? We said "what slip? We paid in cash!!! I can't describe to you the embarrassment we endured!!! We went back into the restaurant and the waiter who took care of us had a surprised look on his face. I'm sure that it was a surprise that we were not gone. The guy that ran out after us wasn't our waiter??? Our waiter attempted to apologize say it was a misunderstanding. However, I was not leaving without seeing the manager.

The food was not so great, but the service was great. A couple of the steaks were not done enough and one steak had stringy muscle/tendon in the filet. I normally see it at Outback, but was surprised to see it at Carlo & Johnny. We had a party of 6 and spent over $900.00.

We were celebrating our anniversary, and Carlos and Johnny's is one of our favorite places to go for a special occasion. When one of our entrees was over cooked, it was taken back and replaced within 10 minutes with a steak cooked to perfection!

I've dined here on several occasions and have noticed that it can be a little hit or miss. This past visit was for a work team event. In general the food was very good but a few of the steaks were not prepared as ordered... too well done. For the price you should not have to worry about stuff like this.

Our dinner was a wonderful experience. The service was impeccable and the meals were delicious. We had the strip steak and sea bass and both were great. Because it was our anniversary, we had our picture taken and presented to us before we left. Also, our waiter brought us a complimentary dessert to celebrate our special occasion. We felt quite pampered!

My wife and I went to Carlo and Johnny's for our 24th anniversary.. I have to say that the service was outstanding. Our waiter was Zach and he did a fantastic job. He was there for our every need and was great in answering our questions to help us determine what we wanted to order.
Our ribeye steak was delicious and our sides were plentiful. They did not cheat you there.
The ambiance was alive. There was a live band in the bar area that was not a distraction. At the end of the evening we had a great time. I highly recommend Carlo and Johnny's! Good times
