We went here for our Chinese New Years Dinner. I had been there before for dim sum and the food had been pretty good, and they were one of the only Chinese restaurants in town with reservations available, so we chose here. We didn't realize they had half the menu of the diamond jamboree location, but we still found items that we thought we would like. Several items were pretty good, such as the garlic salt pork chops and peking duck wasn't bad. We ordered the fish maw soup and it was not good at all. The fish maw was still hard, even though it should be soft so it wasn't cooked long enough. The rest of the items were ordered were ok. We asked for less salt, less oil, and no MSG for all our dishes and some of them were still a little salty. The worst part was the service. We saw them once to order our food, and then we had to flag them down to pay our check. We had some leftovers and we went to go get the to go containers ourselves because no one came by. I'm used to going to restaurants where the service isn't great, but this was worse than the others.
Noisy, overpriced for dinner, horrible service. We were a party of 8 and although the service was horrible they charged us for tip as if the service was good. Fried foods was starchy.
The portions of gotten smaller and the prices have gotten bigger. The food was all mediocre and not hot. Except for the dim sum which was outstanding. If I ever do return, I would only order the dim sum.
Sean is the most professional and attentive server. Always taking great care of my family.
WE HAVE DINED THERE MANY TIMES AND HAVE ALWAYS ENJOYED THE FOOD. THE HONEY WALNUT SHRIMP AND THE FILET CUBES ARE OUR FAVORITES.
We picked this location so we could wonder around the mall after dinner. The bar tender was a great guy. Sadly no apitizers were available. Lots of large tables for big groups.
Given the location in the Irvine Spectrum and decor, I expected a fine dining experience. I was truly disappointed and dissatisfied with the slow service, lack of attention and overall rude and dismissive attitude of the servers!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND $ here. There are lots of other restaurants in the Spectrum that will give you proper attention, response and you won’t have to wait for other waiters to get you refills or the check. THEY DON’T have a clue on customer service here!
Food was good but server forgot one item in our order, no rice, no shrimp egg rolls and lack of attention to empty water glasses.
My husband and I enjoy the authenticity of the restaurant but the service and lack of cleanliness is overwhelming and not worth the price of the food
Very good food as always. Love the filet cubes and house special shrimp
Celebrating my mother in law’s birthday. The Lychee martini’s were incredible and service was great.
Great old school American-Chinese restaurant. Fantastic food and service! I recommend the sweet and sour fish and the Peking duck
Food was good, but service is very bad. For a Chinese restaurant that serve descent food, but is highly priced is not worth re-visiting. Went on a Friday night, the restaurant was not busy, but the workers were just talking to each other and not paying attention to the customers. Two couples got seated and left because no one paid attention to them. I would not recommend this restaurant for the service they provide.
Delicious food. Dining room was slightly warm.
Have been here many times for dim sum, but only a handful of times for dinner. Our recent visit was for a bday dinner. Service was spotty. Our waiter was hard to find, but other staff were quick to help us out. The Chinese food is Americanized, but still tasty.
The food was amazing at least what we received. I ordered an appetizer and never received. The waiter just said he forgot. No offer to bring out one. I also ordered noodles and they never brought them out either.
Once the food came the waiter never came back. I had to go to the front desk to get my check and leave.
Very poor service.
Dad’s birthday. He said best Lobster ever
The food is consistently good. The service is really bad. Unless you waive someone down, you’ll be ignored with the exception being during dim sum. They also need to keep the restaurant cleaner.
Service was a little rushed, but the food was excellent.
Very good food, good service; nice location has lots shopping stores and fun.
We always go to Capital Seafood when we crave dimsum and good Chinese food. We had our usual egg drop soup, dimsum platter, yang chow fried rice and house special fish fillet (this one is not on the menu but they will make it for you if you ask for it). These are our set favorites and they did not disappoint!
Went to Capital-Seafood Grill to meet up with some friends for dinner that I hadn't seen for awhile. In the past we have had excellent meals there, and we enjoy the fact that it's a large
enough place that we never feel rushed to get through a meal, and it's easy to talk and hear one
another. I don't know what was going on last night but the service and the food was terrible.
First, our server Mindy was pleasant but kept rushing us to order. After that we rarely saw her.
Next, the soup came out at the same time as the rest of the meal, when it should have came out
beforehand, so the table was overly crowded. The soup was hot, but the rest of the food came out barely warm. My friend ordered the duck and didn't like the taste of it and ended sending it
back because it tasted so badly, once we were able to flag down our server. Two of us ordered the Mongolian Beef which was tasty but barely warm, and the rice that came with it was cool as well. The portions were good sized, and everything, other than the duck would have been great
if the food had been the correct temperature. Even the hot water I ordered came out cool in the
I don't think we will be going back there again!
Food was not that great. I ordered seafood chow fun noodles and I got mostly imitation crab sticks and fish cakes on it only two pieces of shrimps. The price was $18 . We also ordered chicken noodles , noodels were good but chicken was horrible as it was so gummy you cannot chew it. It's cheating the customer!!!!! Even online menu looks good but when you go to the restaurant it's completely different with less options. You are better off to go to PF Changs great quality food
Dirty bathroom, quick attention is needed.
Poor customer service, bad waiter attitude.
We always enjoy this restaurant. The food is always good, sometimes the service is a little bumpy but all in all, it is worth the visit.
Customer service was not great. Staff is not accommodating and careless -
water, soup spills as they get taken away.
Nice price on lobster, crab and live shrimp. Impress lady
Overpriced for what it was. All the food was fine, service was just okay, but $18 for wonton soup? Lobster for $188?!? Dim sum was the best thing we had.
We are true foodies, and don't mind paying the price for a great meal. But when there are plenty of good (and more authentic) Chinese restaurants in the Irvine area for a much better value, this place underwhelmed. There is absolutely no need to overpay for lackluster food at a chain restaurant. You're paying for ambience and convenience if being at the mall.
Great food and great service. One of our favorite restaurants in Irvine!
Good quality Chinese food. More authentic than PF Changs and the like. Orange chicken was good, and my wife enjoyed the sizzling seafood. Offer brown rice as an alternative.
